My point is it's really important to stay genuine. Once whoever it is you're talking to gets to know you, do they actually know you, or scripted routine guy. Smiling and saying "Hi" has always worked best for me. You won't get anywhere if your approach is to fire off a witty opener and then follow up with a bunch of scripted routines.
