You're referencing that one first sentence of the article, albeit, it's a broad general statement - it's backed up further down the article. DOJ stats have it at 8.3% females (sourced). It says Australia is at 7.9%.. with no source. But I found something very similar with a google search. Start almost halfway down. Regardless of what we're talking about and whether the stats we're talking about are real, in order to be efficient I think you have to use stats.
