You'll be official MGTOW when you're not interested in whether you're banned from 2x or not.

Alcohol. I know a guy who this has happened to, completely grey haired in his thirties.

By most of society's standards, that makes me a loser Sounds like you're almost there. You just need to make the mental step to reject society's arbitrary standards.

Please don't spread feminist "every man is a rapist" bullshit.

always provide your own condom. I have to ask, is it even worth it at that point? Genuinely curious. I haven't had sex, I was always aware that I didn't want STDs or children, so I just skipped the opportunities that I had, and in retrospect I'm rather glad I did. But in addition to those reasons, it always seemed to me that using a condom would make the whole thing extra pointless.

Let's add Shirley MacLaine to that list. But yeah, I've never understood the Marilyn hype either.

You can become MGTOW from where you are, but it doesn't sound like you're quite there yet (but I suspect the same is true for many here). IMO that terms implies having woken up at some point and having gained an understanding that what you thought was your goal is actually not desirable at all. At that point it's no longer involuntary. So welcome and stick around. Maybe one day something you see in your life will match what you read about here and it'll make that "click".

The whole ring thing is one of the first things that really made me sit up and wake up a little. I was in my mid-twenties and a friend just found a girl and told me how he had to spend two month's salary to get a ring for her, and while I myself was desperate for a girlfriend at the time (and many years after), I also couldn't help thinking "this is insane; if that's what it takes, then count me out".

I agree that it's nice in theory, and it can be made to work for a time with some exceptional women, but in the end it always falls apart in my experience. In contrast, men will stay friends for decades.

This is incorrect. Judit Polgar achieved a world ranking of 8 (according to Wikipedia). I don't think the rest of your numbers hold either: there's a whole bunch of 2550 rated female players and that gets you to around place 450 in the world rankings according to one list I'm looking at. Just stick to the facts, they do show that the vast majority of women can't compete with men in mind sports. In chess the gap seems to be 200 ELO points between the two sub-populations. No need to make shit up o…

My thoughts exactly. And it's not the only such thing lately; there was this thread where a guy went on a long tirade literally complained about the "aryan race" being corrupted by blacks. It's probably to be expected that this sub consists of a large diverse group of people, and some of the genuine participants here are likely to hold somewhat dubious views. But I don't think false-flag operations can be ruled out either when something seems fairly blatant.

Have fun. If you ever end up writing a Facebook post about how great it is to have a child with the right woman (which happened to a guy I know who probably wasn't going for that result), be sure to post a link to it over here. Also, I find it hypocritical of a subsection of this sub to criticize women for riding what they call the cock carousel, and being a thirsty part of it at the same time.

Took me a lot longer than 22 years to get over it, but at some point in my thirties when opportunities arose I surprised myself by choosing not to take them because I could see they'd lead to disaster. A few years later I realized there weren't any women I'd actually touch, and at that point I stopped trying to find one and ended up GMOW. That was before I even realized there was a term for it, much less a subreddit. It's important to realize there's no shame in this, contrary to what society is…

I can answer that: no. Not even, or especially, the ones who were interested in me; it always seemed (from their actions and even from what they said) that it was marriage they wanted, the choice of man being of secondary importance. Fortunately I always had the good sense not to get involved. On the other side of the coin I've had friendships with women that I got along with very well, but that never translated to love on their side, and even there it sometimes seemed like I was mainly useful a…

I have to underscore what you said about post-divorce being an exciting time for women. It made me recall an incident where I met a female acquaintance one evening and she was all "I'm so happy, I left my husband, I found new love..." A few weeks later I got the impression the new love hadn't worked out terribly well for her, but there you go. At the time I was still fairly blue-pilled and hoping for relationships, but at the same time I registered things like that and filed them away under "be …

In my case there's probably a large component of that. I only learned about the "MGTOW" concept a few days ago, but it seems to be a label that fits pretty well for me. I've arrived at this state of mind through my own experiences and observing carefully what was happening to others. My 20s - socially awkward, not even trying to meet women, no chance when I did. Pretty unhappy. My 30s - made a conscious effort, started to learn ballroom dancing, met lots of women, usually no chance. Frustration …
