Yes, I came here to say to that it helped me in some aspects, but I couldn't get on board with all of it. I realized I didn't want to be naive but neither bitter and suspicious.

This is bang on, to be honest it's shining a light on just how cruel you have to be to do this to someone!! I know this is common and bad but wow.....

Hey if one person is saved from an abusive relationship then FDS is totally justified (not that it needs to be). Glad you are now free.

I was in your Mother's position, also worked, and I gotta say the kind of Mum I was changed for the worse. I'm divorced now and I still struggle to play with them, that part feels destroyed.

Also women our age aren't usually vaccinated against HPV. So when you give a man oral we are risking our lives, I've just attended a head and neck cancer conference and it was kinda traumatic seeing the pictures.

Yep pick me friends can be super dangerous and they need to be vetted or you shouldn't listen to them. I have one that's so messed up in an abusive relationship but she's very protective of me and loving in her way. But if I had any man problems, its always have I given him a chance or did I show him enough affection, and it's always prolonged the pain with the wrong person.

The interesting thing is the language he used to deflect any responsibility on himself. I'm not blaming you at all, but did he sound like that over other more minor things??

So true, had a friend like that, I'm ashamed to say I was there for her for 10 years through multiple boyfriends. Trust me these types aren't there for you when you need them either, that's finally what woke me up to cut her out of my life.

Same sis, so proud of you! Past trauma makes it super hard to have boundaries, I'm discovering that it applies to platonic friends as well. If you can't hold up healthy boundaries with female friends then you're not ready to date, you are way to vuberable.

I'm ashamed about this now but my ex husband always hid from doing anything with our child or the house, he used his business for that reason. I coped ok even though I was also working, but the Crux was when we had our second child. All of a sudden he had to be there every night to help out, especially as we had a refluxy new born. And he was very resentful about being tied to help out. You need to have these conversations ladies with your partner. We didn't talk in detail but he was way worse t…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
