Trains aren't cheap, and they take a hell of a lot of time to set up. My father does HO scale model railroading (one step up from N), and the locomotives start at around $200 on the cheap end. Nevermind if you want sound, digital systems you can run off a computer, cars to pull... It's a hell of a hobby.
