Yes, crazy making because they HAVE TO CONTROL EVERYTHING AND NEVER FOCUS ON THE POSITIVE. If all you ever see are mountains of poop everywhere you look, you will never see or smell the roses

Typical. We are always left out in these matters and then blamed when it doesn’t go as anticipated for the woman. Most women expect men to: Respect my rights and you don’t have any rights. It takes two people to make baby but only one person gets to decide if the baby lives, if the baby is allowed to recognize their father, and if the father gets permission to assume the parenting role. Never have an opinion about women’s issues or rights. Constantly be blamed for shit that other men do Constant…

I think many women feel the same way as you do, but are afraid to disrupt the social norms in actual social settings. This is mainly due to the fact that nobody wants to take the heat or be a killjoy. As a social worker, I am morally and ethically obligated to challenge oppressive language and behaviour at every opportunity. I can tell you that it is often uncomfortable and can be dangerous for me personally unprofessionally, but I feel obligated to do so. Research always takes 20 or 30 years to…

Perhaps you were trying to say that putting ourselves out there is dangerous and some bad actors are making us look really fucking stupid

A joke is usually a means to convey contempt or criticize without being direct and solution focused. Jokes are usually meant to cause pain and a cowards way to address problems. Comedians on the other hand, use humour as a means to inspire social change and self reflection. Some non comedians try this and usually fail. These are my humble thoughts

Exactly. People need to stop believing Trump is a moral champion. He is using a far right group to obtain and retain POWER in order to RoB the American People BLIND. Wake the fuck up. He doesn’t care about you or anyone else but himself I love how he convinced so many voters that he gives. Shit when he clearly does not and is using them to make MONeY. He makes millions off of bit coin scamming the tax payer and back room deals. He campaigned as anti establishment when he is actually the worst of…

It’s like you read my mind. Are we twins? We will never win and will always be in the losing side, especially we are conscientious men who take ownership of our faults and have a realistic view of what is within our control and what is within the control of others. The catastrophes happen when we actually dare to set some boundaries and request cooperation. This is met with resentment and eventually, divorce. We have to do it all and eat shit and grin and say that we like it for our entire lives…

I respectfully disagree, the attitude is getting worse. Women have heaping mountains of disdain. For men A “man cold?” Like we are malingering or not genuinely sick or overdoing it Feedback is considered whining or whining All moms think and don’t hesitate to tell you how stupid, reckless and generally feckless their husbands are I could go on for years about the things I have witnessed and heard from women

I think you need to get out more. It is a societal norm for women to have permission to seek support, express feelings of various sorts, and ridicule men at every opportunity. It is also a societal norm that allows for and encourages women to be vulnerable, get in touch with their feelings, and generally acknowledged as emotional beings. Yes, this can be translated into an oppressive framework but so can any idea or social norm. To be fair, most of this is resentment from men who DONT HAVE permi…

Men are not allowed to cry My principal, my dad, my brother, and many other men were always so impressed with the casual ease I displayed when enduring extreme pain and violence, usually in the form of discipline to ensure that I didn’t experience feelings or act upon them. I have been whipped by a switch from a willow bush hundreds of times I have been strapped by my loving principals at various schools hundreds of times I have been smacked with wooden spoons, beaten with belts, hit with fists,…

As an older male social worker, I can tell you that the double standards exist and are woven into the fabric of our society, right down to the genetic level. If a woman, child, senior or anyone other than a “privileged and capable male” is in distress, we fawn, we extend compassion, we empathize, and we provide understanding. If a man dares to show THE MEREST HINT OF WEAKNESS OR EMOTION, he is vilified, ridiculed, minimized, gaslighted, sexually abused, emasculated, cajoled, badgered, and thorou…
