I think realistically speaking, they need to step away from identity politics, regardless of who it's in support of. When people are financially struggling as much as they're going to be, they don't have the mental bandwidth to worry about social issues. And TBH, I'm not sure what of the issues I have are in the purview of the government to address. Mental health is one I suppose, but that's something I believe is a universal educational issue, not one specific to men. Sure, there's almost certa…

It's worth noting the right wing of most of Europe would be considered centrist or even a little left wing in America. The disparity between the sides of our politics is massive compared to the rest of the world.

I'm assuming you're talking about the first of the "genuinely good takes", where someone claims all the statements of "you didn't win because you didn't address the issues I told you to" are subjective and unhelpful. Neither Hank nor the original post provided any specific examples, so I don't know that they were specifically addressing men's issues, or if they would consider that argument as one of these subjective arguments. Though I don't follow Hank, he certainly doesn't seem the kind to dis…

You can be sincere without being apologetic. And even if you don't get through to the, others who see you will come to their own conclusion based on how you conduct yourself.

Insulting them just feeds into the beliefs they hold and spread about men. Unfortunately, I don't see any male-identifying individuals changing the minds of people like her.

Most recently, there was a position open in a school kitchen I was subbing at. I was looking for a permanent position, and would have very happily worked at this one, as it was also very close to where I lived. I later found out from my step-mom who works as the head of one of the other kitchens in the district she overheard the head of the head of the kitchen I was at say something to the effect of "men don't belong in the kitchen". Never did get that position. More generally speaking, there ar…

The unfortunate reality of underreporting is there's no accurate method of accounting for it. An attempt to do so would be trying to make something from nothing.

I stand firmly by the idea of gender abolition. What is in your pants is only relevant to sexuality, and we should act as such. Besides the constrictions gender roles put on people, expanding the number of genders still ignores a key issue with gender: it seeks to reduce the massive complexity of an individual down to a single word or phrase. I say all this because I feel the terms toxic/positive masculinity/femininity feed heavily into the use of gender roles. Each individual should evaluate (p…

We're these done on guest or fresh accounts to separate you search history from the search? If not, it's important to do so, as most search engines especially tailor results to the user based on history.

Not all women follow the extreme parts of feminism, though.

You shouldn't punish an individual for the actions of the group they didn't choose to be part of. If an individual shows you a lack of empathy, do what you will; but you shouldn't be unempathetic to all women because of feminism. That's exactly what created incel/redpill culture.

I think an important thing to remember about makeup is women generally put quite a lot of time and effort into putting it on and refining it. So, when a woman asks if you like her makeup, saying you prefer women without makeup is like telling a street artist you preferred the wall without their art. It's dismissive of their time and effort. Obviously, this really only applies when asked if you like an individual's makeup, not makeup in general. Furthermore, it's also okay if you actually don't l…

I tend towards this line of thinking when it comes to social issues BUT I do not blame all men for the existence and persistence of the patriarchy. In fact, I wholeheartedly believe it also is incredibly damaging for men. Unfortunately, since a lot of feminists blame all men for the patriarchy, many attempts to fix the problems it creates for men are stifled, since it isn't believed men are negatively impacted by it by some; and others believe since men hold a lot of positions of power or author…

A pattern I noticed between all of those is they are shallow hookups. And, TBH, if that's what you're going for (no judgement here), that's just what you're going to run into (though that first one is particularly foul, I'll admit). Trying to change that side of the "dating" scene isn't really realistic. Now, I didn't say believing what they say about their preferences is perfect or infallible, just better than not believing them. I firmly believe the majority aren't consciously lying about thei…

Is there a different article about the same experiment? The way it's presented there is so unscientific I'm not sure how much I should trust it. Besides that, trusting women about their preferences (outside of science) is better than not trusting them.

His idea that they got it all wrong seems based on what women SAY about their preferences. Are you suggesting we shouldn't trust women when they talk about what they like and don't like?

I mean, the way they wrote it is grammatically fine; I wouldn't have written it any differently. Then again, I do have a Quill and Scroll pin, so maybe it really is a journalist thing.😅

I'm very curious about two things relative to this: What wad the exact nature of the coding error? (In my limited programming experience, using the same name for what are supposed to be different variables would be a redefinition error, which would not result in the two values being combined, but instead the first value being lost and the second one being used.) Why those diseases specifically? What's special about them (and potentially: what is different about them between the two sexes)? Edit:…

If we want to be healthy individuals, we must ask that of them. Bottling everything up is simply not healthy, so if humanity wants to continue a healthy existence, this is something we must overcome. And I think it is absolutely reasonable to ask people to look past their hormones. Using our consciousness to overcome deprecated survival instincts is an extremely important part of being human. If we never did that, I firmly believe society wouldn't exist; and if we stop doing it, we will become s…

I do follow them, though? Or at least I joined them. Not really the most well versed on the workings of reddit. I happened upon this post in a search on this sub for anything regarding the Me 2 movement (no clue why it showed up, but here we are), as I was curious how this sub regards it after a comment of mine that mentioned it as a central point got overall negative feedback (I know it wasn't necessarily the Me 2 movement that caused it, just covering my bases). I decided to leave a comment to…

There's a difference between being attracted to someone amd coming onto them. Is an older man wrong for his attraction to a 19 year old woman? No. He is wrong if he makes a disrespectful advance, though. Practical morality is about actions, not thoughts.

I decided to move my reply here, as I consider it less important and figured it would help having a clear separation of content. I really only have somewhat of an answer to your second question. No, you aren't really responsible for rape just because of the media you watch; but rape culture is a thing. As an example, the vast majority of popular professiinal pornography contains noncon (non-consentual) or dubious consent content (often coercion via blackmail or inappropriate power dynamics). Whi…

So I know I'm a bit late, but the reason for or nature of your post is too important to me for me to say nothing. Before attempting to answer any of your questions, I want to address something in your post that really caught my eye: For me, attraction to women is one of the best things in life. It is the largest source of energy. It's one of the few things that make me want to live. The last sentence is the really important thing; the rest is included for context. If this really is an accurate s…

Could someone clarify: does Title IX encompass just sexual discrimination, or does it also encompass sexual harassment and assault?

I wouldn't say women on average make similar comments more than men. There was A LOT of pushback against the Me2 movement with very similar comments from many men. Many women may instinctively think men won't ever be victims of women, but I also think most of them would be quick to change their thinking when they see/hear of it; unless the female perpetrator manages to flip the situation on its head and paint themselves as the victim. Then, I imagine it would be at best a 50/50 split of women be…

I have seen and heard (from women) it's a genuine hormonal reaction. Some want to use that as an excuse, but everyone should be held accountable to use their consciousness to make decisions and not be led around solely by their hormones and subconscious minds.

And unfortunately, this emotional mistreatment starts very early on. I was actually a fairly openly emotional child, but clammed up partway through elementary school when I and other young emotional boys were routinely ridiculed by other boys and largely ostracized by the girls of our age for being emotional. This should have been stopped better by school district staff, and more discussions on emotional and/or mental health should've been had in regular classes. I'm sure many young boys are eve…

Yeah, legally speaking, these are really the only issues I see. Most of the changes that need to happen are societal/social, not legal. The only thing to be done legally with those is for judges to recognize private systemic misandry more; though I imagine even this is going to vary from region to region and country to country.
