midwestufohunter is doing the exact thing this thread is about - they scan for any topic to change to "men bad" then respond to that. This is endemic in the dating subs. Regardless of the topic, it will be used as an echo chamber for "men bad". And since relating personal stories of "men bad" doesn't violate the rules explicitly, it's an easy avenue to spread the misandry narrative.

There's a post today where she messaged the top 10 men in NYC and is confused why she's not getting any matches.

You completely missed the point, and are focusing on what the standards are - those are irrelevant. The point is the hypocrisy in having standards, then turning around and basically saying there are no standards, which is intellectually dishonest. Also intellectually dishonest: trying to derail the discussion into specific standards, I never questioned the standards themselves.

You don't see how having numerous (specific/high) standards for men, and then turning around and saying the standards for men are so low, is hypocritical and inconsistent? You can't say standards for men are low, when you also have high standards for men, those things are not consistent.

Here's a great example of being intellectually dishonest I ran across today, these were posted by the same person, just hours apart - On Datingoverforty - This is not something limited to men. I am a woman and I approach men with the same standard. I will not date someone who won't go down on me. I won't date someone who is exclusively into vanilla sex or isn't willing to explore a bit of kink. I have a high sex drive and will not be in a relationship with a man who has a low libido. And you kno…

I've owned 80 acres of land in southern Colorado for the last 20 years. Purchased for ~$10K, and I sold it to a land wholesaler for $16K a few months ago. It was barren and desolate (even for a guy like me that loves barren and desolate). There was no way to make a go of it out there. My mother and her husband tried to homestead it and failed (he committed suicide out there). A cautionary tale that not all land is created equal, and you should focus on good land, not cheap land.

They do not ban users, only links and blatant references.

Women need to understand, when they see that pic of me holding the fish in my dating profile, I spent a lot of damn money on my boat and fishing gear.

Pretty sure it was the usual 10 day ban, that's what I always get, nothing permanent (yet).

He was banned numerous times, just like you and me. He just decided not to come back after the last one. I've pretty much stopped posting as well in all of them (different account), just came to the conclusion that people are dumb and my opinion really doesn't matter.

In datingoverthirty its a lot of women commiserating about shitty men, typically becoming a circle jerk about how shitty men are, sort of a support group. Any guys that post on there, if they've been around awhile, are very brief and defensive/careful not to draw the ire of the mods.

Take a look at the other subs that overlap and you can see that women make up a large part of the most active users. https://subredditstats.com/subreddit-user-overlaps/datingoverthirty

This sums up the underlying issue quite well, but it's considered a banned thought, so any discussion of it gets you warned/banned.

They're not going to understand it reading datingoverthirty either. Mention "post-wall" and you get the banhammer. Even if you use euphemisms and try to soften it, it'll get removed.

I remember that post, it was well written and gave good advice. I see more and more posts deleted that I have a hard time finding the rule violation in.

You visit FDS without realizing it. Take a look at the posters on the Datingoverthirty sub overlap. Much of the rhetoric you and the other poster are talking about, not settling for anything but perfection, and not accepting that the issue is within, is directly from FDS. However, if a man says anything like this, its misogynistic and gets deleted. A post I read tonight was deleted because a man said women get more matches, yet, in the same post a woman talks about how she has to sort through al…

What's the female relationship equivalent to "porn sick"? Besides alpha widow. You're so used to easy sex with hot guys, you're now "carousel sick" and don't understand the rules of the game.

You've essentially described many of the prolific posters on that sub. That's why the common advice is to "leave him", they can't have nice things so why should anyone else.

Just going to air my thoughts here. I've been reading that sub for years and know the culture (it's low hanging fruit, but I digress). Usually that sub is good about digging deeper for context, but not that post, it was all kneejerk gut reaction by women. It's a sub that has predominantly women users and has had a large influx of misandrist women in the last couple years. The mods are great at stifling misogyny, but overlook misandry as long as it's couched in flowery language like a discussion,…

Liberals will handwave this as "mental illness. Fuck off with this, this isn't a liberal/conservative issue. Way to lose credibility.

It's what women tell themselves to feel better about being single. You're a cashier at McDonalds...hmm, might be too much for my ego to handle.

I haven't seen this. I've only seen it used by Karens trying to imply they live a life of excess. I've never seen it as a political identification, but then again, I rarely see it used as a label.
