Can't imagine it because I don't think it'd happen! It's pretty insane that anyone thought this was okay at all but I'm not surprised it's a men's changing room.

As a New Zealander, I'm just glad to see some positive media coverage regarding those who helped out and prevented as many deaths as possible. Hats off to this man.

They're playing on the fact that the majority of the population don't know how to read statistics/facts and what they mean beyond the one statement. Chasing those likes and comments.

All I can say to that is: Get a damn hobby! If "ladies and gentlemen" and "men and women" are getting you riled up, find a better hobby.

If you had found me like four years ago I would have debated and discussed til the end of the earth but now while I have an opinion I don't really care about the outcome on this. Paid for, not paid for. Doesn't matter to me.

It's not so much that I don't care for discussion, it's more that a) I don't believe we'd find a middle ground and b) I don't really get involved in trans topics very much anymore as I don't particularly find it very interesting. Being transgender is a very minimal part of my life now that I'm much further down the line.

Thanks for the information, I don't believe you're going to change my mind though.

Can you imagine the reaction if the subject were different? Like explain why you should be a pro lifer or pro gun or become a Republican. Hell would break loose.

It's certainly a complicated issue to tease out which I don't assert to be an expert of anyway. I didn't really want to debate about it but that was part of why I got kicked out and whatnot.

I am open to being wrong about it but I've found little to change my mind so far about lack of dysphoria because I feel like a lot of people think dysphoria is simply boohooing all the time and true emotional agony and it's not, it can just be discomfort. I just don't see why someone who doesn't feel discomfort about their assigned gender would want to transition at all and I don't know why tax payers should foot the bill if it's a cosmetic choice they're making. Either way, I'm not controlling …

I do recognise that people claim that but I've not met anyone who says that they don't have dysphoria while trans that doesn't have dysphoria in less obvious ways. Not ruling it out as a possibility simply because I don't understand it but I'm against government paying for that treatment. I'm not against funding it yourself or via insurance or something like that. I personally just don't see why you would transition at all without dysphoria but I'm no gate keeper by any means as I have no influe…

Primarily the ones that made them made were: - Wage gap doesn't exist and the earnings gap that does exist is created by life choices - Transgender people who have no dysphoria at all shouldn't get paid for transition treatment, but they can foot the bill themselves. - That free speech and religion are important rights to protect.

I've never heard of it but I'll certainly give a look into it. :D

It's alright, it's been a fair while now but as someone else in this thread said, if you lose a friend for your beliefs, they're not worth having around. Just don't be surprised if it does happen.

Yep, then one of them tried to get me banned from all the LGBT spaces on campus, including making things up that I had said which weren't true.

No kidding. As soon as I wasn't a lesbian any more, I was just a regular woman hating man so. Out with the trash I went.

I got completely removed from a friend group that I'd been close with for over a year because they finally got sick of my "constant sexism". They tolerated my beliefs until I transitioned though. Once I consistently looked like a man I was ghosted and blocked lol.

It can certainly vary from city to city and country to country. I moved countries last year and it's definitely different where I live now when people find out about me.

I'm quite glad to have experienced both sides of the coin personally, gives me a chance to call things out that aren't true/are exaggerated. I'd certainly like to comment on here more!

Transgender man here. Lived as a guy for four years now and I thought that I didn't think it would be as amazing as feminists liked to claim but I was surprised by that the change was even bigger than I expected? I suppose? As the other commenter said, I do feel like I get taken more seriously in general now but I'm definitely seen as more of a threat and I have to be careful with how I act around people, especially strangers.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
