It’s a username bro I’m not actual mustache twirling villain. Yes he is doing something wrong. Individual women it can be the case it’s just poor timing/she doesn’t like you but when taken as a whole at 34 this guy should have held someones hand by now and you are just encouraging him to be cynical.

I’m not oversimplifying thats really all there is to it. At 24 it could just be bad luck, at 34 you are doing something wrong. Again, I had a friend who was 100 pounds overweight who dated women so there really is no good reason. I see too many men on Reddit convince themselves some people are meant to be alone and it’s almost always that they have given up.

You are 34 and have never held a woman’s hand, my assumptions are almost certainly correct.

You are doing something wrong. You either are not talking to any women or have standards that are too high. I had a friend growing up who was severely overweight and showered once a week who had decent looking girlfriends so you could too.

If you aren’t talking about sex stuff you may want to change your wording lmao

Yes you should have escalated by trying to take some clothes off. Start with the shirt and if it works then go for the pants. Sounds like you kinda do know what to do but didn’t out of fear.

Neither one these seem like they weren’t partaking. They seem fine, you shouldn’t try to make or keep conversations about you though if you tell a story like that try and segue into a more general conversation.

I mean most women tend to have boyfriends, at least the attractive ones

I go to niche bars and almost always meet girls, but I’m trying to stop drinking so I’m also looking for some alternative

I don’t think you did misread it, I think that this woman was giving you the signs that most people would act on. Some women are like this, you wouldn’t even know they had a boyfriend and they’re extremely flirty and then when you try to escalate that’s when they tell you.

What can they say about you? Just ask if they wanna grab a drink or something if you don’t do anything mean/weird then all they can say, “yeah he asked me out.”

I think most people don’t realize there is a different between being an asshole and being dickish. I have had success with women because I’m, “dickish,” I don’t treat them as special snowflakes and I shit talk with them like I would a guy friend. The guys that finish last are the ones who think women aren’t humans and are only a thing to be treated nicely and this is probably very off-putting to women who don’t want to be treated like you’re changing your whole persona to court them.

I asked a girl if a could kiss her once and she called me a pussy, laughed and then said, “don’t ask that’s not how it works.” I agree with others the 90/10 rule is the way to go.

Stop responding to the ones that don’t engage in real conversation, rejection sucks but trying to be with someone who clearly isn’t interested sucks worse

True and I definitely am working on that, just wanted to present that if the desire is to get laid you can make it happen while not truly being the happy or upbeat person if you can fake it. I haven’t been in a LTR for several years as I try to get my mind/career/etc right but the mind has so far been the hardest part. I’m not looking for another relationship that starts out great and two years in has devolved into toxicity.

Yes I can sustain it, as I deal with my depression through self deprecating humor and have spent years building the confidence needed to succeed in my career and networking. Of course that’s me thinking that, I’ve been in more than one long term relationship but they have ended and I’d be lying if I said that probably wasn’t a partial cause of them ending. But at the same time everyone tends to have an “act” they put up and in any prolonged relationship the partner would also reveal undesirable …

It’s not an act, but I suppose you’re right regardless. At this point in my life I just don’t care if they like me or not and have had to learn to break out of my shell so I’m not shy or awkward around people anymore: I imagine that’s most peoples problem.

Not true I’m dead inside but can turn anything into a joke and relate to people and when me and friends go out I always get the most attention. Three weeks ago (and this is a first for me) me and my friends were just talking outside the bar and I had a group of 3 pretty girls come up and start talking to me because they “loved my sarcasm” and for the rest of the night I had two of them talking to me and the other girl talking with my three friends. Confidence and not caring is what does it, it d…

It is. Staring at her for a minute straight with a dead serious face is creepy. Looking at someone for a couple seconds and giving a nod or a smile is a natural thing it’s creepier to avoid looking at all.

Nah if I’m thinking I’m hungry I’m not staring at the girl behind the counter I’m staring at the food or the menu. Now if I’ve been waitin in line for 15 minutes I might stare at the girl but I think the “hey can you hurry up” face is pretty obviously different than the “hey take your time so I can talk to you” face.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
