Yeah, well polyamory isn't so much making monogamy work as trying something almost entirely new, at least on this scale. Not really. Lots of traditional societies were/are polyamorous. It's arguably the most natural form of human coupling. I actually think classic 'swinging' is the most promising adaptation to monogamy. You share the adventure sexually, and keep it primarily sexual. You don't do it until your relationship is very solid, which is when the need for sexual variety really starts to …

The first question you should ask to determine whether a study is worthless cherry picked woo woo is to see if the sample size is too small. lol, it's also the first thing scientifically illiterate morons attack when they don't like the findings of a study. I see this on reddit a lot, but particularly in TRP. There'll be a well-designed study with 600 participants showing something positive about women, and red pillers will howl "not a big enough sample size!!" It's honestly regular as clockwork…

The lack of statistical understanding is mind boggling here sometimes. Oh my God. Don't get me started. It drives me crazy. Red pillers claim to be so "objective" and "rational" and claim to value "realz over feelz" and they never fucking do. It's so frustrating. They believe whatever feels true, regardless of whether the data supports it or not. This one of the issues with the excessive focus on the so-called 'glass ceiling'. I do believe that for various biologically-rooted reasons, you will a…

it is really tough to say pair up 90% of the adults in a way such that the female hypergamous impulses are sufficiently satisfied that there is adequate sexual desire and overall satisfaction in the relationship. The math just doesn't work. I think there are ways to make it work. I mentioned polyamory in my OP, I think that's a decent solution for a lot of women. The problem really is that there's a small but significant population of men who just aren't attractive to any women at all. I really …

Ok let's call naturally attractive-unattractive then if it will make more sense to you. This... doesn't solve the problem. "Naturally attractive" isn't a descriptive term. It's a circular term. Do you... do you really not see that this definition has the exact same problem that the last one had? And if you don't, then why don't you? Why are you all so dumb?? For example a typical short balding guy. Simple. Took me 2 secs to think of one. Oh, my God. Okay, so a guy who's short and balding must be…

Well, culture itself doesn't tend to come from nowhere. Typically, cultures flow in the same direction as biology. I agree, but culture also reinforces biology. Small biological differences become big cultural differences. At any rate, as long as we all remember that wherever the curves sit, they overlap to a great degree, we should be able to avoid the worst problems from entertaining an idea like this. HAHAHAHAHA good luck with that around here.

Well, I do think that there is a lot of truth to the idea that in general, men are more interested in ideas and things, and women are more interested in people. There's some truth in it, maybe. I'm a woman, and I'm vastly more interested in ideas than in people. I share a house with a female engineer who is the same way. I suppose I may be selecting friends on the basis of their similarity to me. I think a lot of this observation might be based on cultural tendencies rather than hardwired biolog…

Hypergamy isn't a bad term, really. Maybe it has too much baggage now to be useful. I mean, it was fine in its original social science locale. It's become kind of muddied outside of it. Pickiness would simply entail comparing men to each other and then picking your best option, or choosing to pick nothing if nobody meets your standards. Hypergamy includes that, but is also about how he has to be above her herself in some hard to define criteria--criteria that are somewhat fluid in terms of how t…

Could it be because we're complex creatures? Yes, we are complex creatures. Far too complex to be meaningfully reduced down to a simple alpha/beta binary. And even this uselessly broad Also explain Your definition of "beta" was: "a male which is never desired and prioritized for pairing as a whole not just sex." This doesn't tell us anything about what a "beta" actually looks or acts like. It's not a descriptive term. It's a circular term. Men are betas because women don't like them, and women d…

But you see the underlying issue: where is the alternative to TRP? Yeah, I do. I literally just said as much in my reply to another poster. I concede that TRP is fulfilling a need that a lot of men have, even if it isn't fulfilling it very well. One has to ask oneself 'why is TRP popular'? There are a lot of reasons for it, but the biggest one is that where outside of the manosphere does one get an alternative to so much of the politically correct drivel? I mean, I genuinely think there are plac…
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/21 10:44 AM

But at the higher level, when engaging the better posters, it really is harder to get women to try to construct alternate constructs and hypotheses for broad scale social dynamics. At least that is my experience. I suppose it's possible that I'm only noticing the morons, and this is a red pill forum, so 90% of the morons are male. I could be totally missing that the smartest and most sophisticated contributors are also male.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/21 10:30 AM

The simpliest definition of human beta male is a male which is never desired and prioritized for pairing as a whole not just sex. Yeah, this definition is also circular. And even this uselessly broad, utterly circular definition is controversial. Other red pillers would not necessarily agree with you on this. The whole system is based on alpha-beta dichtonomy and dual mating strategy of women. Those are just concepts derived from real life experiences explained in evolutionary perspective. Yes, …

For example, it is frustrating that women do tend to resort to anecdotal experience a lot on this board in areas where it really isn't appropriate. HAHAHAHAHA HARD DISAGREE. I notice this exact problem time and time again with red pill men, and very rarely with women. 90% of red pill men literally don't understand the difference between anecdotes and science. Like, they intuitively understand it well enough to criticize somebody else's anecdotal evidence, but they don't understand that their own…

I think you have, understandably, misread me. I am by no means red pill. Well that explains why you're giving me intelligent feedback... As an aside, it should be noted that the AWALT/AMALT formulations are not read as being entirely literal by the most sophisticated Red Pillers. I mean, sure. The more intelligent a red piller is, the less likely he is to believe TRP in its entirety. What does that tell you about TRP? Also, the meaning of 'prefer' is important here, too. What does that actually …

I mean, I tried to "steelman" the hypothesis as it exists. Like, I gave a lot of credit to the idea that women are just lying about everything to everyone, which is not an idea that I think actually merits a lot of indulgence. But yeah, it's a dumb hypothesis that obviously isn't true, so there's only so much steelmanning it can take.

This is far and away the most compelling evidence anyone here has submitted for the "shared Chads" theory, thank you! A few caveats though. It's worth noting that this is still only a 10 point difference. So at most, even in Norway, it's 10% of women who are "recycling" men. Certainly not compelling proof that "most women would rather share a Chad than monopolize a beta." Also, the study notes that these men might simply be delaying fatherhood. The study cuts off at 45, so we don't know if these…

Red pillers don't understand the difference between scientific data and anecdotes, news at 11. Educate me please. When you infer general rules from your personal experience or from the experience of people you talk to, that's anecdotal evidence. When a scientist devises a study to objectively measure a phenomenon, that's scientific data. Only about 2% of the red pillers in this thread have demonstrated an understanding of the difference, so there's no need to feel self-conscious about your ignor…

Your boyfriend sounds like a keeper :) As for the competing, I’ve only ever met one woman who tried to compete with me for a man, and she lost. And it sounds like this woman wanted to usurp you rather than share your man with you, so this isn't even a single anecdotal point in support of the "shared Chads" theory lol No woman with an ounce of self respect shares or chases someone else’s man, and neither will they stick around for a cheat, regardless of his looks, height, bank balance or dick siz…

My comment was about what seemed to be a search and destroy attitude for TRP in general, not so much this particular question. And the point was I don't see you ever saying things like "TRP may be on to something here but overreached" Also not sure what you mean by this. I haven't really commented in PPD until the last week or so, so I'm not sure if you're confusing me with someone else?

There is evidence that show that very few women who become first time mothers with men who are 40 or older, do so with men who are also first time fathers. This is interesting if true. Congratulations for making easily the most original point on the red pill side of the debate. Now the question is, can you substantiate your claim with an actual source?

Sorry i cannot provide you scientific data (which consists of anecdotes) Red pillers don't understand the difference between scientific data and anecdotes, news at 11. We all have skills to observe women's tendencies and behaviours when it comes to dating, you don't need numbers to see if a phenomenon is real or not. And the point was I don't see you ever saying things like "TRP may be on to something here but overreached" or any attempt to harvest any truth that might be in TRP. The reason I don't like this approach is that I've noticed that TRP philosophy in general is very elastic. Things are not binary. Some of TRP can be somewhat true. This is meaningless. Any insane generalization is somewhat true. Yes, because Chad has to provide for her and the children. Why doesn't he just limit his harem to employed women, always use a condom, and get a vasectomy? Chad has to appease all the women and make them happy. So not all men want a part of this contract. Also, you will have betas to fight with over resources. Betas aren't going to gladly give up their own resources so Chad can have a harem. This is so utterly ridiculous. You are actually trying to argue that the reason women don't form harems i…

It probably isn't occurring as much red pill portrays the issue, but it is occurring. The red pill hypothesis is that "most" women would prefer to share a Chad. Not that some of them would. So we can conclude then, from the evidence that we've seen, that the red pill hypothesis is false. I'm suggesting it is similar to polygamy. that many men have a harder time finding a partner, and that women are just taking their turn with the same men. The fact that you have 15% of men that are struggling to…

Therefore, in this situation, is monogamy worth $4000/month to this woman? I sincerely doubt it. Evidence, please. This is a thread discussing evidence. I'm not interested in hearing about what you personally believe.

Does not says that women are not so clear defining attractive males? No. It says there's less consensus among women as to which men are attractive. It says nothing about how "clear" women are on their attraction, that literally just wasn't something the study looked at.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/21 03:59 AM

You adressed that women can't be clear as men are. No, I didn't... that's not what that study says...

What backs up my conclusion, even more, is OLD. When you have an app that allows you access to men out of your league you can easily just pick the best one you like and use that SAME guy or guys for just sex. This is just further proving that you don't understand the difference between anecdotes and data.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/21 03:53 AM
1

Is there any evidence of this? Yes- I just pointed it out. No, you didn't. You provided speculation, and then admitted that you didn't have any data to back it up. Consider for a moment you haven't provided any evidence to support your view that red pill is wrong. Yes, I have. I provided three separate studies. That is evidence. You're conflating "evidence" with "proof", which is something I've noticed red pillers do a lot. This claims that there is about a 14 point gap in non married men and wo…

Yes, you did this, but you only used a few studies. I wouldn't say that is holistic I shared all the studies I could find that appeared relevant. A general dearth of research isn't a failing on my part. or conclusive. Of course it isn't conclusive... I'm arguing that science is never conclusive...

Most women are able to share a Chad far more often than a man Is willing to share a women. This isn't how most red pillers understand or explain this phenomenon. You are being deliberately obtuse if you argue otherwise. And I'm not In the business of teaching basic concepts in math or stats. You can look it up. Hmm, you have evidence but you don't want to share it. Curious...

my study shows age group of 18 to 30. Then for you to be right that would mean these women are averagely dating men a decade older. Rather ridiculous. Uh, no. Women dating older men is one of several factors contributing to this effect. Far more likely women are all banging the same guy in college, as everyone admits. "It's legit, just trust me bro" isn't evidence.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/21 03:44 AM

I prefer reals over feels, personally. I understand that not everybody is like that though. You, like most red pillers, prefer to interpret the world based on emotions and anecdotes. And you know what? That's okay. Your way of interpreting reality is valid. You are valid. Have a hug.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/21 03:42 AM

You've seen the data on the rise of male sexlessness, have you? Yes. That should explain exactly why there is a high disparity and why women have are having more sex than men and are sharing the same dudes. Nope. Or do I need to break it down for you? Please do.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/21 03:39 AM
2

Not all of it. The fact that they find 80% not attractive shows that they like Chad at least physically I've addressed this.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/21 03:37 AM
2

If you are aware of basic math you then can understand the idea of compounding rarity. Why don't you explain this concept for the group. In societies where polygamy is allowed it's quite common. Incorrect. Most women don't want to share a Chad. The evidence just doesn't back you up on this.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/21 03:36 AM

By all objective metrics, women who are sharing Chad are a tiny percentage of the female population. So no, it's not as insane as redpill says it is yet, nor is it ever likely to be.

The evidence is based on women's stated preference for sexual partners. I addressed this. When those above average men understand how above average they are. They will have multiple women. Support this with evidence, please. Not with speculation. But I've heard many many women say that they'd rather share a high value male than have a single lower value man. This is not evidence. This is an anecdote.

10% or more is not a small percent of women. Is 10% of women most women? It could be possible that 25-40% of men have a hard time finding a girlfriend because all they other women are just rotating through the top tier men. Yes, it could be. Is there any evidence of this? I don't have data to back this up Oh. So we agree that the red pill hypothesis isn't supported by the data as it stands, then?

Most of what you said makes sense, but I was saying this is what you are doing. But that's not what I was doing, though. I was looking at the research holistically, and analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of each study to infer the general truth. You were treating the OKCupid study as the final word on human sexuality, which is something red pillers do a lot. It's a very unscientific way of engaging in science. I don't think most women want to share chad. Well that's a real problem then. Beca…

It may not be a methodological flaw, but it wouldn't be conclusive enough to say the red pill is false on hypergamy. Of course it isn't conclusive. Science isn't conclusive. Science is progressive. I've noticed this is something red pillers do a lot. They think they can point to a single study and say "this is the final word on human sexuality". It just isn't how science works. This study is flawed, because it only mentions that women disagree with what men are attractive. This is not a methodological flaw. This is an interesting and well-established finding with immediate relevance to the subject at hand. And there is such a study- the OKcupid study- which is probably about a good as any scientific study or even better, because there would be less incentive for women to embellish the truth. lol, tell me you don't read a lot of science without telling me you don't read…

One major struggle, at least in America, would be to secure family leave, better wages, and affordable daycare, which you could call a feminist struggle if you want, but most mainstream feminists would probably denounce it (see their reaction to Bernie Sanders). That's why average women don't care about exclusivity that much. They would rather share 0.35% men instead of commiting someone at their level. Do you have any numbers to support this? Even with the growing acceptance of polyamory and alternative lifestyles, by far the majority of women I know are in monogamous relationships. Every study I've seen suggests that this is the prevailing trend both nationally and internationally. As far as I can tell, the overwhelming body of objective evidence clea…

I mean, there are lots of reasons. You mentioned two of them. And when I asked what your question was, I meant your first question in the thread. You asked "Why are you having sex with men when it hurts?" This is an odd question. People like to express love in a physical way, and sometimes it hurts. I don't understand what it is about this experience that's not making sense to you.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/21 07:54 PM

Women are not required to erase fear from their life and are still wanted and accepted by men as they are. They are allowed to be emotional about their insecurities, shyness, fear of rejection, dislike for their aging bodies, trauma from bad parenting, etc... They are even more attractive because of this, where a man feels good in supporting them. Why aren't men afforded that allowance? I think they are, no? Listened to the men in PPD. Applied all positive rules: women should be kind, compromising, nurturing, sexually enthusiastic, and make an effort to look good. Disregarded all negative rules: women should be tattoo-less, women should be virgins, women should follow orders. If I'm with a man and he uses redpill terminology in front of me and can't give a reasonable explanation about why he knows it, instant dump.

Partly an issue of technique, yes. Also probably an issue of psychological over-stimulation from pornography. Would the same apply to vibrators? Cause I haven’t found that to be the case. Not as far as I know. Habitual female masturbation generally helps women orgasm with a partner.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/21 02:06 PM

Trans athletes are setting records across the boards. No. They're not. This is misinformation. There's no evidence at all that trans women meaningfully outperform cis women.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/21 02:05 PM

My understanding is that porn-induced ED is caused in part by the "death grip" men use when they masturbate. Basically they grip too hard, become desensitized to that level of stimulation, and then a normal vagina will never be tight enough for them.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/21 01:52 PM

to me, you're not the enemy. Men are. This really isn't true. I know a lot of men who I love and respect, and who would never do anything to hurt anyone. Evil men are definitely out there and they need to be defeated, but they aren't the majority.

Women athletes who (exposed to their sport and train regularly) have to compete against transsexuals and are blown out of the water. Yeah, this isn't actually true. People who don't know much about biology look at the trans athlete debate and assume that trans women shouldn't be competing with cis women if they've gone through male puberty. The reality is that biology and hormone therapy are a lot more complicated than that, and the scientists who actually study this aren't at all convinced that…

that (insert heartthrob celeb here) didn't do anything for them until they played a certain role This is absolutely true for most women. It takes quite a lot to be a heartthrob, and often attractive actors don't obtain heartthrob status until they get cast in a role that appeals to female fantasies. Women like handsome men, but handsomeness alone isn't enough.
