Just say "I'm thinking of getting my own place again. I think it'll be good for our relationship, as things have been lacking recently"

If my wife was telling me how to do something, I hand it to her with a smile? Other times when she has a problem, I ask her "do you want me to fix it or are you just complaining?" I do it with a smile like I'm containing laughter at her struggle. I think you are just insecure. Let them fumble with the idiot box, you should just go do something else productive anyways.

What does love have to do with a relationship? Love is a feeling. A relationship is a commitment. Hugely different things.

Do you get hungry when you see food? How about a perfect moist chocolate cake? Can you imagine the taste and saliva comes to your mouth? Can you imagine it clear in your mind, the texture of it in your mouth but then mentally fight it and try not to think about it? It's hard isn't it? It can be done, but it takes effort sometimes while other times you don't think about it, right? Yea that's what it's like for men & sex.

You can have a prenup that says the woman gets some of the resources, but not 50/50. it's not an all-or-nothing agreement, there are nuances. There are some that say the prenup disappears after 10 or 20 years. There are stipulations for children too. people are acting like "oh if you have a prenup, you get nothing when you divorce" which couldn't be further from the truth. They can say things like "She gets $100k, plus $1k per month for 3 years, plus X amount per child until they are 18." Or you…

because alimony is terrifying. Imagine having to pay 30% of your salary every month to some guy you used to be with. I'm not in the USA so even common law partners can be forced to pay alimony.

My wife moved back with her parents for a month. We got engaged shortly after.

I hear you own your own home, that's great. I know it's not for everyone, but we rent out the basement. The extra income is very helpful. Our house is setup such that the basement has a separate door, so it's no bother really, but it greatly depends on the type of house you have.

I was clearly bothered and once we were alone he pretended to be oblivious to what he had done. It was not clear and not obvious. You need to use words to express your feelings. Bring him your problem, don't expect him to be omniscient about it.

Solution is to "go without" for a while. It's like resetting your alcohol tolerance.

I worry this might be a repeating trend if I “next” him. Yes it might be. The term used for you is alpha widow. You've had a taste of the best, now nothing else can satisfy.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
