Personally I don't have the maternal instinct of a mother. Leave that and this holiday to moms only. Father's day is all mine though.

Honestly i think the ending of 4 got better because it shows that Big Boss realized his mistakes in wanting endless war. Zero was just a vegetable by that point yet his Patriot AI had already consumed control of both of their visions of how the world should be. Both men had no idea how twisted it could all be when it finally was not in their control anymore.

Big Boss and Zero failed to comprehend what exactly was The Boss's will. When Big Boss accepted his title is when he became his own man by not following what The Boss was teaching. This is what made him MGTOW by rejecting what everyone and their ideas and forging his own path in life...even if it led to endless war. BTW imho The Boss is the unicorn we were all looking for lol.

Granted all the above is true, my point is the moment he took the mantle of Big Boss he stopped following what the Boss had taught him. That moment is when he started fighting for what he wanted to see in the world.

Big Boss rejected The Boss's will at the end of Peace Walker which leads into establishing Outer Heaven and Zanzibarland

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
