Gender bias is still completely a thing. This dude sounds like he would be from the early end of the Boomer generation, according to the story timeline, making it even more likely. 1	What's wrong with this picture? I can see what you're saying there, but unless I'm mistaken the advice here has an unspoken clause: "Don't talk to her when you're mad with her." Obviously you'll talk to her at some point, and it will be her responsibility to listen; it's just advice to save your discussion until you can resist lashing out and derailing the conversation into unhelpful bickering.
