I think for me its about how the friend acts towards me. If I met one and she seemed angry at my presence, I’d suspect that she had feelings for my partner and wanted him out the picture. My boyfriends best work friend is a girl and I love her despite being quite a jealous person. She seems happy to see me, she doesn’t sit on my boyfriends knee or sit rubbing his arm or chest, and she seems happy he’s dating me. If she was a part-time model, I might be slightly less enthusiastic about their rela…

There’s a Russian saying I love, “Not my circus, not my monkeys”. There’s no way to bring this us without offending your friends. If it was a sister rather than a friend, or someone you knew would react well, I’d say to tread gently. With friends, I don’t think bringing it up will reflect well on you. You obviously care a lot about them, and you don’t want them to hurt, but sometimes when it comes to other adults we need to keep quiet while they make mistakes, then be there to help them pick up …

Oh I’d misunderstood urban dictionary haha. That’s actually quite mean of him to say about her! Thank you for clarifying :)

YES! I used to be consumed by thinking I wasn’t as pretty as my boyfriends most recent ex. I casually mentioned it to one of his friends when we were drinking and he burst out laughing and said she wildly photoshopped her pictures and that she had a moon face (I don’t know what a moon face is but I googled and I think it means a disproportionately big head) I feel so stupid for worrying so much. You’re right about pretty exes meaning I’m pretty. Thanks so much for your comment.

Dread. Fear. Awkward. I have a boyfriend so any interaction is going to be awkward and not end well as I struggle to balance not bringing up my boyfriend so soon it’s awkward or leave it too late they feel lead on. Even when I was single I HATED being approached by men. I’m a pretty confident person but I don’t enjoy meeting new people. I’m not going to get into a relationship with a random stranger I don’t really know, regardless of how attractive he is, unless we have some kind of common conne…

Prenups aren’t binding in my country, but no, I wouldn’t sign it, nor would I ever ask someone to sign one. My parents are fairly wealthy, but if I had the slightest doubt that the person I was marrying was a gold digger, I’d call off the wedding rather than ask them to sign a prenup. i wouldn’t go into a wedding planning for divorce, and I wouldn’t marry someone who was. I know that people think this is naive, but one of the reasons that the divorce rate is so much higher than it used to be is …

I'd say always ask. I've had three boyfriends/sexual partners, and I've let them all have a choice. My first boyfriend liked it completely bare, my second liked it hairy but had the lowest sex drive of all time so barely saw it haha and my final boyfriend likes a variety, so I change it up for him every month or so. I think it's difficult to overestimate just how strong men's drive for variety is, and changing the downstairs is just another way you can incorporate variety into your relationship …

If someone didn't expect a higher standard of living, would it still affect relationships lasting? I grew up with a pretty ridiculous standard of living and the only men able to match it would either be working constantly or living off an inheritance, neither of which is attractive to me. My boyfriend will never make anything close to my dads income.

Could you please elaborate on how a relationship is doomed if a SO doesn't make as much as her father?

For his last birthday I cooked him a roast chicken dinner and gave him a handwritten recipe book I'd had printed for him and some nice towels. I baked a LOTR theme cake too. We became official immediately after, and I credit the roast chicken for that. His next birthday is coming up soon and I'm planning a big surprise party.

I understand what you're saying about the worst case scenario but I feel like I'm going to throw up when I think about it. I know logically I'm young and I would meet someone else but I can't feel it and I'm still guided by a completely irrational fear that this is my one chance at happiness and I'll die alone if I mess things up.

He doesn't recognize them. The new friend situation has only arisen once, but the "ex" thing is quite a regular occurrence unfortunately. All his friends are either friends with his big serious ex or a girl he was seeing while we first starting dating each other so unless he stops speaking to all his friends I don't think he can avoid them entirely. I would like him to avoid social situations when he knows they'll be there but I don't think it's worth the fight so I'm trying to focus on my own b…

My boyfriend has a theory that single women are easier to advertise to and so for this reason, magazines (who rely on advertising revenue) give bad dating/sex advice since they have a financial interest in keeping their readers single.

There's a woman at my church who is married to a professional gambler! He's an actuary but makes huge amount of money gambling. He's also the last person you'd expect to be a gambler...

Hey, not sure what the tax laws where you live are like and while I don't want to enquire as to the ins and outs of your situation, if your husband owns the company, giving you an artificially high salary (as in putting some of what's really "his") might reduce your tax bill by making profit seem smaller. If you've not spoken to a good tax lawyer already it might be worth a shot.

I might be really weird but I don't think 1) how good looking a man is and 2) how attracted I am to him aren't necessarily the same thing. An average looking man who has a lot of ambition and charisma, a sexy speaking voice and is extremely confident and a born leader OR A Hollister staff type guy, no ambition, smokes weed and drinks, not educated, worries a lot about his appearance and not particularly confident. Rationally, you can probably look at the second man and know he's technically bett…

I asked my boyfriend about this since I've always answered fast, seeing a text and waiting to respond felt false to me. I assumed it made me seem needy, his response was that it felt like I wasn't playing games. I think the whole "not playing games" makes you stand out from other women so much that it can only be a positive.

I'd totally forgotten steak and bj day!! My boyfriend took me for the most amazing meal I've ever had in what's probably the nicest restaurant in our city. I can't quite match that but I've still really stretched my budget for an nice steak restaurant. X
