It’s okay to say that men generally have it harder
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/25 09:52 AM

I think the bill should always be split on the first date regardless of who asked/invited and a lot of people don’t like that lol but can never give me a good reason why not. Also an another controversial one is that I believe dating is decently harder for men So its just entertaining ig
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/25 05:26 AM

I’m here because I have two main strong opinions I think the bill should always be split on the first date regardless of who asked/invited and a lot of people really don’t like that lol but can never give me a good reason why not. Also another controversial opinion of mine is that I believe dating is decently harder for men So its just entertaining ig

Finding a good match but women and men struggle with that equally

Women and men both struggle with equally though. So men have it harder
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/25 05:00 PM
1

Men and women both struggle with the latter equally so the former is what makes the difference. Would rather have zero options or plenty? The answer is obvious. So Dating is harder for men. Point blank
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/25 04:57 PM
1

Late but men find it equally hard to get a suitable partner as well so that’s a double whammy. The difference is that we have no options while women do

I came here to only to talk/argue about one topic really and no one has ever changed my mind about it. In fact my beliefs have been further reinforced if anything

Ok I have another question what would you say was your main drive to splitting the bill on the first date? You not wanting to feel like you owe them something or because you feel that’s like the most fair way to go about things early on or both?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/01/25 05:31 PM

We don’t need an image or anything we can use our imagination it’s just that it’s way better if you have the visual. This is indeed interesting to hear that a lot of the women here don’t really think of anything when getting off. That is the complete opposite for most men probably

100% agree Dates are relationships aren’t based on a financial transaction. So one person shouldn’t have to pay for both. Most first dates don’t even go anywhere
/r/PurplePillDebate01/01/25 03:19 PM
1

Are you referring to how younger women say people don’t go on dates as a whole as much Because 90% of American gen z men foot the bill on all or most of the dates. And it’s probably near 100 for the older gens. Either they straight up lied, think they’re paying for stuff when they’re really not or you just live in the rare part of country where splitting the bill is actually the most common.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/01/25 01:50 PM
1

It’s not a flex bro. Literally every guy does it at least here in America. Your an average joe
/r/PurplePillDebate01/01/25 01:32 PM
1

Many men who can easily pay like to do so because it provides them with an advantage It doesn’t though practically every man foots the bill on dates in America. Those men are just the average joe
/r/PurplePillDebate01/01/25 01:28 PM
1

Ok although I do feel there’s a decent chance those men could have insisted on paying because often women will fake split the bill with the expectations the man declines it and insists
/r/PurplePillDebate01/01/25 01:06 PM
1

I couldn’t agree with you more on this it’s crazy that in America women have been able to hold onto this super blatant double standard that makes dating unnecessarily harder for men. More women need to have self awareness and check their entitlement/hypocrisy and more men need to stand up for themselves
/r/PurplePillDebate01/01/25 01:39 AM

At least here in American gen z women are more liberal than ever but still expect men to pay on dates so there’s that
/r/PurplePillDebate24/12/24 06:47 PM

No it’s just that the great majority of the female population in the us are entitled and hypocritical all in this way. The female hive mind lol
/r/PurplePillDebate24/12/24 06:24 PM

Foreal this right here they either aren’t American or lying/being disingenous or they are straight up delusional. A lot of these comment here from women align up with it doesn’t affect me so it doesn’t exist. Or they just deflect accountability and say it’s men’s fault for why things are like that

/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/24 03:26 AM

Therefore, the need to go Dutch (and the Dutch actually do this - they go 50-50 on dates). Splitting the bill on the first date is the norm across the western world expect America. The us is literally only western country that doesn’t do this
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/24 03:23 AM

It’s because majority of American women expect men to pay on first dates and will not date them if they don’t perform that financial transaction. Men are aware of this and don’t want to murder their options so they pay up
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/24 03:19 AM

United States of America 🇺🇸 🦅. Where women hold men to their gender roles and yet calls themselves feminists 🤡. But yeah I’ve heard about Spain and how they always split the bill there. In fact splitting the bill is pretty common across Western and Northern Europe. The us is the only western country that’s hasn’t gotten onboard with it. I don’t know what went wrong here and right over there
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/24 03:06 AM

I agree with you op. Always split the bill on the first date or even the first few dates. Relationships aren’t based on a financial transaction and dates are mutual. Most first dates don’t even go anywhere. There’s no reason one person(man) should have to pay the whole thing.

Personally I don’t really find it attractive. I just prefer their natural hair color. Many individuals associate colorful hair with more liberal political views, if this is not reason, what is? Yep that is probably on of the biggest reasons a lot of dudes associate it with that toxic, annoying sjw man hating feminist etc. We’ve seen the memes
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/24 08:13 PM

Also most American women still expect men to pay on dates for them in 2024 and this is still the norm even amongst the younger generation. They’ll even go as far and say cop outs like “whoever asks pays” to sound equal as if they don’t expect men to ask them out as well. It’s a blatant sexist double standard that is seen as a valid expectation (some even refer to it as the bare minimum) for women to enforce despite eQuAliTy. Yea i think it’s a bad expectation personally. Especially with how expensive everything is. If she ghosts thi you dodged a bullet if it’s not for you. Agree. Also dates are mutual so there isn’t a reason why one person should pay the whole thing regardless of who asked. Most first dates don’t even go anywhere. If women are free to have this standard then so are men. True. But that isn’t the case like this post states Or do you mean free from criticism? Because that’s not true either, considering the amount of posts I’ve seen about this issue. Idk why I never got the notification to this response Women do typically say that tho if they want it. Many women make it very clear no date or this. Then thry get less dates. Most women expect men to pay on dates and most do not say before dates they expect the man to pay for them. Hence the “expect”. They may make it clear afterwards in their response on why things didn’t work out if they don’t decide the ghost the dude. It’s one of those things they feel they shouldn’t have to ask a guy to do…

Don’t forget the financial aspect since here in America it’s equality until the bill comes Because of that men have an economic burden while women have none. So not only do women have numerous options and don’t have to do anything in the early stages of dating but they also don’t have to pay a thing. Seriously that is literally unchecked power. The definition of easy mode

That’s not really quite what I’m getting at. I really don’t feel like explaining it rn but this ppd thread titled “Men are held to a higher/more rigid standard of masculinity than women are for femininity” explains everything I’m thinking

Men were largely able to change their views on women’s gender roles, overall position in society etc. Why can’t women override their instincts and do the same Gender roles didn’t come out of nowhere they were based on instincts and biology
/r/PurplePillDebate14/12/24 07:43 PM
1

I do believe there is some truth to this but all I’m saying if women really can’t change the way they view men because they’re just so tied to their biology because men were able to change their views on women’s gender roles then what does this imply then? Personally I believe that they’re mostly just hypocrites and not as self aware as they think. Western society largely kisses up to women at this point (women are wonderful) so they’re just allowed to get away with a lot of things in general.

Sitting back and picking and choosing is not harder and will never be harder than constantly taking action, putting yourself out there and having to pay for two people on every date and that’s if you even get there because men practically have zero options to work with compared to women. No it’s harder for men and it’s not even close and the women on here may actually be aware enough to know this that’s why there’s not many responding directly to the post lol. Try harder

Men often struggle hard in the most basic first step of dating. The namesake itself literally a getting a date. Women’s most common dating struggles are I can’t find the right guy, a good guy or I can’t get a guy to commit. Never I can’t even get my foot in the door and get a date or even a match if you’re talking online dating
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/24 12:57 PM

Dating is undoubtedly harder for men and it really isn’t even close. We have to do all the heavy lifting by initiating everything early so the pressure and burden of rejection is entirely on us. We often have very little to no options unlike the numerous women have. Not only that there is the financial aspect because women are equal until the bill comes. Many girls will also expect you pay for other things to such as their ride. That puts a hard ceiling on how much we can date realistically unle…

I mean men were largely able to change their views on women’s gender roles. Why can’t women do the same? In this context It’s just splitting the bill. In plenty of European nations that is already pretty common.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/24 11:15 AM

That’s true men have for sure played a role in the perpetuation of it but I’d still say women are more at fault though because they’re the ones enforcing and benefitting off the double standard. This whole thing is actually a Prisoner’s Dilemma Damned if you do, damned if you don’t

You have to be one these days. With women having countless options you have to do something to stick out Practically every man foots the bill on dates at least here in America. Lol you’re not one of a kind at all. You’ll be sticking out way more if you don’t actually

Always split the bill on the first date. Each pay for their own meal. Relationships aren’t based on a financial transaction and dates are mutual. If you do that as a man you will weed out a lot of entitled women who are probably very hypocritical in their views

I’ve been saying this men are expected to adhere to their traditional gender roles far more than women. That’s why so so many women think they can tell a man what a real man is but you don’t hear men telling women what a real woman is. It’s crazy that feminists are constantly telling men what a real man is but would lose it if a man tried to tell them the same
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/24 11:09 PM

They also spent it picking and choosing all equality/patriarchy when it wasn’t to their benefit. Subsequently enforcing men’s traditional gender roles instead of helping break it down like they claim to be for
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/24 03:41 PM
2

This right here women largely enforce this by being so picky and strict in the boxes of what they find an attractive in a man. They all like the same thing. Just the fact they feel they can claim what a real man is but a man would be crucified for doing the equivalent is all you need to hear
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/24 03:33 PM

Unfortunately you are minority even amongst progressive/liberal women. Sure, there are some women who “want to have their cake and eat it too”. There are also progressive women with more consistent preferences and standards. Most women want to have their cake and eat it too in relationship.

Idk where you are from but in the us women do not have that mindset are a minority

Since you say you are radical leftist How should the bill be handled on the first date or dates in general? And if you really subscribe to the whoever asks pays mentality do you actually ask out men enough?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/24 10:26 PM

Considering that for most women the man can never make much less than her and has to perform a financial transaction just to be in a relationship with them I’m guessing probably too much
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/24 07:47 PM

Women are not egalitarian at all. If they were why do so many of them still expect men to pay on dates

They expect a man to play his traditional role but not themselves even though they always cry about feminism equality patriarchy
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/24 04:19 PM

My thinking is that if a women expects a man to adhere to his traditional gender role such as paying for dates then there is no problem at all with a man expecting a women to be able to cook
/r/PurplePillDebate27/11/24 06:28 PM

I’m not sure but my first thought is that men may be more sexually attracted to women or at least visually more than the other way around which I somewhat believe.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/11/24 04:43 PM

I’ve always thought that if women being topless became accepted just like it is for men that breast might actually lose a lot (not all) of their sexual appeal. I think a large part of the sexual appeal of breasts may come from the novelty of them never being shown
/r/PurplePillDebate27/11/24 04:01 PM

I just really hate the expectation here in America that men should pay on dates because it is still going strong in 2024 even amongst the younger generation like me. This is one of the few places on reddit where I can discuss this double standard without being downvoted, censored etc. There are also some other things I don’t agree with too but that’s what really brought me here in the first place
/r/PurplePillDebate27/11/24 03:23 AM
1

Literally my reason here too. For example in the us so many women identify with feminist and egalitarian beliefs then turn around and expect the man to pay on dates but if I were to say all women should cook and clean it’s end of world??
/r/PurplePillDebate26/11/24 08:23 PM

Yes it is predictable that the bear may try to kill and eat you. You’ve encountered how many men in your lifetime? Encounter that many bears alone in the woods and you wouldn’t be alive lol. Most men aren’t deranged murders. But every bear is though. So no men do not have more of a capacity for violence that’s just plain wrong. And also no you would not rather be eaten alive. No one would actually pick the bear. This whole choose the bear thing is just a campaign by a toxic, hurt, or possibly co…
/r/PurplePillDebate26/11/24 05:11 AM
3

But a coconut is also an inanimate object. A shark and a Bear are living creatures that want to kill and eat you or just taste you (shark). The bear has intent. And that intent is based on instinct which is unreasonable. The bear just has to either feel threatened or hungry enough and that’s all
/r/PurplePillDebate26/11/24 04:25 AM
5

Uhhh because a bear is much more likely to kill you…
/r/PurplePillDebate26/11/24 02:08 AM

It’s apparently filled with a stupid amount of parasites though
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/24 11:17 PM

Those women just want to have their cake and eat it too. You can’t pick and choose equality/patriarchy. If your traditional be fully traditional. Don’t expect the man who supports the entire family to chip in too much with the chores and kids etc. Same goes if you want a equal/modern relationship don’t expect men to pay on dates for you
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/24 09:38 PM

Lol idk what’s up in those other spaces but to me it sounds like y’all may just have lil thing for stinky dudes. Nothing wrong with having a preference. If you like yours a lil stinky just say that
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/24 07:42 PM

So why do you end up generalizing all men at the end of your post when it was just one stinky dude?? Like I said something ended up attracting those women to a stinky dude or dudes
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/24 07:39 PM

What I said still applies something has attracted those women to a stinky dude. They just ended up choosing poorly
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/24 07:34 PM

That isn’t a “legit complaint” about women on men. Most men have good/normal hygiene and can tell if they stink. Something is repeatedly attracting those women to stinky dudes and their just really loud about it lol
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/24 07:16 PM

Well there must be something attracting you to smelly men if it keeps happening. The majority of men don’t smell repulsive
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/24 07:06 PM

Stop going after dudes that smell bad
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/24 06:59 PM
5

Lol y’all give this up already you’re telling me that pretty much picking and choosing is harder than actually having to do stuff and make things happen. Dating is decently harder for men on average and it isn’t even close Lmfao
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/24 04:59 PM

The idea of a “real man” doesn’t exist. That said, since you prefer your partner to be more masculine, I’d hope that you either are or aspire to be more feminine to balance that dynamic. Anyways just make sure to show him a lot of love and appreciation men often don’t receive much praise. Let him know that he’s handsome and valued. Also, if the genders were reversed, this question probably wouldn’t go over well so it’s worth recognizing that double standard.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/24 04:20 PM
1

Lmaoo this here. Men are expected to adhere traditional gender roles way more than women and it’s not even close tbh. Women actively encourage and enforce this shit too. Especially here in America it’s all modern and egalitarian until the bill comes then I’m the mAn lol. But if I say women have to cook and clean it’s the end of the world. Clown world
/r/PurplePillDebate23/11/24 04:34 PM

Physical and sexual violence by women is probably underrepresented due to socially women being able to get away with it more. Social reasons, toxic gender norms etc
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 09:46 PM
1

I believe all that kinda came from the subordination and infantilization of women historically you know being below men. I think in modern times women are now seen and recognized as humans/equal to men. So they are more than just mothers and have the capacity to be evil/bad just as much as a man. They always have. I don’t think it’s a gendered thing. Society which was more male dominated way back when may have been shielded from that. They were never saints It was a gross misconception back then…
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 09:04 PM

Why do you say number 6? Because personally I believe no side is worse than the other
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 08:43 PM

Exactly a lot of women these days don’t really want a partnership but rather a lowkey pedestal. They are never willing to wisen up, take accountability and compromise no they must have their cake and eat it too. Always there way or the high way

It’s both women and men society as a whole tbh
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/24 04:00 AM

Feminism in the west is all about Female superiority now and hasn’t been about true equality for sometime. Always cherry picking the parts of equality that don’t benefit women, relentlessly bashing on men and then deflecting all accountability often to the “patriarchy”. It’s just really hard for me to take it all seriously anymore when there’s so much hypocrisy.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/24 06:09 AM
1

Partially agree with you that feminism in the US has evolved to something else but not for the reason your saying
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/24 05:53 AM

I’m assuming you’d be fine doing the cooking and cleaning as well as handling all the child care
/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/24 09:49 PM

TLDR The man must always pay for first dates. It’s required financial transaction and a giant red flag if you don’t. However if you pay up and I like you then I will be your equal

💯
/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/24 07:08 PM

I agree with you people shouldn’t pick and choose. Which segment of hypocrites in America do you think may be larger though?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/24 05:58 PM

Lmao 100% this in a nutshell
/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/24 05:20 PM

Because some people here like to pick and choose patriarchy/equality. We can’t have it both ways
/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/24 03:24 PM
14

Lol the last sentence. Truer words have never been said. Feminist until the bill comes
/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/24 01:13 PM
5

This line if thinking puts feminism and leftism in a favorable light since they seek to dismantle gender roles and hierarchies from which romantically unsuccessful men suffer. The problem with that is most women at least in the us regardless of their political affiliation or beliefs actually often want, support and maintain patriarchal, traditional gender norms for men and because of that are hypocrites. So what now lol?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/11/24 12:50 PM

I am a young black Gen Z male. Men around my age have essentially grown up in this toxic modern feminism. We were especially heavily shaped by the 2020s brand of it during our middle school through college years. Mind you I voted democrat/harris and am not for republican (I can see through it). But the majority of men around my age completely regardless of race either voted or and are for Trump/republicans. It is indeed true the Gen Z men are actually pretty republican/conservative lol. /r/PurplePillDebate11/11/24 10:04 PM

I’m really late but A lot 😬 You see majority of women in my Gen still expect men to pay on first dates or even dates in general just cause he’s the mAn 🙄. Espically considering the vast majority of them aren’t traditional nor do they plan to be. It’s no different then saying or expecting a women to always cook and clean And don’t even start with the whoever asks pays stuff cuz we’re ALL aware it means the same thing
/r/PurplePillDebate11/11/24 09:36 PM

I don’t think this would end well if a man said this
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/24 02:03 PM

Either way the way you attacked this by blaming/shaming won’t help these men. People need compassion. that cycle exists because when they go for help or even just vent they get stfu type responses like your last paragraph Way to go.

I agree with you fully us men need to collectively stand up for ourselves more, raise our standards and hold women accountable more. The reason why this has persisted in the us for so long is not solely because of women but also because that too many men continue to enable it
/r/PurplePillDebate07/11/24 01:11 PM

Wait till you figure out women voted for him too….
/r/PurplePillDebate07/11/24 02:11 AM

Fair that was wrong from me. It’s just that I personally find so many women pick and choose equality and find it very frustrating so I became a bit indiscriminate there. You’re 100% right on that I don’t get to do it. I’ve tweaked my comment so it’s less crass

At least here in the United States so many expect the man to play his traditional role when the bill comes on a first date. And the lengths/mental gymnastics people go to justify it here in 2024?!?!The constantly repeated disingenuous “whoever asks pays bullshit. It’s still super commons even amongst Gen Z women. I really hate that double standard. It’s the reason why I honestly don’t take majority of feminists seriously. They pick and choose equality
/r/MensRights06/11/24 01:11 PM

Plenty of women vote for Trump too he wouldn’t be winning if he didn’t have women voting for him
/r/PurplePillDebate24/10/24 04:27 PM

Okay sure equity but since women make their own money sometimes even more than men that means the dude shouldn’t have to pay full on the first date now
