Fine. Aliens, not Alien. Kill Bill, Resident Evil, Underworld, Charlie’s Angels.... The film industry is a business, and they’re just trying to sell. It’s not all a political message, and I’d argue that it would actually take away from the message of women equality if they were purposefully throwing it up for that “women are awesome” reason alone because it is actually objectifying women as nothing more than business opportunities. They’re just doing what makes the most business sense...
Well, to be fair, badass women sell well. Terminator, Alien, etc. It’s a great story trope. I don’t find that women are hijacking men’s movies at all. It’s been around forever.
Thanks for the detailed response. There was just a lot of women bashing, so I got a little confused. I totally feel that “better off on your own” attitude, so I guess I shall stay for a bit longer.
