1	How do you feel about your genes dying off? Do you understand how reproduction works? Even only a handful generations of your offspring later will have nothing in common with you. 99.9999% (a lot more 9s than that) of people will not contribute much to the gene pool, whether they have 1 or 10 children. 3	How do you feel about your genes dying off? Even if you have 12 children, your genes will vanish after a couple of generations. All you've done is given the slightest, slightest nudge pushing the gene pool to look more similar to your personal genome. If you really want to pass your DNA on you need to have thousands and thousands of children, which is pretty much impossible unless you're a tribal warlord.
