I wouldn’t generalize this so much. As a woman in child-bearing years I think this is a good idea. It’s the right thing for all parties involved. People that say it’s better for the child are wrong imo. Someone that thinks he is a father, finds out that he isn’t when the child is older, and then treats the child differently could result in emotional trauma to the child that outweighs the financial benefit the supposed father would bring.
