I think it would be good to add onto 6 that women don't use filler words like "um, uh, like," etc. It's a habit I'm trying to break. I love the list!

That sounds perfect because I really want to know as much about credit as I can. I know it's something that W will like to look at as well. Thank you!

Thank you! Yes. From all these replies I've got an idea on how to start budgeting. That will help me see on paper where we need to start saving. I do like the idea of sleeping on a purchase. I've done that before (I left my wallet at home or W had the credit card on him) and even though I promised to go back for said item, 9/10 I didn't buy it. I realized I was fine without it.

I forgot about Sam's Club! There's one about an hour away from here but I'm sure my mom would go in on a membership with me. Buying those toiletries in bulk will definitely help. I'm sure that we could buy some meats as well that I can separate and freeze. I do have excel, so I'll look into that. I'll just have to brush up on how to make the columns add up to give a total. Thank you! Edit: I'll also check out that app! Thanks again!

That is exactly what I'm thinking. Being frugal will help us in the long run. I'll look up that guy and I'm sure we should find something to help us as well. Thank you for the suggestion! Edit: Will also follow the r/frugal!

I will go ahead and say food. I'm working on re-supplying the ingredients I have so I can make healthier meals from scratch. I think the grocery advice may help. Thank you in advance!

I really like the tip to "sleep on it" for online purchases. I don't usually buy a lot of stuff online, but this will help with any mini-spending splurges I get. I'll also make a mental note to get W a to-go cup. That should take care of the random coffee purchases and i'll pick up canned soda in case W gets an urge for a pop. That would save us a bit instead of him buying one of the bottles from the end-cap fridges. ($1.25 a pop, in 3 days he's have enough to buy a 12 pack of canned pop) Thank …

That blog sounds exactly like what I was looking for. We live in a rural area and have been planning on starting our own garden. My mom knows how to can, so I was planning on asking her for her help with that. That way we can have our home grown veggies all year round. I definitely think that making our own cleaning products would be eco-friendly and also cheaper. Thank you!!

Yeah. We got rid of our satellite and switched to netflix and hulu. So we have $16 a month instead of $80. That was pretty big savings. We do have one credit card (we're just starting out) and want to keep it free for emergencies. We want to keep maybe $50 on it a month though because our $25 a month will bring it down to a $25 balance. (My dad told me that its good to have a balance to pay off.)

Yeah. We want to save what we can now. I'm in school right now and the stress of maintaining a home while working and going to school full time is making me edgy and irritable. I will have debt. He won't for another couple of years. He's going to get an associates in general studies before transferring to another school (probably the one I'm currently attending) for video game design. The community college that he'll be attending is fully covered under financial aid. I get financial aid as well …

You put it into words. "They're not there yet." Eventually they will be, but TRP is a place for then to vent the less cuddly feelings they have towards women and build their game to "spin plates" The sidebar is an amazing resource to better yourself as a RPW. Think of the saying "If you build it, they will come." What you project, you will project. Sure, you may need to weed through some unsavory types, but hold true to what you want in a Captain and don't accept anything less. Just be confidant…

Absolutely!! We can help motivate each other! As for the weight, yeah. I think I'm having the hardest time with it because my weight makes me miserable and I keep thinking about how far I have to go. It helps sometimes to think that there are people heavier than me that might wish they were more mobile and at least at my weight so they can progress. I sometimes think "if I was at least 50 lbs lighter I could do more and it would be easier" so I'm trying to realize that it's a blessing that I rea…

First off, I want to congratulate you on getting fit both mentally and physically! Yay! That's a wonderful step to take for your long term health! As for TRP... What were some posts that specifically worried you? I hear that TRP is mostly situated on perfecting game and getting tail and RPW seems more directed on LTR.

Yay for posting! I'm really glad to hear that a lot of the principles are helping your relationship! I'm relatively new as well and am just starting on my journey. My life has also changed for the better. Congrats!

I really like this video, it does make a lot of great points. I do agree that listing a few key points would be helpful though.

I'm very sorry to hear about your situation. I think I have a few ideas that might help. You're the breadwinner, but that doesn't necessarily put you in the masculine role. You can start to defer to him for decisions (what he wants to eat is a good start) and then maybe work your way up to having him control finances. (This would be a great idea especially where he's the one that stays at home, he can keep an eye on groceries, supplies, etc) If you don't live too far away from where you work, wo…

I do think that there is a double standard, but not the one you think. It seems as though it's more accepted for older women to have traditional values. I do believe that older women are more likely to be called "old fashioned" as a term of endearment. As in "oh, how cute! She has old-school values!" I'm 25. I've seen women my age be accused of being mindless drones, victims of internalized misogyny, brainwashed, unintelligent, prude, self-righteous, haughty and the like. I personally feel like …

Welcome to RPW! It certainly sounds like you have your hands full! We don't have children, but we are rescue parents. (Definitely not as hectic as actual kids!) I'm actually getting ready to type up a daily to-do list and print off an hourly schedule. I'm going to to do the things I have listed, and write down when I did it on the schedule. I know I have some free time (mostly spent rolling around in the couch whining "I don't wanna!!") and I believe this will help me find where it is and use it…

I've downloaded the reddit, irc, and pinterest apps. I'm planning on going through my pinterest to make is motivating and full of recipes and crafts I know W will enjoy. The author of the link commented on this post and he linked it. But when I can get to a computer I'll edit this comment and throw the link in there too. I'm looking at some fitness apps, but seeing as how I'm only just starting with basic things to build my muscles up some more (push-ups, crunches, squats and yoga) but once I fin…

Thank you! I still have a long ways to go though. I bought into that nonsense for way too long. I always brushed off the fatness and never paid attention to it until I saw how unhealthy I looked. Sure I'd live to be able to run around the house in panties and my guys shirt and look fantastic, but I need to be healthy for our family. We don't have kids right now, but I want to be the mom that can literally run around with my kids and take them on hikes and be able to keep up with them. I don't wa…

Thank you! I think the hardest part of swallowing the pill is having to look at our lives and honestly say "what the hell did I do?" It's definitely helped me understand why some rp males can be so angry. If I was my guy, I would have kicked myself out years out.

I had a but if a fangirl moment when I saw this reply! ( I would have linked the article but am still new to reddit and was unsure as to how. ) I've got the link saved on my boyfriends phone for him to read when he has a spare moment. I was struggling with how to create the plan to get to my new goal, and finding this sub through your article really was a lifesaver. (Literally!) This is a great idea! I think I'll do this tomorrow (its one of my days off) It will provide a nice hearty breakfast and be a bit easier on me. This will help me manage my time in the mornings a bit better too. (Plus it sounds completely delicious!) Thank you!

I'm so happy for you!!! It really sounds like everything has pulled together for you guys. That is just so amazing. This post gave me some good ideas on how to further better myself. I'm just starting out on this path (it has been a struggle these past few days) but posts like this give me a glimpse at what life can be like and it just motivates me even more. Congratulations!!

I'm working on that too. I didn't realize how awful I was being until in the middle of a long winded shouting rant and I looked at him and he looked broken. It was like a puppy that was kicked by its owner. I've been doing my best and I apologized profusely to him. I can't put into words how horrible I felt after I realized what I had been doing to him. I'm never going back to that person. Ever.

I agree and would say to trust him. He's wanting to provide and most likely takes great joy at being able to provide/spoil you. I wouldn't go over the limit you all set by much, but I'd say just to put a huge amount of thought into it. Definitely make it something really personal. Or maybe make him something. Buy him something within the limit but wrap it in a scarf or put a scarf inside of it. There are a lot of patterns to make little symbols that you can sew onto the scarf that would personal…

I was raised by two working parents and I definitely feel like their lack of involvement in my life from my pre-teenage years throughout my adolescence contributed to my "teenage rebellion" It was also unfortunate that they went through their divorce during that time. So what little attention I was getting getting as a child was practically non-existent as they both focused on re-building their lives. I craved attention and found it in the wrong groups of people and experimented with drugs, drin…
