This confirms one thing I have long said about Girl Scouts: they are not the girl version of Boy Scouts, they are cookie pushers who found a way around child labor laws.

I hope your tolerance for baby violence was pretty low even before you had a kid. (I am a father and understand exactly what you mean, I just wanted to make a slight joke about the way you worded that)

now we insist everyone go to college as soon as they reach adulthood. Ironically, because we've done this (and also made college significantly easier so that most students who graduated high school can also successfully graduate college) we have pushed back adulthood and kept people in a playpen well into their mid 20s.

, but I still had to report her to cover my ass because she offered me a free membership in front of other students. Yeah...that's not something to mess with. Even if she WAS joking, all it will take is her passing and another student who heard her failing and you are going to have a much more uncomfortable conversation with your employer than you would if you jumped in front of the problem.

My wife works at a university dealing with the professors...ugly people with Masters Degrees are dumb too. Academics are almost universally the most conformist, pampered, dependent, and spineless people on earth. Actually independent thought is impossible for them. It's not a bug, it's a feature.

Imagine if the show added some contestants who were obese. There was a show I recently saw an ad for where the contestants only talk over the phone and pick one another based purely on those interactions, but they were all still conventionally attractive. I'd love to see them do that with some actually unattractive people who need to be wheeled into the studio via a crane.

Govt is a stand-in for "Daddy" I've said before: I think that Fight Club was right when Tyler said that our father is the first model we use to create our idea of God. I can think of nothing more disastrous for personal liberties than generations of children raised with the subtle underlying belief that government is god.

The real solution is to cut government welfare. The taxpayers subsidizing this behavior has made this a viable option for these women.

Serious question: would it be considered shaming to say I feel sorry for any man who does something like this? :edit: read the post linked in rule 1. I get the impression it might be, or at the very least it is probably adjacent to shaming them.

What, the fuck, is actually going on? Controversial opinion: social programs helping single mothers have made being a single mother a viable option. Women have replaced a husband with the government as the provider for their children. Worse still: I think that Fight Club had it right when Tyler said that our father is the first model we use for our idea of God. I can think of nothing worse for personal freedoms than multiple generations of people whose concept of God is big government

This is why "innocent until PROVEN guilty" is so important. It may be hard for actual victims to come forward, but it's incredibly easy for people who weren't victims to come forward with lies, and if we decided to "believe women" without evidence this will only become more common.

Eyeballing it here: Government: 100%. I would be beyond shocked if she's not receiving food stamps, welfare, and WIC Dad: 25%. She doesn't strike me as the sort of woman who has the sort of father in her life that would step up and pay for things, but it's also possible that she's got a father who has bailed her out too many times and she doesn't know what consequences are. I was actually talking about this recently. Most of us understand that PACs and super PACs donating money to the government has a corrupting effect. We don't usually talk about the fact it works the other way too. Anything government money touches will immediately be corrupted by it. If we subsidize something to "alleviate the struggles" of people with addiction, all that will happen is we encourage them to stay addicted and encourage more people to become addicts. If we subsidize single motherh…

must not be a bad boy Any self respecting man that isn't a "bad boy" wouldn't touch this woman with a 10ft pole. Also, pro tip kids: tattoos above where a normal shirt collar would cover means that person definitely uses nose or needle drugs. Tattoos on the face means the person probably also sells drugs. This applies to both men and women.

Social Security for one, even though you'll have paid into it from every job you'll have had. If you're an illegal alien who doesn't sign up you could be denied a path to citizenship...and I don't understand why we'd want to draft someone who isn't a citizen of this country...

The husband was smart to tell her family and their kids. He's burning every bridge she could try to use to reconcile if he starts feeling weak. How could he expect his sons to ever respect him as a father or a man again if he goes back to the woman who had a multiple years long affair?
