I want to help others overcome the things I’ve been through. I want to be a decent person, and make things a little bit better, or at least not worse. If it all falls apart, I want to be there and pick up the pieces. Plus, you know, a beer and a burger every now and then is nice and makes life enjoyable enough.

I’d give her the money. For science. I can easily afford to waste $40 and I don’t think she has any intention of paying it back ever again. I’d let a month go by to see if she contacts me to give back the money, then I’d ask about it once per month or so. I believe most human relationships sprout from need. (A) wants something of value from (B), and a relationship begins, with B having power over A. “True” friendship is a special case of this, where both A and B want nothing except each other’s company. This means neither has power over the other Friendship with a woman? Only possible if you don’t want her sex and she doesn’t want your money or favors, otherwise, the balance is tipped and that’s not friendship.

I just think most tattoos look trashy and pathetic. Many people get tattooed just to follow a fashion trend. It used to be rebellious and now it’s normal but people like to pretend it’s still rebellious and alternative. But that’s just my opinion, and everyone is free to do whatever they want to themselves, I don’t care. If OP saw some of my hobbies and passions and fashion decisions he’d probably consider them trashy and pathetic as well, and that’s fine.

I went back to school while still keeping my full time job. I also try to spend less, read more, keep up with my favorite hobbies (gaming, tabletop rpgs, writing). I also read up on how to be a better person and try to apply those principles in day to day life. I also started donating to charity.

This is so true. My own mother was cold and abusive to me as a child. When I grew up and wouldn't take her shit any longer, she became meek and nice. Until I was sick.
