Because he doesn't want to saddle me with hospital bills for cancer? Ok then...

In my case, partner is the most accurate word. Health insurance issues are why we aren't married (and the fear of passing on crippling debt) but we're essentially living like married people in a balanced relationship.

Yep. Quiet, shy, nervous, and still well-spoken. Now we watch anime together and play with a couple of 3d printers. I suspect I'm going to end up marrying my best friend who's also sexy.

Or just be picky and avoid being a news statistic.. My ex was a trash human. Took years to pull the layers down. And by then, I was disabled and stuck until my mother passed away. I had no-one else. Therapy is eating me alive. Do what you have to do to remain safe.

I made it simple. I just said his father and I weren't compatible, and we were making each other miserable.

What you're looking for is a woman who trends toward long-term. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Ooh, more stuff for entertainment! Thank you!

Honestly, I'd prefer too small. There's lots of ways to make everyone happy with smaller, but too big is...it's just ouch.

How else am I supposed to entertain myself? /s

God, I hope that's not true. In both cases.I'm in relationships only if it's a) safe for both parties and b) beneficial for both parties. I'd like to officially declare disavoal of FDS as the typical stance and the concept of misandry being autistic. The FDS stance is closer to narcissistic or sociopathic. Total disregard for others also being valid human beings.

Yeah, I'm not really being helpful here, am I? not /s

My first date with my boyfriend was at a pizza place with an arcade. Clearly it worked, because we started off just about a month before Illinois started it's first COVID lock down.

Not quite what I read from it. I get mostly "men are all vile" vibes from them. I subscribe to the subreddit for dark humor. And technically I probably fit the profile superficially. Woman, 45+, chonker, short, poor, and half insane.

Yes we do. My younger son's dad was about an inch shorter than me, and I'm 5f2. (We're not together because all his pants had a problem with staying on.) My fiance now is 5f5ish. No idea what he sees in chunky me,but I'm not complaining!

My brain is snickering "pooooor wee mite" which roughly translates to the dreaded "well bless her little heart" in the southern US...

No idea. I've dated from 6f3 to 5f1. I'm 5f3 for reference.

My guy's visually average but the second the proximity gets close, I seem to have a super-charged libido. Part of it's because he's not afraid to be affectionate, and a lot's just plain "chemistry" we lucked into.

That's been true since well before OF and cheap porn..

You could simplify women's sex drive as our brains getting in the way. This includes literally anything from the past up to worries of the future. It took me a year with the Right Guy to learn to just let go and be in the moment. And if something happened to the relationship ( death, breakup, what have you) it would likely take even longer if I even bothered starting over. Also gotta give credit to my state having legal marijuana now...it helped soooo much.

This is why I don't subscribe to FDS. Husband material means emotionally supportive, and willing to kindly tell me when I'm in need of compromise. A man who's looking for a life partner, not a silent accessory or a trophy. Which is why my legal single status is on a timer...we both agree that, after a year of living together with more peace than argument, it's appropriate to move forward.

Unfortunately, no. My stepmother raised them all to be entitled shits, and my dad was browbeaten so he let it happen.

I see you've met my step sister. And half sister. And also my half brother. Aaaaand their mother.

In real life, I picked guy #1, and it's been a blast. Why? Because he realizes nobody's perfect, and that self improvement is key to feeling fulfilled. Of course, I myself am autistic (without intellectual difficulties) so in all the ways that matter, my guy's the perfect fit. Edit: both of us are squishy. He's worked damn hard on general social skills, and saves the anxiety for when he can afford to feel it. In almost every way that counts, I've somehow managed to find a guy that's waaaaaay out…

So to sum it all up..you're looking for someone in your stage of life with the eq to match or outshine, who's attractive, single, and isn't likely to end up making you need psychiatric drugs to deal with the trauma caused by the relationship. That's more than reasonable.

Before the patriarchal society existed, it was matriarchal. To a certain degree, women outranked men in nearly all social-specific roles, simply for being women. How do we know this whole thing isn't cyclical like El Nino and La Nina? Do I think women would automatically do better? No, because regardless of gender, people are still basically people.

I hate it.I absolutely hate it. The worst thing someone could call me? SJW or whatever this month's extremist "feminism" thing is called. I'm definitely not better than a man simply because I didn't grow a zucchini in my garden. I'm as human as the next person; strengths, weaknesses, and imperfections.

Because perfect people don't exist. It's just not realistic. You're essentially describing a FDS subscriber. I'm female, and I don't have the patience to believe their crap. Weight can change. Women over 35 have had the time to figure themselves out more. Crazies? Well, there's meds for most problems. I'm not suggesting you lower your standards. I'm suggesting some of your preferences can be worked with, either in your views of them, or she can..I dunno..work WITH you?

FDS is only worthwhile as a spray for those 'not so fresh feeling' moments. I go read that for a giggle.

That would have kept me out of so much trouble, and wayyyyy fewer anxiety pills.

Generally, classic narcissists hide their true intentions until they feel you've taken the bait. You'll still end up with an entitled princess who's basically trying to empty your wallet.

That's pretty solid advice, actually.

Like the fact the whole wall scenario is rooted in dominant behavior. I always liked when my guy did things like that, but then they turned around and did or said something douchey, so it went from Yes Please to Blech.

Nope. We threw pencils at the girls having LSD flashbacks because they thought the bolts in the lockers were trying to attack them. No? Just my school?

That still leaves you with a far-something narcissist who only thinks about herself. And probably an expensive breakup involving law enforcement personnel.

Personal experience? I didn't know how to go about finding what I needed, and had a messed up home life as a kid. Messed up girls (usually) will fall for "love bombing" behavior because they're looking for approval. Therapy straightened me out, and now I have a Dom that loves me and has many things in common with my goals and preferences. And I had to find a "nice guy" to fit my life. (Both nerds, both autistic, both with C-PTSD, although for different reasons.)
