For me it is percieved safety which allows me to be the most authentic. Maybe the content of your posts works for you but it is too nihilistic for me. To use your computer game analogy, if I play a friend's copy of gta, and all is already lost because it won't save, I will get bored quickly and engage in reckless illogical behaviour.
