oh god i never knew i needed this sub until right now. i'm so tired of people self-diagnosing like they're a medical authority.

the mentality there is that if you weren't guilty then you wouldn't have been arrested.

i might be mistaken but i swear this has already been tried a few times, and every time a different institution tries this, they have to cancel it immediately.

it depends. i don't believe equality should be a measure of outcome, but here's what i think about this: if 10 people are expected to run 100m race, that's equality. someone will be first, someone will be last, and that's determined entirely by merit. if 9 of them had to run 100m but 1 person had to run only 20m, that isn't equality. everyone can understand that's either moving goal posts or the person is being given a severe advantage - everyone has the same goal, and this person has a goal tha…

the hammer itself is unisex. nothing to say about the person who wields it.

that actually makes this one of the most on-brand posts i've seen on this sub then. because it's not a "hehe women bad" post, it's literally a "you do not get to circumvent equality based on your gender" post, which is what i feel was the original spirit of this sub. no biases, no special treatment, a simple cold and fast rule the applies to everyone. the hammer of justice is unisex.

Frankly speaking this sub can be preachy and does lean into any excuse to trash talk women. There are radicals here, as there are in any group. That said, the women who are trash talked in this manner are often obnoxious or entitled in their own right. To suggest there's zero misogyny in this sub is farcical, but it's not the focus. If there was a sub called "mansplainingpassdenied" then no one would bat an eye, even though it's pretty much the exact same concept of this sub, just with the gende…

Feminism isn't bad, and I don't even think the people that hate feminism hate actual feminism. Since the dawn of time, terrible people have flown the flag of noble causes so they can feel vindicated in their hatred. Then when their shitty behavior is criticized, they hide behind the shield of their righteous and noble cause, crying out that you're evil, a racist, a bigot, a sexist, part of the patriarchy, a nazi, an alt-right dipshit, a communist, a snowflake, a bootlicker, or whatever other tre…

pejorative = offensive. expressing contempt or disapproval. most well known slurs are described in professional academia as "unambiguously pejorative."

xQc speaks faster than he thinks which means 90% of the stuff that comes out of his mouth is diarrhea. when he actually takes the time to cool the motormouth and decides to craft a response to something it's generally as you've described, a surprisingly competent opinion.

"sworn testimony" i've got a thought experiment here. let's assume katy perry actually was taken advantage of by record label bigwigs who go through sex-icon female pop stars on a weekly basis. can we then make the logical jump that perhaps if katy perry HAD confessed in sworn testimony that she had actually been assaulted/raped, she would've been blacklisted by the people in charge of her entire career, her record label, her PR team, her advertising agency, basically everyone in the industry...…

I don't mind this. If women, lgbt, and whoever else can have their zones of privacy, men should be able to as well. I know "safe spaces" get a lot of flack but really it's nice to just shut the world out every so often and just talk about what you want to talk about. despite what anyone tells you, most of humankind is considerate and compassionate of their fellows, so there's always that initial social resistance for most reasonable folk to be selfish or rude to someone bothering them. you want …

same concept for hygiene products. for example, some men's shampoos might just say: ingredients: shampoo, whereas a woman's shampoo has like organic lavender extract or sea foam essence or tear of the last unicorn and wonder why their shampoo costs 4x as much. for the same reason, bigger jerseys should be more expensive than smaller jerseys, and men are usually wider-framed or burlier than women.

yeah, i'm not a fan of this mentality of "a moderately attractive woman is making something up for attention or trying to compliment herself, so she is IMMEDIATELY uglier than a swamp hag" like no, dude. ugly personality != ugly appearance. but what do i know. i'd shag a bag of hammers if it told me it loved me.

To be blunt, I've always felt like snapchat thots, titty streamers on twitch and strippers deserve the clientelle they get. It's all low-effort bait that keeps catching idiots, and these kinds of people are honestly made for each other. If these kinds of people can find an audience who will give them money just to see them naked, then more power to both of them, really. If it's stupid and it works, it's not really stupid is it? If I stood outside my house with a sign that says "Give me money" an…

your experience speaks to me, because as someone who is entirely british/irish/scottish by background and lives in canada, the first time i thought "am i a racist?" was at canada's 150th, and i SO unbelievably fed up with all the chinese tourists who just pretended no one else existed. absolute zero consideration. and i get it. with a billion and a half people in that country you have to develop a me-first mentality or you get left in the dust behind the billions of other people who will put the…

Honestly, as much as I agree with the memo and think Google is completely in the wrong here - I do have to agree with your comment. Whether or not it's true, it's simply not work appropriate. It's one of those things that even the coolest or most relaxed of bosses will look at, squint their eyes and make a pained "Oooohh..." sound. Because - shame as it is - being right or making a good point does not grant you immunity and is not a magical save-all in the real world.

A disease with a 2-3 year terminal based upon the fact that its almost exclusively found in really old people who live in homes, can't move on their own and need medication daily. TB is in the prime of his life, literally. He's not going anywhere for a good decade. Not a full life and that's sad, but he isn't cacking any time soon either.

As bad as this subreddit gets, reasons like this are why I still need to be subscribed here. It's like "how dare you pepper spray a woman? well great now we're going to call you a pedophile and a rapist who likes to abuse little girls" this is probably the most clear cut case of "it wouldn't have happened if the genders were reversed"

Surprisingly, this actually helps me understanding feminism. Not the obnoxious "hurr durr my triggers" kind we know from tumblr, like legitimate feminism. Look at it like this: If a puppy is biting a man, the man is a monster if he bites the puppy back right? That's because everyone thinks puppy is cute and harmless. That's basically how women are viewed. When a woman punches a man, everyone laughs because "Hey look at that cute thing punching the guy.", and when the guy punches back its "Hey, y…

I went to high school in the 40's. I miss it. Shit like this NEVER happened. Well, not at my school at least. It was just different back then. You didn't have all these entitled kids raised by empowered single moms. Kids used to have respect. I've got to stop. I could spend all day on how much better things used to be and all I'm going to do is get myself fired up FTFY

Wouldn't he get sued for defamation of character? No. He's just saying "Your employee has once done X in the workplace." He is not trying to get her fired. Well he is, but he's not encouraging the company to fire her beyond stating the simple truth of what she had once done. It is entirely the company's decision whether or not they want that kind of person representing them. It's not defamation of character if what you're saying is irrefutably true. At best she might be able to file for harassme…
