Actually, women score higher in empathy according to scientific studies. As for tolerance for struggle, I believe that is dependent on the situation. Caring for sick children or spouse, high tolerance. The jar of pickles that won't open...not so much.

My parents gave been married for over 40 years. They both had daughters from previous marriages. My mom has a great love and respect for my dad. My half sisters call their non biological parent mom/dad. I don't know what ordeal you went through, but be assured, it isn't the norm.

The reason isn't laziness. Many boys fall through the cracks of the education system because of multiple factors. PPP is real, so is PPA (postpartum anxiety) and PPD (postpartum depression). The psychosis is probably the scariest of the three. My mom has a friend who's raising her granddaughter because her daughter got PPP that hasn't resolved and is living in a mental hospital. My grandma had PPD very bad and also didn't resolve. She ended up becoming an alcoholic and abused my mom. Even tried to kill her several times. This was in the 1940s and 50s.

My husband lost his job as a firefighter in 2015. My parents took out a second mortgage to pay for his education for a career change in nursing. However, he has been working for the state on orders (state guard) for the past 2.5 years after he quit his nursing job. Now we have 2 newborn babies and he will probably be unemployed by January. From reading a lot of Reddit, I've noticed a trend. When a couple fall out of love with each other and split on friendly terms, assets are usually divided evenly. However, when the husband or wife cheats, have an emotional or physical affair, treat one another not as equals, then divorce turns into a game of revenge. I don't think it is possible for an ex wife to take everything. All joint property and money is generally split, or at least should be. I know a few divorced women and they pretty much got nothing. As far as children go, it can get messy. I have a friend who didn't even get to meet his daughter until she was 6 months old. He had to take the mother of the child to court to get to meet his little girl. I think it is abhorrent when mothers deny fathers of their right to their children.

A stay at home dad is fine, too. It happens but is not the traditional way. But if it works for some families, why not? Same of the wife makes more than the husband. That's just life. The important thing is that no matter who works or earns more, money shouldn't be used in an abusive nature over the other spouse. The one earning less, or none at all, isn't leeching off the other. This is subjective and not a fact, for men in unhealthy relationships or not in one at all. If a man is married, his wife (or husband) doesn't just divorce him. If a man is in a committed relationship, he is being cared for by his partner on an emotional level. And also his family should care for him as well. I'm a woman on here because I believe there's a war against men's rights from the new age feminists and alt left. I want to support men where I can. A lot of the info and other topics I read here I share with my husband. Sometimes I will share a woman's or alternative perspective on a topic that comes up. Obviously, I don't like or appreciate blatant women bashing or misogynistic behavior. I do understand that some men need to vent after mistreatment from women and that's OK.

There's the "pink tax". Women's razors, deodorant, shampoo, and other items are a little more expensive. I've tried using men's razors on legs, they don't work so well, womens' are shaped differently. So, I guess if you don't mind women with body hair or smelling like a man to save money... Womens and girls clothing tend to cost more as well. Gym membership is the same price at all the gyms in my area in Northern California.

Women tend to be more social with friends and family, fulfilling the need for companionship. Men tend to not hang out as much with friends/family. Also when married, women usually do a large chunk or all of the housework. Men tend to not take care of themselves as well.
