Women might get raped if they debate men, so this college debate tournament banned menI fundamentally disagree with your views on the role of state. If a crime isn't directly harming anyone I think the state should not interfere. | /r/MensRights | 04/04/18 12:06 AM
Women might get raped if they debate men, so this college debate tournament banned menYou quoted the article so obviously you read it. This is a singular tournament from which men are excluded. It's not like a permanent barring of men from debate. Also being from Vermont I'm willing to bet the debate members, the only people actually excluded from this, are okay with it happening. | /r/MensRights | 03/04/18 11:50 PM
Women might get raped if they debate men, so this college debate tournament banned menIt's like if you have the world cup but you also have the under 19 world cup, sure under 19 players can compete in the world cup but a lot of them would have a better chance to shine in the under 19. It's not an issue that people over 20 aren't in the tournament. I'm not worried about exclusion in general because I'm worried about impact and not the letter of the law. People aren't being harmed by this exclusion in the tournament. It's not like there aren't tournaments for men. I mean because of… | /r/MensRights | 03/04/18 10:57 PM
Women might get raped if they debate men, so this college debate tournament banned menYeah absolutely. If you take some conventionally female dominated sport or something and men want to have their own tournament because they feel the women are better or the judges favor the women unjustly I can't see why they shouldn't be able to. I just don't think anyone is really getting hurt by this. | /r/MensRights | 03/04/18 10:42 PM
Women might get raped if they debate men, so this college debate tournament banned menThey organized a singular debate tournament w/o men. Maybe somebody can explain this to me but I just can't see how this applies to men's rights at all. In a "sport" that is traditionally male dominated and where women may feel out of place or intimidated them organizing a tournament that excludes men isn't a big deal. There's also lots of studies on how both men and women see women as less capable and by nature debate is kind of subjective so if people feel like they're suffering from discrimin… | /r/MensRights | 03/04/18 10:30 PM
| – | TIL mods delete post about a scientific study that shows male victims of domestic violence are more likely to be arrested than the ones beating them. • /r/undeleteSo it's a scary reality but still avoidable thankfully. | /r/MensRights | 10/02/17 05:31 AM |
