I thought it was more fun than saying, "If the goal is to be equal, then we should contribute equally to our relationship."

I would say that due to internalized misogyny, many women still expect men to pay for the date. This is due to systemic patriarchal oligarchal subterraneous philosophical rodeo-based rhetorical oppressions that have convinced women they're physically unable to open their wallets and chip in 50/50. It's a systemic issue and we're working on it. They just need to do better and erase those misogynistic tendencies that have held them and their fellow women back for generations. They want to work and…

"Freedom" was dependent on social class rather than sex. Men and women of nobility and the upper echelons experienced life quite differently than peasants and working class folk.

International __________'s Day is stupid as a concept. It's performative and allows narcissists and corporations to pretend to care about human rights issues. We should do away with the concept as a whole.

A lot of the times, your acceptance as a non-straight man in a leftwing social circle is dependent on whether you agree with the party ideology. The moment you have a differing viewpoint, they tend to turn on you. But that's what happens when you choose your social circles based on politics and not on whether they're decent people. I have friends from all over the political spectrum. We can have debates and disagreements without getting vitriolic. It's nice. I would argue anyone who hates you be…

Once again, they're conflating it with an oligarchy. There's men and women at the very tippy top ensuring they gain more while everyone else loses. This patriarchy nonsense is just another way to distract us from the class warfare going on. Pit the men against the women, the white against the black, the straight against the gay, etc., while they rake everyone over the coals.

If you've been around enough IRL (not social media) women, you'd notice how often they try to undermine and outcompete one another. A world built on girl power will falter. We need each other, men and women. When did valuing one another become such a problem?

Cause that's what I care about as a soldier requesting air support: the colour of their skin or their genitals, not say, their aptitude as pilots. The West deserves whatever it gets at this point. I honestly hope the majority of white men turn their backs on these countries that see them as 'useless'.

Anyone can advocate for true equality of the sexes. More women would certainly be welcome here. It's tough to say with Reddit's anonymous nature, but I imagine we're 90%+ men here—not counting any brigaders or trolls that lurk in our midst.

A flawed human being, like all of us. Not perfect, but is honest and seems to genuinely care about people and stands firm on his beliefs. Objectively, one of the most misrepresented people in the cultural zeitgeist. Young men are very lost in this world that demonizes and attempts to erase masculinity. Dr. Peterson is one of the few that is actually trying to help. His speeches aren't just for men, but a lot of what he says really seems to resonate with young men. In many ways, he's like a fathe…

I think you'd be in the minority among your feminist peers if you truly believe that. Feminism used to be one of the most righteous causes one could get behind. Now, it feels more like a misandrists' club. If you believe yourself to be a feminist that doesn't hate men, then I thank you for thinking outside the hateful ideology that feminism seems to promote today. Because being the bigger person is always the harder path. We should allow anyone, regardless of sex or ideology into this space, provided they are willing to be civil and respectful. Hateful rhetoric and bigotry like what we see from modern feminists are best defeated on the battlefield of ideas and speech. If we were to close them all off, we'd be no better than they are.

I'm very recently single and approaching thirty years old. I have absolutely no idea how to navigate the dating world anymore. Get down with a fellow girl = experimenting, having fun, exploring her sexuality Get down with a fellow bro = GAY Essentially, it's more socially acceptable for women to experiment with the same sex than for men to without being improperly labeled as homosexual. There are also a HUGE amount of women who would want nothing to do with a bisexual man as there's still the stigma that he just hasn't accepted the "fact" that he's gay.

Reading this infuriates me and saddens me. If there's anything I can do, man, let me know. Marriage really isn't beneficial to men, is it? About time the journalist deaths start to be a bit more equal towards women. We just need more women in the frontlines balancing the casualty count. Many people, in a manner that demonstrates extreme sexism, will refuse to hold women accountable. I believe that women are just as responsible for their actions as men. To believe that they're not is just plainly asinine. I think it's terrible that some people have so little faith in women, that they believe women aren't strong enough to be held accountable for something. It's shameful.

Once you do this, you'll see that sex is not as grand and magical as it may seem when we're virgins. Is it fun? Yes. Can it be magical? Yes. Is it the Mecca of all experiences? Most certainly not. I think we can all sympathize with true feminist movements in the world: female circumcisions performed in Africa, China's laws regarding birth and preferences for infant boys (unsure if this is still practiced or not), and the issues regarding women's rights and religious freedoms in your area. Thank you as well for bringing up a very important topic. We definitely do have some bad apples, as any group does. It's important that we nip those problematic behaviours when they arise. Hopefully through compassion and reasoning. You can't change someone's mind by telling them they're a bad person. I see. Upon further research, it seems that "chauvinism" can mean a belief of superiority of one sex over another, usually male. I pulled the definition I mentioned earlier from the Oxford Dictionary, which I find to be the most authentic English language dictionary. Perhaps the definition you mentioned is more American. I'd prefer to use the term "misogyny" when referring to the discrimination of women, which is the opposite of "misandry" as you mentioned earlier. Rather than argue semantics, I…

Chauvinism, as defined: exaggerated or aggressive patriotism. I haven't really seen any chauvinism in this group. MRAs aren't united by nationality. What feminism stands for, at least at first glance, is completely reasonable. In these online forums, you only find extremists who tend to be misandrists. Reddit doesn't seem to be a good place for intellectual discussion. If you like echo chambers though... When I want to hear out the feminist perspective, I tend to look for those viewpoints in podcasts that stress civil discourse and freedom of expression in their format.

As much as I'd love to have a civil discussion and reach some common ground, I don't really feel like talking to someone who hates me for things out of my control. No. Humans just like seeing attractive people in their entertainment. We don't want a fat, ugly Kratos or Lara Croft. This may verge into the tinfoil hat realm, but encouraging us to hate one another is part of a means to maintain control over the population. Whether it's red Vs blue, right Vs left, men Vs women, black Vs white, whatever. Pit the sides against each other while those in control conquer both sides. Feminism used to be a powerful, important movement, but they've been infected by those that would see men ostracized at best, put to death at worst. I missed the last Legion of Evil White Males meeting. Where exactly do we get this power I've heard so much about?

I suppose it's because I believe in true gender equality.

Yes. If we're going to be pro-choice, then everyone should be given a choice, not just one half of the population. Reproductive rights for all.

I knew before even reading that this argument was not going to be made in good faith.

I'd rather be single, all things considered.

Mistake number one was giving credibility to anyone on TikTok.

When writers create a "strong female character" by writing them with common traits that are negative when embodied by men (i.e. aggression, standoffishness, refusal to ask for assistance, belittling of others, hurting those that cannot defend themselves, etc.) and expect us to accept this character as the hero A current example would be Captain Marvel.

Not a fan, personally.

Having read the thread and some of your comments, you're better off joining the US Army or the Marine Corps. Immigration without a strong set of desirable skills isn't going to work out very well for you. At least in the military, you might even get to travel around a bit too.

Hyperbole aside, things are definitely quieting down in terms of the wackos out there. Eventually people grow up and settle down.

Canadian here. I wouldn't advise it.

We've never had reproductive rights to begin with. We're probably just less shocked about it since we never had control over becoming a parent or not. Roe v Wade is clearly a women's issue. Many of us do indeed feel for you, but we have to remain focused on protecting (or at least getting, for starters) our rights when it comes to these issues. At least you could travel to a state where it's legal to abort your child. Men are at the whim of the woman if she becomes pregnant. All choice is hereby…

Because it's the right thing to do. Strangling the exchange of ideas would just turn this into another Reddit echo chamber. We need to be open to outside discourse, even if it comes from a place of misandry and hatred. It's a chance to educate and enlighten those that would seek to suppress our rights. It's not the easy path, but taking the high road seldom is.

It's unethical for sure, but start pretending to be non-binary or gay and see if that bumps you up. We're in the oppression Olympics now, anyway.

Reading, learning, and speaking up are some of the most important things you can do. As a woman, your voice tends to carry more weight in regards to social issues. Thank you for taking the time to read up and learn about men's struggles. We're all in this together.

This is a childish (go figure) attempt to slur and slander a positive movement. Either OP is trolling or really is just a child. For the case of the latter, it's only natural that someone so young wouldn't have nearly enough life experience to see the bigger picture so there's no need the confuse naïveté and juvenile beliefs as outwardly hostile. We were all kids, too. OP, I really think you need to take a step back from Reddit and just enjoy your youth. There will be plenty of time to tackle so…

No one should get drafted. That's ridiculous. Why would I want anyone to be sent to war, man or woman?

If a person doesn't meet the minimum strength requirements (which should be the same for either gender), they shouldn't get the job. Simple as that.

Nah. I just want true equality between genders.

If you'd like to avoid the glorification of pedophilia and statutory rape, I'd avoid the New York Post comment section. Yikes.

Could win over more left leaning states by campaigning for the reproductive rights of women without uteri (uteruses? Idk). Surely the reproductive rights of women capable of impregnating someone should be protected and guaranteed, no? After all, this is about women's rights.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
