The question wasn't given sincerely, and was an obvious trap. Whatever answer she gave would have been twisted to fit their narrative, and she knew it. If you think it wasn't a trap, then you answer the question and lets see how easily your words can be twisted to make you sound ignorant, culturally insensitive, or a bigot.

We all have different standards on people based on how they look. ALL OF US. It isn't noble, but it is true and it serves a real purpose. I find physical attractiveness important because it takes effort, and it is easily identifiable. If they put effort in their appearance, I find that they probably (not always, but probably) put effort into other areas of their life as well, and I LIKE people that put effort into things.
