You're 100% right, but a child depends on it's mother as well, and if neglect of a child is illegal, and IF fetuses have the same rights as children, then an argument can absolutely be made that it's illegal to do so to a fetus as well. Once again, the argument goes full circle into whether or not fetuses have the same rights as children.

The bodily autonomy argument is double-sided and doesn't work with abortion Firstly, it's not really part of their body. A fetus inherits DNA from both its mother and its father. My ethics professor tried to pull this shit. Said that the rape of females was by itself a violent act since there's no lubrication, whereas if males get hard then there's implicit pleasure. Yeah, no buddy, that's not how that works.
