How do you know the sample was liberal? It literally says nothing about that Because 63% of the participants stated that they believe that sexual orientation is changeable. There are practically no conservative women who believe that, so there is no doubt that most of the participants were liberal women. The sample size is also small. 1000 is a very large sample size; at that n anything that is supposed to be normally distributed is going to be normally distributed.
