Just ignore them. Nothing you do is going to change who they are, so don't disrupt your peace of mind.

Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries is a good one. Set in the 1920s, the main character is a badass woman who decides to become a private detective.

My mom ticks ALL of these boxes...and then some more. She is a huge narc herself and growing up would constantly pit me against anyone in her line of sight. I once got beaten up because even though i was first in my class, the score gap between myself and second ranker was not much (according to her that is). She constantly tormented me mentally and physically over everything. My dad - who otherwise has a lot of high value traits - didn't have the spine to divorce her (we are south asians and it…

Do you sometimes wish you were born somewhere else? I mean women's rights are in shambles in most places but south asia takes things to another level. Also, I have never met any hv people here(except my own dad).

This is so true! Almost all the guys in my college class had either receding hairlines or a belly or a combination of both. This was in our late teens - early twenties. We are in our mid 20s now and they look even worse on social media. NOT A SINGLE ONE HAD A GLOW UP! But we are south asians so mummy will find them a bride who is way out of their league anyway.

The actress in this screen cap is Sridevi. She passed away in 2018. She had a long and successful career and was THE BIGGEST movie star in India at one point - not just bollywood but all the South Indian movie industries as well. Only woman to be paid more than her male co-stars. She had a very tragic life! Forced to join the industry and support her family at just 5 years old - her father was a violent ZVM and mother a massive pick-me, they used her for money and abused her constantly (includin…

Rupees sign! So he is an Indian Scrote!!! I live here too and let me tell you 1) Rs. 10,000 is VERY cheap, especially when your dad is a goldsmith, actually scratch that, if you are a working professional and have offered your fiancee a ring worth merely 10k Rs then you ought to be thoroughly and utterly ashamed of yourself! Having said that, let me rephrase this in a more social context - He will be laughed at by his entire town if they knew the goldsmith's son offered his girlfriend such a che…

"I can't help but feel it's my fault" ?!! Are you kidding me? Ofcourse you SHOULD feel it's your fault, because it is. You should feel it's your fault every day for the rest of your life - even after your wife comes back home(🤞🏽) - and then pull your weight and then some and that is if she doesn't leave you first (which I hope she does). I also hate HATE how the first thing he says about her condition is "My children are going to be motherless". I am not denying that BUT what about the woman? Yo…

So true. The same can be said about him - "He gave you a cheap knock-off, does he care more about the ring(money) than he does about the relationship? After all aren't people inclined to put their best foot forward for something/someone they really want?" But scrotes would never think this way.

Thank you! I was just scrolling down and no other comment mentioned this. This may sound harsh OP but you are not even dating!! Why are you having conversation about kids with someone you are only talking to? Kids are very personal right? Why would you tell a guy who isn't committed to you about something so personal. Stop it. It's bizarre.

Hii I saw it. I feel it would have worked better as a limited series because things went from 0 - 100 really fast, thus giving the viewers little time to appreciate them. I loved all the female friendships, solidarity and the mother-daughter relationship - which was brilliant without being too on the nose like Gilmore girls. Overall okay as one time watch but I won't be tuning in again.

You did the right thing!! I would start resenting my husband if I had to clean up after him, especially his body fluids! I always used to think about having a separate room and washroom but never vocalised it because we are made to believe if we marry what's ours is theirs too(which is such BS!). FDS has made me feel comfortable with having these ideas.

Can I just say I NEVER EVER want to share a washroom with a man even if we are married?! It doesn't matter to me if he is the cleanest person in the world, I just want my own bathroom AND infact my own room where I can set up my books, my piano, my clothes, skincare and a crafts table. We will sleep in the same room at night obviously but I don't want someone breathing down my neck at all times. I am an only child and grew up with a lot of privacy, so sharing everything down to closet space and …

My Indian mother told me today that I should get married in a year or two (I am 26). When I voiced my disagreement, she said and I quote - "What even is the point in getting married at 30, that's so old!?" Boiled my blood! Edit - She is also a narcissist who would frequently resort to beating the shit out of me while I was growing up. She is emotionally abusive. I don't think she even wanted children, but you know...sOcieTY! She knows I don't like children, never have, I never played with/entert…

I have said it before and I will say it again - Your and your husband's relationship seems so healthy and fulfilling that the two of you have unknowingly set the bar for my future relationships. If I am unable to get that, I will go at it alone. I didn't invest almost a decade of my life in becoming a doctor to tolerate some scrote's and his family's tantrums in the end.

I don't think you are a hypocrite. This was terrible to read but I am not surprised. Unfortunately that's 95% of desi men for you. I wish I could explain to non-desi FDSers here just how terrible they are. I agree with everything you said...and girl Yes on the narcissist! Every time I so much as brought any painful experience up, I was called vain and a narc. I realised later on that it was just a tactic to shut me up. I think women who decide to shave their heads and wear baggy clothes just for the sake of avoiding unwanted attention are minimising themselves, it is just another way of giving up control. Hii Thank you! Your comment made me feel so validated! A lot of women and men DO hate conventionally attractive women. Everything you wrote from "I bet she is stuck up" to "She is probably an airhead" was said about me. Girl first of all what he has isn't "pride", it's "fragile ego". How can she even kiss him on his mouth?! I barfed just thinking about it. No grown woman should ever have to tell a grown man to brush his teeth, he should be embarassed enough to do so on his own, even if his parents taught him otherwise. Yikes! Honestly, never EVER marry mamas' boys. Cue to two weeks before exam - I was out of the picture(without my knowledge), the said friend's boyfriend, his friend and that friend's girlfriend had all joined the group. Hii I look around - at her relatives and friends - and all of them seem to have taken a step back (since she has a guy now ) , nobody is wondering what her life would actually be like with that guy, so I am taking a step forward. Hii They are unfortunately getting married soon (in 2ish months). She already has a master's degree but has never worked a day in her life.I advised her to get a job after her 2nd degree but she refused - I don't blame her for it, she is merely a victim of her upbringing. Her parents literally raised her to be a future SAHM. I had a male acquaintance try and neg me for putting on make-up. I usually only wear tinted sunscreen, however a few days ago I attended a friend's engagement party and wore light makeup. As for pointing out red flags - I have talked about her not really knowing him and also about her having to leave everything and spending birthday with him and taking care of his niece. She sounds like every Indian mother-in-law. In India when a guy's and girl's families meet, the one question ALWAYS directed towards the girl is -" What all household chores can you do?". The guy is NEVER asked that question. Ever. Even in families like mine, which are considered "progressive" compared to Indian standards, the story remains the same. Things are really bad in my state too. Men have massive entitlement issues and women cater to them as their handmaidens. I got lucky that my father is an HVM. My mom otoh is the biggest LVW ever. So, I unfortunately have a lot of first hand experience in what deeply internalized misogyny can do to you and people around you. The whole concept of "menstruation is unholy" was and will always remain ridiculous.

Hii! Any Indian ladies here? Do you have HV friends? If so, what ancient magic lead you to them?! Do you mind sharing? I am serious. I have been contemplating and recently concluded that I have exactly ZERO HV friends(women or men). In my 25 years I have only come across two HV people - my dad and my cousin(M). So this year although I wished them, there were no gifts or flowers. I just made a short phone call. I know you have a certain dynamic but still you deserve the same treatment, if not more. So I hope she does something nice for you this time :)

This is so thoughtful ❤ I am glad you're doing this for her. I remember last year my friends and I were in different cities on their birthdays, so I selected really nice gifts and made sure they got those exactly at midnight on their birthday. In return when my birthday arrived they forgot to wish me.

I love this! I am not American but happened to come across her name in one of our newspapers a few years ago and that's how I discovered who she was. I didn't know a lot about her personal life until her Netflix documentary a few years ago. You could tell how much Martin doted on her and how proud he was.

He wanted you to watch a FIVE HOUR LONG clip? What the hell! He does realize you have a life right? If someone were to ask me to watch a 5 hour clip, I would send them a laughing-out-loud emoji... Not even a no, just that emoji. Having said this, that person doesn't sound like a 44 year old. In fact, had you not mentioned his age I would have guessed he was 15 or something. His behavior is embarrassing. He is disrespectful... And just by the tone of this exchange I am fairly guessing this is not…

Eww! What even is that?! He is the lowest kind of scum. But I am finding it hard to muster any sympathy for her at the moment either - Imagine your boyfriend getting hard at the thought/sight of your OWN sister and a bunch of largely underage girls while being in his friggin 30s and you STILL continue to defend him!!!! As in fine, you didn't notice/refused to realize his depraved behavior earlier BUT this incident should have set off every alarm in your body . Does she even care about her sister…

I agree. Most men will literally support their molester bros in the name of "BrO CoDe". If they didn't have that ridiculous unsaid pact of keeping hush about the misadventures of their fellow men, the world would be an entirely different place!

The following words made me feel very icky - "He says he must have a higher threshold for what constitutes as porn". I think you should trust your gut.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
