The real question though is why do they need foreplay? What specific biological purpose does it serve?

No.

It’s very easy for a man to get off just using his hand and some porn. With lube it doesn’t feel that much different than a fleshlight. It’s also much less “socially acceptable” for a man to purchase a sex toy and so many dudes might feel weirded out about it. That’s at least part of the reason why less men use them.

Eh, it's not really that many when you actually break it down.

I'm 34 now (male) and would probably freeze at 27-28. I still have a young looking face but my hair has thinned a bit in a recent years so that'd be the main reason why.

I used to be very into MBTI and researched it quite extensively. I found it to be very consistent across my dating experience in terms of who I tended to be compatible with versus not.

MBTI is certainly not a perfect science but it definitely is not "all bullshit".

It’s relative to the average height of the population. 5’6 for a South American male is roughly the equivalent of about 5’9 for a North American male. And while 5’9 certainly isn’t ideal, if you’re facially good looking you’ll do just fine.

Speaking from my own experience as a fairly attractive guy, I'd say I'm willing to go 2-3 points lower than my own SMV for casual sex if it's being easily offered up. Any lower than that is pointless since there's already an over abundance of women 2-3 points below me to choose from. And 3 points doesn't happen frequently either - only if it's super easy access and I'm particularly bored/horny. The majority of lays from apps are from women 1-2 points lower. So yes, it's a myth that any women can…

The joy of sex is not just the pure physical sensation involved but also the emotional feeling of being genuinely desired by another person. (Even if it is a short term casual situation) Paying a prostitute for sex does not provide that. Not saying there’s anything wrong with it, but it’s not the same thing.

It doesn't have to be one or the other, at least not for me. It CAN be "a special moment of intimacy shared between romantic partners or spouses." But it can also be "cold hard biology, with emotion playing little role in it." Just depends on the context. Though I think too much of the latter is probably not healthy and it should be done sparingly. Just like eating junk food for example. A bit here and there is fine but it shouldn't make up the bulk of your diet.

Looks are massively important, but personality - or we could also say chemistry/compatibility - do factor in as well, particularly if you're talking about "dating", as in hanging out with the same person over an extended period. What I would say is that there's a certain "looks threshold" that has to be met first and foremost relative to one's own attractiveness (so yes, it's still a primary factor), but that from there, personality does come into play in terms of selecting someone from the pool…

Not to mention that there are dire consequences involved with killing someone, like, you know, being locked in a cage for the rest of your life.

It has similar symptoms to chlamydia/gonorrhea but is just way harder to treat if you have a resistant strain. Aside from the physical symptoms it’s also very mentally taxing because there are currently only a handful of antibiotics that can kill it (with no guarantees) and it’s scary as fuck facing the prospect of an untreatable infection.

That was my mentality too until I actually got it, ha.

There’s actually a ton of money and effort being put into new HSV treatments right now. Multiple vaccines (preventative and therapeutic) are in clinical trials. A new antiviral (Pritelivir, which is twice as effective as Valtrex) is in phase 3 and is already available for immunocompromised carriers. And a full gene editing cure is also being worked on by Dr. Keith Jerome - they’ve already been able to remove 90% of latent HSV from mice which is essentially a functional cure.

Not if you’re counting HPV and HSV which are both quite common.

Yup. It’s rapidly mutating and there are only a few antibiotics that can treat it. And it’s not like other bacteria. They’re the smallest known organisms in the world and can live inside of cells and also spread systemically outside the urinary tract. Looks like it can also be passed orally. So can ureaplasma. It’s not just unprotected penetrative sex that carries risk.

True for the most part, but there’s a lesser known STI called mycoplasma genitalium that can be far more than just an inconvenience. It’s almost as common as chlamydia now and can be extremely antibiotic resistant, yet most people have never even heard of it and most doctors know little about it too. You’ll start hearing about it more in the next few years as the medical world catches up. From personal experience I can tell you it’s a fucking nightmare if you pick up a resistant strain. Ureaplas…

There’s no herpes vaccine. I believe he’s mistaking HSV for HPV. 80-90% of people with HSV don’t know they have it because they’re asymptomatic. It only causes regular outbreaks in a minority of carriers. If you engage in casual sex and have had a decent number of partners there’s a pretty reasonable chance you already have it.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/20 12:44 PM

There is definitely no vaccine for herpes. Maybe you’re thinking of HPV. There are antivirals a person can take after they’ve been infected that reduce symptoms/transmission rates, but there is nothing an uninfected person can take to reduce their chances of acquiring it. Decent chance of a vaccine in the next 5-10 years though.

Men have different mating strategies that are expressed depending on their environment, experience and other factors. There's a drive for sexual variety, and there's also a drive for pair bonding. It isn't one or the other.

”The study found that men 45 and older can experience decreased fertility and put their partners at risk for increased pregnancy complications" No one is denying that men’s fertility decreases with age. The over arching point is simply that on average men are reproductively viable for a longer period of time than women are, and that’s largely why on average men’s decline in physical attractiveness is delayed in comparison to women, which is what OP was originally talking about.

You’re completely missing the crux of the argument. Our raw physical attraction mechanisms were shaped in the environment that we predominantly evolved in. In other words, tens of thousands of years (hundreds of thousands or even millions if you count our most immediate ancestors) in hunter gatherer societies on the African savannah. In those times getting pregnant as a teen would have been the norm. “Modern society” and the current culture we live in is the blink of an eye in evolutionary histo…

You do know that our attraction circuitry was formed by natural selection in a hunter gather environment and not in a controlled laboratory setting, yeah? In the real world, even if a woman at 40 can get pregnant eventually it still requires a higher number of attempts (5% chance per month from what I’ve seen) and that alone would have made her a much less attractive option in comparison to investing one’s time/energy into pursuing younger females in their teens or early 20’s who could get pregn…

What are your sources? Virtually every paper I’ve seen on this shows that women’s fertility decreases at a sharper rate in comparison to men. Not only that but women become flat out infertile earlier as well. Even if a man’s chances of having children are markedly lower in his 40’s/50’s/60’s, it can be still be done, whereas once a woman begins approaching menopause around her mid 40’s she’s essentially finished. I saw one article that gave the “50/50” figure you mentioned but it was just a quot…

I’m speaking in averages across the entire population. On average, men can produce healthy offspring up to an older age than women can. Of course the chances for unhealthy offspring increase as he gets older, but not to the same degree as it does for women. Aside from health, fertility is a huge factor as well. A woman’s fertility begins decreasing in her late 20’s and continues throughout her 30’s. Once she hits her late 30’s her ability to get pregnant is significantly lower. It’s not true tha…

I agree that men don’t literally look physically better as they get older, but it’s just that their physical attractiveness declines at a slower rate in comparison to women. “Physical attractiveness” is just the brain’s way of deciphering who will produce the healthiest offspring. It’s not a coincidence that “the wall” occurs right around the age where a woman’s ability to successfully reproduce begins declining. Men on the other hand can successfully reproduce up to an older age, and so they ma…

The obesity crisis has almost everything to do with the widespread availability of hyper palatable, inexpensive, calorically dense foods combined with increasingly sedentary lifestyles, and almost nothing to do with “toxins and chemicals” in our food.
