hey just wanted to reach out and say i relate to a lot of what you're saying, being lonely in gradschool, being a "friendship pickme" to avoid loneliness, not having time to meet lots of people b/c it is so time consuming to study... just wanted to let you know you're not alone.

i got called a "racist bitch" the other day because I ignored a black man incessantly trying to get my attention on the street. I live in a major city where I quickly learned to ignore ALL men talking to me on the street... but I guess he took it personally and said "racist bitch, I was asking for directions, not money." 🤷🏻‍♀️ ok? You're still not entitled to my time or attention. Plus, why was he singling me out? There were tons of other people walking around, and he was literally right next to…

YES! It's so amazing that people don't see these movies as the male-valorizing propaganda they are! Like it's so obvious when men watch these movies that they identify with Bruce Willis and think, yea, if I were in that situation, I'd totally be a badass and fight off all the bad guys, yeah, totally.. and when he gets the hot girl in the end, that's how they see themselves ending up too, these movies are part of what teaches them what they're "owed" in life... barf. just cuz it's everywhere does…

Tbf this is a main tenet of red pill, that they have to "accept women's true natures" (AWALT = "all women are like that", one of their most oft-repeated phrases) and act accordingly. In other words: they claim women are cheating whores who only like alphas, so they should act like alphas and treat a woman like dogshit to keep her around, and this will make her happy and is actually what she wants in the long run! otherwise if you're kind she will "beta bux" you aka use you for financial security…

She looks pretty neutral to me tbh... just cuz a woman isn't smiling doesn't mean she's angry... "RBF", "smile honey it can't be that bad"... just pointing out that there's a cultural prescription for us to constantly be smiling and cheery and just cuz a woman isn't smiling doesn't mean they're angry or upset or anything! Just neutral! This looks like an old picture where it took so long for the photograph to be taken that it didn't make sense to smile

lmao XD yeah i was talking to my dad about this, he grew up working class but is pretty solidly middle class now after working as an engineer for many years... he said he finds rich men to be much more competitive than working class ones. Like everything you have, they want it to, they're always looking over their shoulder and over the fence to see what somebody else has and trying to one up them. Makes sense that they aren't able to turn this off when interacting with a woman.

Honestly most men are so poorly socialized. They literally never learned to get along with others, to be civilized, to have fucking manners. Their parents spoil them rotten and ooh and aah over them being complete assholes, acting like it's just utterly fucking adorable that they're such jerks. That's basically what bravado is, being a rude jerk who doesn't care about the consequences of their actions. And it's somehow valorized in our world. Yeah maybe these traits were useful pre-civilization …

Yea I have a friend who in some ways seemed high value but over time i just realized she is utterly self interested. For whatever reason she just never reciprocated the energy and consideration I poured into our friendship, but was happy to keep taking from me.

This is why women just need to leave when a dude starts acting up. Think about how hard it is to change your own behavior. Changing someone else is practically impossible especially when the action you’re trying to get them to change betrays a baseline level of disrespect

yeah but she said that she cultivated this vibe on purpose after being overly sexualized in one of her movies as a preteen/teen. like people had those "countdown to 18" clocks for her etc. So she tried to appear as bookish and unsexual as possible to avoid that

as a former mega-pickme, I can attest that this is the truth lol. I literally thought it was better to have a terrible boyfriend who treated me like crap than to not have one at all, and it was almost like a crisis of faith when a friend asked me why I didn't just let myself be and not force the relationship when he clearly didnt give a crap about me. I was so ashamed that I got mad at her, even though I knew she was right.

To be honest I would go for the money and try to get your MD or PA if your grades and stats are good enough. There is more job stability, even though the job is likely more stressful - but you can live anywhere you want and really have full financial independence. You aren't going to want to live in a 1 br apartment forever - think longer term. With an MD or PA salary you can buy real property for yourself. Even though you said you don't want children, imagine having the independence to buy your…

How do you guys deal with loneliness? :(. I can barely even keep any friends around who don't end up walking all over me. No wonder I used to jump into relationships with LVM. I get so discouraged by realizing how little I am valued.

I’m a PhD candidate in Systems Biology. I know what a SNP is (and it actually stands for single nucleotide polymorphism). Usually these associations are overblown. And CRISPR work on humans, particularly to edit for social traits, is science fiction. Never going to happen. It is unethical. Someone else mentioned height. Height is actually an extremely complex trait that can’t be pinned down to a single gene. While they have identified genes associated with self-reported psychometric scores meant…

Sorry but this is not how biology works haha. There is no single gene that produces a complex emergent property such as empathy.

GREAT point, explains a lot honestly. It affects their relationships with their female students as well. So many of them just can’t accept it when their students understand something better than they do.

I feel like I am and have been this woman at times, but I'm trying so so hard to level up and get rid of my own toxicity! A lot of my family members are like this too - super pickme levels. It's hard to escape from it, but I am praying and working as hard as I can on self-reflection and planning etc to do so!

it's CRAZY how ingrained this is. I literally feel guilty whenever I'm happy/having fun, as if I'm doing something wrong. Definitely comes from my parents (or at least my mom) who believed women should be as miserable as possible and give 1000% to everyone but themselves in order to be "worth" something

ughhh my fucking ex did this shit. i got a job as a fucking phd student (which are unbelievably low paying but at least I had a steady income) while he was still in pharmacy school and he'd ask me to buy shit for him all the time. and I FUCKING DID!!!!!!!! SMDH

just like..literally what is the logic of people who treat their partners like this. how can someone be so fucked up and backwards as to take the most intimate and important relationship in their lives and just... ruin it by being a piece of shit. It actually blows my mind the more I think about it. We have such limited time on this earth, why would anyone waste it by being mean to someone who loves them?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/05/20 05:34 PM

my ex always did this, ugh. he would just randomly insult me and like purposefully patronize me to "put me in my place" in his baby voice (and literally anything was fair game - my appearance, my intelligence, anything) and then if I got upset he'd laugh and quickly say i love you. But saying sorry was out of the question. ugh what a piece of work, why are men like this
