Yeah I anticipated the stop whining crew. Did you seduce her with coke and a motorcycle? Seems the most common way old guys get ex-stripper moms in the sack rather than confidence and abundance mentality. I’m looking for ideas not sympathy or man-ups.

That’s the male version. Confidence to women is shear effectiveness and infallibility. Physical: The first time a gal’s boy loses a fist fight is the death knell to that relationship. Economical: Lost a job? She’ll be gone in 2 months tops if no kids are involved. Social: Not taken seriously at the company happy hour? She’ll be stalking your coworker before you even get home. Perception: Make less than her? Divorce, and then blame you for not trying hard enough or being jealous of her success - …

Mirrors the millions of overeducated yoginis waiting past their expiration date for Mr Right, and women who’ve married for money, while every community colleged waitress I’ve ever met is pregnant inside the first year of her job. So you’re right, for both genders.

If you’re a fit guy of 6’ it’s a fucking candy store out there. Anything less, well, enjoy the climb.

Having an attractive lifestyle without lots of money is the real problem.

I’m in my late forties. Unfortunately I’ve found that without the height or the off-the-charts status, even older women aren’t interested. Dating is actually harder for me than it was in my 20s.

But what if you’re a short, balding, 50 year old guy with an average income and no sexy hobbies? You can’t just confidence your way out of being low value. Confidence is a byproduct of success.

By “match that” she means “fund that.”

Like a dog. Gone 15 minutes? 15 hours? A dog has no idea. But it knows when you’re not paying attention to it.

Thanks. I’m on it.

It’s a perfectly good idea. I’d recommend the same to anyone not actively working out.

Thanks. I’ll look into it.

I’ve been wanting to get into woodworking or something like that. I liked to draw at one point but it was isolating and didn’t produce anything worthwhile. So I’m looking into things that have a useable end-product or skill enhancement.

I gym. I’m doing ok for my age and size. At 160 I can DL 315, OHP my bodyweight, bench 100lb dbs for reps, and currently working grip through one armed pull-up progressions and one armed bar hangs while holding a kettle bell (hard as F). You know that scene from any random action movie when a 200 lb guy hangs onto another person while dangling one-handed? Yeah, that doesn’t work for more than a second or two.

Yes I thought about this or boxing. Both are obscenely expensive. Hell, I’ve even though about yoga because lifting has made my body tense with a lack of mobility. Mostly kickboxing and yoga around me. There’s one BJJ close to home but it’d be me in a class full of 8-year-olds.

So, my first answer was, “...to die in a war.” But that made me realize that I had no idea at all. This will help, thanks.

I’m onboard with surrounding myself with a social cohort. Marriage (theirs) and geography have split up more than a couple I’ve been a part of. I have been trying to build a new one. Any ideas? Not much of a sports guy anymore. I’m in descent shape, but from what I’ve seen of softball/soccer leagues, no thank you. I’ve put that need to bed a while ago.

Like board-gaming? I play video games with my younger son here and there when it’s not practice to go outside. But you’re saying public groups?

Control what I can, handle the rest with a look that says, “Whatever. Come at me, bro!” I get where you’re coming from. Thanks!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
