Almost happened to me. Matched and talked with personable gal. Mentioned future date plan with her to my friend. He asked her name, and i showed the profile. apparently, he'd met her before, and the profile was... Outdated with regards to her weight. So i let it go. She fucking saw me in the bar a couple weeks later and CONFRONTED ME. Apparently i owed her a date. I asked who she was and that i didn't know her. Once she told me who she was I was like "ahh that's right, well we've never met so yo…

Don't believe everything you read online, bro. Talk to people irl and the feeling you're having will get more and more distant. You'll still see instances of individuals posessing the traits and the narrative that you describe, but its around so much counterevidence in your life that you'll regain hope, I think. People dont argue online about how good they have it, and the squeeky wheel gets the grease, so its harder to see "just good and wholesome" interactions that are multitudinous in daily l…

Oh, I mean like, its not like robbing a bank or something. One wouldn't plan this sort of thing with an end goal in mind. I think people are often given too much credit for knowing what they're doing. Someone employing the same kind of relationship dynamics that they have witnessed in childhood for example, is in some sense subconscious. Not at all accidental though

I think it's offensive because it reinforces a narrative of employment defining worth. I was kind of annoyed at this even before i hated my job lol I agree with you. A reactionary attitude is usually way off base. Listen to what was said to you, not what you think they meant when they said it 😩😂

It's almost like some women want one thing and other women want something else. I didn't mention this because I think it goes without saying that this sub is about generalization. Otherwise, it why should it even exist? In my experience, this needs to be said more often than it doesnt.

I immediately thought of this: better at multitasking like playing three games at the same time, or multitasking like having family obligations, running a business on the side, and organizing trips etc. Two kinds of multitasking there. I bet a test would show men being better at at least one of those.

Been reading some political philosophy lately. This reminds me of the term Commodity fetishism in marxism; the perception of relationships not as relationships among people, but as social relationships among things (sexual market qualifications).

In the book american psycho, Bret Eston Ellis uses this term alot about tight, fit, low body fat women. As long as you have muscle definition and a low body fat percentage, you're a hardbody, as far as i understand.

Hey, racism is reducing people to one of their qualities, disregarding any and all of their personal characteristics and refusing the respect a human individual deserves. Saddens me to see stuff like "I will choose my kids every time" i dunno about you guys but all im thinking is damn she must have been hanging around with shit people for a long time if she feels the need to make that explicit. My kids will win every time is something you say to someone on the very rare occasion that it needs to be said. I've said this to exactly one person, with the rest its implicit. I wonder what other weird insecurities/habits/beliefs she's picked up from those shit people.

I see. "Its all relative", but BPD is alot of "women are like this", "men are like this" "oh wait im a man and im not like this reee" etc. I don't really understand what the big groupthink is when it comes to sexual politics, everybody's different

I enjoyed reading your discussion. It seems to me this conversation is about the semantics of language. Are they objective or subjective? Well obviously a groups understanding of the words used colours the perception and reaction to the discussed matter. Words can be used as a science of quantifiable logical qualifiers, but for the masses they are inaccurate tools of understanding; easier the more there's personal chemistry or unspoken understanding.

Reminds me of the response to black lives matter: "all lives matter". Yes all lives matter but the black lives are the ones that need our help right now. Yes all abuse is bad. But men are ridiculed or dismissed when they tell someone their SO is being abusive so this needs to be rectified. (I have no statistical backup so grain of salt)

This is NOT journalism. Embarrassing that the author did no interviews with men in the same age bracket to diversify the article. Self affirming writing calling women beautiful and fit and competent any chance she gets. What about men finding dying your hair and ruining your skin with fatty makeup shallow? 'Match my lifestyle'? Negative reinforcement I see. Hows that working for you? "You will burn for eternity" is a scare tactic and such a narcissistic abuser thing to say. Easily can break a person as they are forced to accept all those they cannot 'save' will, in fact, burn for eternity. Raising children this way is a recipe for disaster, as the parent will feel like the child should accept their ideals, while in reality there may be a much better way for that child to understand the same thing if explained without t…

Do you think we need objective morality? Maybe some do, wether it exists or not. I suppose in the case of simulation theory for example, objective morality could definitely exist, i suppose it depends on what the word God means
/r/WhereAreAllTheGoodMen09/05/20 10:55 AM

I totally agree, but I think that requires being at least somewhat mindful. Maybe not always, but at least every day. This is why I've started doing what prayer usually does, set aside the time to be mindful and consciously think about/question one self and ones life
/r/WhereAreAllTheGoodMen09/05/20 10:50 AM

What if morality is a human construct, what happens to your argument then? Arguing either God OR complete moral relativism is sort of... Unimaginative. You can't have objectivity without relativism imho. I agree there isn't a "complete" ethical theory that can be applied to all situations, but most humans will agree it is always morally wrong or unjustifiable to torture children for fun, as an example (at least all whose opinion would be worth something to the collective, we don't really want mo…

I've no idea of the average honestly but in my opinion all these 'pill" subs are way too generalizing or reductive. Nobody is really defined by any group they belong to, be it man, woman, marginalized etc. Often times I see a person posing a question like "why are men/women like this" and it turns into a sort of argument where people respond to it like the question was "why are you like this". I dont really have a solution I just think its about individuals, and these subs touch on a much larger…

Dont not A = Not not A = yes A (Studied Logic) I agree though, the worst thing is going out and suddenly meeting them then being blindsided by their attitude when you're not expecting it. I don't know if I'm imagining things, but it seems to me that it's almost fully acceptable now for women to be fat or "thick". From what ive seen its kind of the opposite way around. If a guy ultimately chooses not to date a girl who is bigger than him (higher weight than his, sometimes higher BMI than him depending) the body positivity movement has given these women the idea that there is something wrong with him and that he should face dire social repercussions. Sooo are you saying women who are prejudiced are not at fault because they inherited this belief from a largely sociopathic grouping of men, or maybe are you saying that glorification of an arbitrary physical characteristic has nothing to do with gender, but rather societal roles and their growing correlation? Agreed. In some relationships I've quietly pondered whether they were horny (wanting sex as agoal in itself), or just wanted to have sex (especially one who it felt like wanted confirmation that i desired her) That said, ive also had women roll their eyes back into their skulls, bouncing like crazy to the point i felt like a prop in the act, or had women laugh hysterically, it really did seem almost transcendental, pretty amazing tbh
