Step 1: Realize you're a man. No one will help you. Step 2: Figure out what needs to be done to make the situation go from crappy to not-so-crappy. Step 3: Figure out how to make the not-so-crappy situation better. Usually searching online to see if someone was nice to share their solution to a similar problem works. If they haven't, search for specific parts of your problem. What has you stumped the most? Fix that first. Then repeat until the situation is either fixed or livable.

Bring up the suicide rates of men to him. That should hit him harder than anything else if he's a worthwhile doctor. Especially when you center it around the psychiatric community failing nearly half of the population.

Really, your best option really is to make a small joke about one of the flaws pointed out, laugh a little, then change the subject to something less confrontational. Owning your flaws does not mean to be proud of them, just accept them, show you're comfortable about them, and if you can't change them then so what?

Don't be proud of the flaws, but accept them. Turn them into a joke and laugh at yourself "yeah, I know I have that bump on my head, but the doc said my brain got so massive, it had to go somewhere" followed with a laugh. I find that, if someone keeps pointing out my flaws and I just laugh at them and do a mild self-deprecating joke, I come out on top.

I would guess she gave you a cell number, so leave a voicemail. Just state who you are, that you had a great time at the event you met her at, and that you were calling to invite her to dinner. For a voicemail, keep it short and to the point. Know exactly what you're going to say before calling and don't stumble through it.

I received a postcard a week before I turned 18, so I was reminded about it because I had it sitting on my computer desk. Then the school said we had to register for SS to get our diploma. I told them I had already registered, but they said "well, just do it again." Over and over again. SMH.

This reminds me of when I turned 18. I had registered on that day. Then, a bunch of teachers made us register again so we could get our diplomas. I loved how they didn't talk to each other because I registered 8 times. If they ever have a draft, I expect to get 8 notices and have to stand in line 8 times. Hopefully they'd catch on after 3, but this thought makes me laugh so hard.

Just feel comfortable in your own skin. Clothes can help but they're not everything. Everyone around you has to wear the same thing, so in a way, you're on even ground.

The clothes and places that you're comfortable in are that way because you choose it. The mindset that comes with choosing where you socialize and your clothes needs to be a part of who you are. Clothes doesn't matter if you can carry the mindset of "I am awesome, and you will be lucky to know me." I would say yes. Only because it seems that you don't have many friends to start off with. You are more likely to find someone you connect with if you have your close circle of friends suggest someone. They should know you the best, and should be able to know who you would get along well with. Why limit who you talk to? Age shouldn't be a factor on who you talk with. When I was 14 I used to talk to 40-50 year olds because they had experiences that I have not. They also had knowledge that I did not have and this knowledge is what I found fascinating. Limiting who you reach out to limits who you are.
