I don't think that a good equivalency. Even at the dawn of civilization homicide and theft were pretty heavily frowned upon. Look at the code of hammadi. Legality and Morality are both constructs of current society. Personally I try to live by the campsite rule. Problem is, a lot of people refuse to honor that.

Seems like that could be a case for women to start pushing common law marriage again.
