Thank you. In my few weeks journey with this stuff, STFU is by far the most difficult. Also creating a true mission has been tough. That being said, last week served as a stark reminder of how much work I need to do. So far, much better this week but I need to override that instinct to not be a little bitch. Hate writing that but it’s so true.

Thank you. Totally agree.

OYS #2 Gonna keep this one brief as I’m on an extended vacation but a few things happened this week. Stats: 50yrs old, married 25. 5’11’’ 185 (I’ve gained 5 lbs, all muscle it seems). Reading: Reread MMSLP, first time read MAP (Kay makes it seem so easy, perhaps it is), I’ve got a a lot of red and yellow items to address. Re-read the D portion of SGM. Remember that. this last week: For the first time in my life, I’ve started tracking my food intake, in an attempt to eat at least 180 grams of pro…

Thanks for this. In my quest to actually do this work, I’ve found I totally am hooked at the gym. I’d never worked out really in my 49 years when I started going. I. 6-7 short months my body has completely transformed, and that’s just me hitting the machines hard, no direction, etc. I’m devouring this stuff, thanks for the book recommendation, I’ll be for sure getting it. Hey- at the end of the day, regardless of how my marriage works out, I’m gonna be in the top 5% of guys my age as far as phys…

Thank you for the detailed reply. You are absolutely correct. I have no mission. For 20 years my mission was: be a good dad, provide for my family. One could argue how well I did the dad part, but I have certainly provided for my family, in abundance. But you’re right- I have no other mission. Hobbies? A few, but it’s just things I do while waiting to cook dinner or go to the next event, etc. One of my traits that got me where I am today is I’m a voracious researcher. Once I’m into a topic I con…

You know one thing that has impressed me with many of the “elders” of this group is this very type of thing: breaking down something that seems so overly complex, so insurmountable, into ways that any of us can relate and understand. Thank you for the welcome, I intend to stick with this. I am starting to understand thanks to replies like these.

Ah thank you, wow. Funny. That just happened to me last week. Wife was stunned to say the least.

Thanks for the link. Another reply pointed to me Phracks Greyskull I’ve been learning that today, recording my food intake for the first time in my life, re-read MAP by Kay today and really taking a good look at myself. Yesterday I would’ve said I was 100% focused on pussy 100% of the time. That’s not quite true as I realized today, but it still seems to be the main driving factor in my daily activities. I’ve really been struggling with putting my Mission into words but what you wrote is so eloq…

Thank you for this. I needed some direction.

I hear you. I may have 1 day left. If the last year has taught my anything it's life is short. I've lost both my young parents suddenly in the last few years, both from horrific freak accidents. Put a perspective on things, now I need action.

the "Bliss" video wasn't for me. I'm not gonna 'retain my semen' because my wife won't fuck me. That's the whole problem, isn't it?

Wow. At first glance I don't. I mean I agree with all four statements. But if I've maybe learned a damn thing, I'd say both sentences that start with the "I" are "my" frame, the others being hers. That's how fucked up I am. I agree with all four - I see the difference, but all are valid. I'm fucked, right?

No I have been thinking non-stop about it. Sex (or lack thereof) has defined me for SO long I don't know what I can find to "replace" it as my top priority. Still directionless.

Hurts to learn/hear, but this is 100% true, I know it deep in my heart.

What a year of owning your shit looks like. I see you were "turned down sex for the first time", buddy you were nowhere near where I am in this regard. Thousands and thousands of times. I'm an idiot for keeping at it. Thank you however, your year of OYS is inspiring.

Ah good question. We have one kid, who is out of high school and trying to figure out next steps. I told myself ten years ago once the kid was out of school I was out. I don't know why I haven't jumped ship, except for one thing: I know it would destroy her. I love her, I just don't know if I could ever do that to her, even at the cost of my own misery. Sometimes I wonder if that's the definition of love: sticking around pretty miserable because of fear of hurting her. Or else it's just another …

here goes. Start of a new chapter: OYS #1 Stats: 50yrs old, her 50, married 25 years. 5'11", 180lbs. Been working out 4-5 days a week religiously since Jan. I have a set rotation of machines I hit, but I have no real direction in the gym. That being said, I've gotten noticeable gains across the board. 6 pack showing. Reading: I read NMMNG about a year before discovering MRP, and have pretty much read 90% of the sidebar. I can tell reading them once isn't going to let it sink in. I need to intner…

Thank you for these, you are exactly right. I used to be driven by making her my plaything, now I'm just gonna work on me. Obviously the other way wasn't working, in fact having the opposite effect. Will get listening to "bliss" immediately.

Your first paragraph is the brutal reality MRP and askMRP made me realize, now I must face it. It's sad, pathetic, and true. Your last paragraph will be the only thing I do going forward.

You’ve just fantasized about it. yes. A lot. Thank you for making that clear. I'm going to do those things, and those things only.

...shit. Thanks for pointing that one out.
