Screw GirlWritesWhat. She is a woman, and therefore a part of the problem. She could do the MRM a whole lot of good by just shutting the fuck up!

"#14 The United States has the highest teen pregnancy rate on the entire planet. If our young men behaved differently this would not be happening." Why is this just the fault of young men? Or is the author saying 47% of young American women are rape victims?

So why is it called "feminism"? Why do many of them oppose a male pill? Which feminists support fathers' rights, in fact where were the feminists marching along F4J and others? And why is the enforcement of gender roles even assumed to be a "women's issue" in the first place?

I agree. It may be better to talk of "people who are women" and "people who are men". A bit clunky I know, but ultimately we are all people first, and we are all individuals. It is potentially dangerous to talk of "men" and "women" as if they were monolithic groups. They are not!

Some feminists will tell you women have always held the real power, outside of the rarified spheres of big business and government, while other feminists will say the very presence of men is enough to "oppress" women, which is obviously why the male population needs to be reduced to 20% or less of the current total. And make no mistake, neither of these is good for men. For feminists, the question is not "should society be a matriarchy" (of course it should!) but "IS society a matriarchy". That …

I read something similar, ie that 50% of women treated in emergency rooms in US hospitals were there because they had suffered DV. It turns out the author of that "study" got 50% for DV by reclassifying all motor vehicle accidents as domestic assaults... You couldn't make it up - unless you're intellectually dishonest of course.

Since women constitute more than 50% of the American electorate isn't it women "marginalising" women? If too few women get into elected office it's women's fault right? Right?? Oh, and women are hardly off the political radar aren't they? Women's health, women's jobs, women's pay, women's opportunities, women's/girls' education, women's happiness, women's birth control and reproductive rights, all of these are routinely discussed by politicians of both US parties. "Men" hardly get a mention.

How can one man being exposed as the paedophillic monster that he was be a men's rights issue? Yes there are false allegations, yes there is a stigma to men working with children, and yes assumptions about men need to be challenged, but if Savile was a paedo the truth needs to come out - for the sake of his victims.

The whole argument that we shouldn't imprison nonviolent offenders is ludicrous. Repeat shoplifting, drug dealing, serious fraud, and tax evasion all cause damage to society. So why shouldn't people convicted of these sorts of offences be imprisoned? There are more ways to harm society than hitting someone in the face... And I agree with the argument that gender should not come into play with how someone is sentenced. Justice should be applied equally, or it is not justice.

But Haana Rosin has shown the deep level of contempt all mothers have for their sons. Deep down, all women hate men, even those closest to them. In her dark heart a woman feels all men are her potential rapist.

Giving fathers paternity leave would be a tacit admission that dads matter too. And that is something feminists will not admit to, even when moaning about women being burdened with the work of caring for children.

I get the idea that men are to blame whenever we are in "decline" or not. If we are, it's because we aren't smart enough to compete with women in our "equal society", and our natural failings are now being cruelly exposed by today's smart, intelligent, and liberated women. But if we are NOT in decline, then we are still in the wrong, because it proves women still have to work harder to get half as far, that men still stand in the way of women's equality, and all this proves we still need feminis…

I wonder how well the first few Races for Life went? Were they roaring successes, were they massively over-subscribed? Or were they simply given time and space to grow by themselves? The mistake CRUK made was judging the success after a couple of years of their men-only by the same standards as the success of Race for Life now, which has had years to grow and gain interest. But of course, it might be that CRUK wanted the male-only events to "fail", so they'd have an excuse to not try again...

I can imagine men such as yourself are precisely the type of man to whom any male pill will be marketed - men in long term relationships, who want to share the burden and privilege of fertility control with their partners. Therefore, initially at least, the points surrounding STDs will be somewhat moot.
/r/MensRights24/09/12 04:29 PM

Can women be trusted to take the pill? Many can, some can't. But does that take away women's right to birth control? No, so the same standards should apply to men. Many men can be trusted, some can't.

Of course, because we've all witnessed the life-affirming impacts bringing up children in a father-less community can have. Places like Detroit, LA and inner-city London... oh, hold on.

In the long run, I predict these developments will mean nothing to the large majority of women, just like the research into artificial sperm and cloning will make no difference to men. What it will do is allow men to bypass relationships with toxic women, and that can only be good all round.
/r/MensRights24/09/12 04:18 PM

ManWomanMyth made much the same point in his excellent youtube video series. The funding and attention given to women's sport is taking away from much more deserving male athletes, all of whom are better/faster/stronger than the "best" women.

"Who gives a stuff what women want?" That is the attitude today's men need to adopt. Don't you see? Traditional vs stay-at-home, career women vs have-it-all, earn her own money vs rely on hubby's income. It's all about WOMEN. Not what you lot want, which doesn't even figure. And while we bend over backwards to ensure we don't get labelled "misogynist", White House policy chiefs are busy taking note of What Women Want. All of these discussions leave out one crucial factor - men. It's about time a…

Apparently it is against professional guidelines for an interviewer in the UK to ask a (presumably female) interviewee questions relating to her marital status, or her attitudes to motherhood etc. So if such questioning is wrong when it's male to female, I don't see why it should be OK when it's the other way round. Expect more incidents like this when women come to dominate managerial, supervisory and other senior roles.

Women control more than 70% of household spending. But this isn't in any way a problem. Women hate it when their husbands hang around with their still single friends. But this is no problem either. So these scenrios will not come under the remit of these new guidelines. Because we all know women's behaviour is never ever a problem, don't we?
/r/MensRights21/09/12 11:10 PM
-4

The only problem with this is when it become an organised political movement, like feminism. What we as individuals feel is nobody else's problem - until that person makes it a problem for others through their actions. Take me as an example - I am a bachelor, I have only male friends, and eschew contact with women as much as possible. The fact I hate women doesn't actually harm anyone.
/r/MensRights21/09/12 10:08 PM

Right on cue. But answer me this - what is wrong with hating women? Seriously. We are all free people with our own insights, opinions, and experiences. If all of this leads me to a position where I genuinely hate a group of people - in this case women - why is that "wrong"? I have no desire to hurt anyone, it's just in my heart of hearts, deep down, I hate women. So... what? It's my life, and I live my life in peace. I commit no crimes, and have no intention of inflicting harm onto anybody else.…

That's the point. As a group women are at war with men as a group. To whom will Pres. Obama be making his electoral pitch this November? Not to men, but to women. Why? Because women don't vote as right wing or left wing, or socons or liberals, but as women. And with another election dominated by discussion of women's issues, men as a section of the population will be overlooked. So yes, men are competing with women for resources, attention, taxpayer funded projects, healthcare, and incresingly p…

/r/MensRights20/09/12 11:39 AM

I disagree. Personally I think we are at war with women. We are competing for educational resources, healthcare, and increasingly political representation. Women-only spaces may be relatively niche at the moment, but make no mistake the systemic marginalisation of men is sooner than you think. If men don't start fighting back now we can kiss goodbye to our social and political rights and freedoms. And we must fight the enemy whoever they are, even if they are women.

I notice the old "low risk to the public" argument is being wheeled out again. But let's look at it this way: how many people in prison for VAT fraud or tax evasion represent a "threat to the public"? Not many I'll warrant, yet the UK and most other jurisdictions will imprison people for financially motivated crimes. Just because a person may represent no physical threat to anyone doesn't mean they shouldn't be sent to prison. And if there are plenty of women who "shouldn't" be in prison, how ma…

No, you don't get it. Patriarchy is a way of allowing men to rule the world and blame women. Oh no, what I meant was patriarchy was a way to get women to run the world so men could sit back and eat pretzels all day, but to make it convincing we needed to oppress women - while they were actually in charge the whole time - thereby allowing women to forget they were in charge all along. Does this man have sons? It would be interesting to know if he thinks they are as worthless as every other man/boy...

Neil Armstrong has sadly passed away. The first human to set foot on the moon was apparently (using the logic of this NYTimes screed) an unworthy, second-class version of humanity. So remember that when you think of misandry and how utterly illogical it is - even one of the great pioneers of human history can be dismissed as an inferior being simply on account of his sex. Misandry is the default setting in the mainstream media, and is only getting more vocal.

That's good to see. At last there is some recognition that issues around rape and consent can go both ways. Thumbs up from me!

It could be an anti-feminist trying to discredit feminism. Maybe. And that could be someone of either sex.

Same here. But let's face it, men can be their own worst enemy sometimes. If a man only cares about whether or not his boss is "hot" then that's up to him, but please don't think that's how all men think. That kind of attitude only does a disservice to all male victims of sexual harrasment.

Hi, I'm a newbie and I have a question for you all - what's SRS? Is that a feminist reddit?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
