Definitely don’t move in with him if it’s not something you’re ready to do. Why not accept the job & move to Boston, since this seems to excite you and sounds like something you want, but live on your own?

Looking at comparable job ads, I really don’t. I think probably around $250-$300, which is still extraordinary & def more than her husband would make. I just personally don’t believe the near $400k salary.

Where does she say she’s a contract worker? She says she’s a CRNA which is a certified registered nurse anesthetist. She also didn’t say since Covid, she just said that’s her salary. Sorry, I’m pretty sure she’s embellishing here at the very least. Maybe closer to $250k which is still very high end and definitely still a lot of money. Edit: saw it in the update. I still don’t think she’s being truthful about that part, especially since independent contractor positions for CRNAs are listed curren…

There’s some of it that’s believable, but the salary she quoted for herself is more than double what the average is in even the most well paying state for her position. So I think, at the very least, she embellished that bit. Likely still makes great money, but I have a hard time believing it’s anywhere near what she says it is.

I support this woman 100% in her decision but some women simply can’t come from fingers, including their own. Source: myself lol (Clearly realize this is not the case for her, though, I’d this is the bar she is setting).

It’s six of one, half a dozen of the other to me. Either way, in the US it’s usually a man’s name (either husband’s or father’s).

Right? Not to mention if he contributes to a 401k. I’ve seen elsewhere in the comments OP saying that “they don’t take out that much for taxes in this area”, which… if it’s in the US, I find that hard to believe given the federal governments tax rate. But even beyond that, there’s 401k, IRA, there’s health insurance. Unless the gross is severely off from what he told her, which is really unclear from the post which even mentions gross v net. I agree! I thought the same thing. The way she’s presenting it is weird. Like if he said he makes x amount, and that’s before taxes, of course his paystubs will be different?? Who says what they make AFTER taxes? That’s just weird lol… I kind of feel like she’s not understanding something here?

Like in the end as in the very end, after they’ve been together long enough to be engaged and his mother has treated her like this the entire time? I don’t know if that makes up for everything else. I’ll definitely have to watch it again.

Isn’t Andrew a bit of a mama’s boy? His mother’s a jackass, if I remember correctly. Thinks Melanie is trash and isn’t good enough for her son? She’s grooming him to be President. And Andrew doesn’t really intervene/stand up to her? Not saying he’s not better than Jake, but I remember that mama’s boy thing being a pretty big red flag for him.

I feel like there was something wrong with Andrew too, though? I’d need to watch it again because it’s been too long. The “you can’t ride two horses with one ass, sugarbean,” line always stuck with me though lol

Except studies show that a woman who own firearms are more likely to have it used against her than by her. Defensive gun use in general - by males or females - is exceedingly rare, despite what the NRA & gun lobby wants us to believe. https://www.thetrace.org/2016/05/gun-ownership-makes-women-safer-debunked/ Either way, it’s absolute bullshit that women have to deal with this garbage.

Okay, yeah you voted Green Party. Same difference. 😂 You’re just as responsible for the state of our country right now as any conservative or Bernie or Buster. Possibly even more so. Secondly, I didn’t say Bernie harped on the emails, I said his cronies did. Anyway, this conversation is over since it’s clearly as fruitless as Bernie’s two presidential runs lol

I’m super liberal (and American) but Bernie has always been a different side of the Trump coin to me, no matter how many downvotes I get for this and the previous comment. The way he speaks over and to women is appalling on top of everything else - like I don’t know who could look at his finger wagging in Hillary’s face (regardless of how people feel about her) and talking over her and yelling and be like oh yes this guy is good for women 😂

I didn’t really care about what the ring cost when I got engaged. It’s the cut I want and the diamond is of a good quality - honestly, a big diamond looks ridiculous oh my hand because it’s small, so 1 carat was the absolute max I wanted lol I do think if any party is overly concerned with the cost, it’s problematic. There are poor people who are in love and treat each other well, after all. But as others have said, if he’s buying expensive this that and then other and throwing a fit over a ring…

Me, an actor, reading this comment 👁👄👁 You’ll actually find that a lot of actors are actually quite introverted. Sure, some are extroverted and boisterous, but a ton of us are super introverted. And any good actor has an amazing inner life. But I think the sheer abundance of actors/people who simply want to be famous in LA absolutely fit the profile you described.

Nipnops 😂😂 that made me lol Honestly, it was a really difficult adjustment because I went full out and never wore one to work, even! Honestly, I personally am a very big breasted booby lady as well and I’ve just stopped caring. I genuinely think the phone is in his lap the whole time. I also don’t really know what her having his phone would actually prove, though? Except she was looking at something on it or it was next to him on the couch. I also saw a video posted from one of the guys in the video and he seems genuinely nice and says everyone definitely got the wrong vibe. I think a lot of it can be explained by an unexpected situation. People for some reason always expect people to react exactly how they would, but …

He puts something else down on the table when he does that lean, it honestly looks like a switch remote or something similar, but it’s not his phone since you can see his phone in his hand the whole time. No clue what his situation is and I agree there could definitely be something shady going on on his side, but different people react differently to unexpected things - some people (like me) really don’t like surprises and unexpected visitors (and that would also include a boyfriend). I never really drank much (and now I don’t drink at all), but on the occasion I went to Vegas with my friends, guys would often offer to buy me a drink in a club or at a bar. Without fail, I always said “sure, you’re welcome to but I’m not going to have sex with you.” And weirdly, no one ever reacted badly - I always got the drink straight from the bartender and then rejoined my friends but I was always prepared for a scene. Again, that’s fine; I personally actually couldn’t care less what you choose to do with your last name lol. My point is simply that all of it is patriarchal bullshit. Feel free to write all the novels/ride as hard as you want for your patriarchal lineage last name, but it doesn’t change the fact that you have no agency in it. The act of choosing one way or another is the only thing that grants agency. But I just think it’s weird to draw such a hardline when they’re literally just different sides…
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy14/09/21 11:14 PM
55

That’s fine, but it’s still given to you through no actual agency of your own. It’s only your name because it was your dad’s name. I understand the sentimentality but the whole paternal name lineage is still a product of the Patriarchy. So, again, to me: six of one, half a dozen of the other. The fact that you feel sentimental towards it doesn’t change the actual why of how it became your name.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy14/09/21 03:43 AM
-1

Sure, but you didn’t choose it. It was given to you by a dude’s lineage and through exactly zero agency of your own. My point is that even keeping your last name still has you firmly as a cog in the Patriarchal Wheel but you do you lol Agree about the red flag, though.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy14/09/21 03:38 AM

Okay but here’s what I don’t understand - in American culture, it’ll typically just be the father’s last name a woman is changing so to me it truly is six of one, half dozen of the other lol
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy14/09/21 02:15 AM
91

From an American perspective though, as women we are typically given our father’s last names. So it’s really the same thing, just… which man’s name do you want? 🤷🏼‍♀️
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy14/09/21 02:12 AM
6

Okay so here’s the thing (coming from an American perspective)… it’s still a man’s name (barring a different circumstance, of course), but usually it’s from the father. So, I honestly don’t see much of a difference… except that it’s finally a choice.

You owe him nothing. Read that again. You owe him nothing. Kick him out or let your family do it, but you owe him nothing and do you think after the things he’s said about you (to your own family, apparently, no less), that he would extend you half of the same courtesy? He would not. Kick him out. Give him a month notice if it makes you feel better, but end this now.

If this is taken from some larger work, then okay, whoever cut this little meme is doing her a disservice. But as it stands now, purely reading the words she has actually said on this picture, she isn’t talking about merely the rape of sex workers. She’s talking about rape in general, which isn’t logical. My issue is not with the logic of theft or whatever she wants to equate it to, though I find that problematic as well. It’s with the generalization or lack of specificity. As it reads now, she …
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy05/05/21 11:05 PM
0

But her own comparison is illogical. Sex work does not make rape of all women ‘theft.’ It would only make rape of sex workers ‘theft.’ You’re giving her entirely too much credit. Using an illogical statement to refute something else illogical is pointless. She could make a point but apparently chooses not to. 🤷🏼‍♀️

So... using flawed logic to ... point out flawed logic? lol I’m not defending sex work, I’m just saying her logic here is bs and it is.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy05/05/21 03:17 PM
-9

I understand what the quote is ‘basically saying’ and that it’s anti-sex work, however her logic here is still very flawed. While, sure, she’s kind of basically saying what you said she is... She’s also, at the same time, saying that rape basically can’t exist at all for any woman if sex work exists and that’s simply fallible logic.

So you simply can’t tell by looking at someone if they’re doing it “a healthy way.” Hopefully she has, hopefully it was intentional, and hopefully she’s happy. My grandpa was a trucker and has been married to my grandma for 67 years now. They have 3 daughters, and that man would do anything for her - and frequently has. The money he retired with has set them up for life, and she hasn’t had to work unless she wanted to. There are so many professions that men do dirty in, but you’ve got your reasons and they def make sense to you. So that’s cool you’ve found something you know you don’t want!
