Perhaps you need glasses, but my whole point is that most older men aren't in a position to date young women, who in the vast majority of cases won't be interested in them. Not sure what you're upset about, is it that I'm suggesting older guys often wish (in vain) that they could date younger, hotter women that are out of reach?

A) Not talking about men. I'm not (only), either. Just as you say many women who are childless "by choice" are terrified of getting pregnant, many men are only slightly less terrified of impregnating a woman; but a stupidly large number of men still feel strongly compelled to do it without the condom because "it feels better." What I think is really happening is that a deeper, more primal part of their brain is trying to impregnate women. When women break up with men who don't impregnate them, m…

There's a lot going on under the hood in both men and women they might not be fully conscious of. For example, even guys who say they want a life full of fun, free and fancy casual sex often feel uncomfortable about the idea of getting snipped to facilitate just that.

I don't think it is all social programming. In fact, my suspicion although I'll admit I have no evidence at all for this is that women in childless relationships are more likely to cheat or get divorced than women with kids, not just because it's more convenient and easier to, but because subconsciously women feel like if her man isn't fucking her pregnant he's defective.

That will make sex feel increasingly mechanical and pointless. Also, as other people have pointed out, if it really turns into every man (and women) for himself, as a dude you will be the one dropped and swapped out. Older guys in FWB relationships are basically asking to eventually be replaced by a younger, fitter model who can fuck harder and has harder abs or whatever. Again, not saying it's any different from marriage or LTR these days.

As people get older, they have less energy for the party lifestyle. It's also easier for older people to fall into feeling melancholy, bitter, or cynical about basically everything. Constantly shuffling between people you don't really care about to scratch a biological itch like an animal isn't, I think, a recipe for happiness.

Not really, though. Eventually, you'll get older: and while being a cool guy who gets to bang a lot of chicks (and tbh, most single guys are not doing that, not without paying) but never settle down like a rolling stone sounds cool to young guys... what's it going to be like being that guy propping up the bar or swiping blindly on Tinder when you're 40, or 50? And how are you really going to feel about going on dates with extremely jaded, experienced women your age when you're that old who also …

Their view of how easy it is for women to get a real relationship or a ring on it is fossilized and stuck in the past, just like so many aspects of dating and marriage still are. It's often forgotten in these debates that men are withdrawing commitment from average women just about as quickly as women are withdrawing the sex, putting it bluntly; and for essentially the same reason - increasingly, ordinary members of both sexes perceive that they are being treated badly. Average women don't want …

Chads unironically do this (a lot of attractive guys are insulted by the presumption that they are horndogs up for being community dick and are as desperate as the average slob; some will be tactful about it because of the misogyny meme, but they basically think like Staceys with penises, i.e. very judgmentally). They're not saying No Fat Chicks, but they're definitely thinking it. Other guys who complain about women hitting on them include basically all dudes with money, and expats overseas who…

Thing is, if some local guys and feminists band together to purposefully make it more difficult for them, they won't get a fairer shake anymore.

You say this as a joke, but it's kind of... true? It is telling how much more flak Western visitors in many parts of the developing world get now than they used to, back when they had more wealth, power and influence compared to locals virtually everywhere. I'm guessing there a few things going on here. One, people feel more free to express their true feelings obviously given that it's not going to get them punished the way it might have once done (not exactly the same, but this is very much par…

Let's face it, men are not that well liked anywhere period, that goes twice for single men. Being foreign just ups it that much more, especially in a world where dating apps and social media are already making a) life more difficult for most men and b) making women more and more paranoid about "creeps" and "abusers." I mean think about it: even back in the 19th and early 20th centuries, most young men in developing nations were married or on their way to be, barring exceptional slackers and unfo…

Yeah this is a good point. The sort of guys in a position to "get away with" anything are doing it already. Although admittedly even attractive guys can get MeToo'd in the end, they are on a much, much longer leash.

What's comical about it? They don't like it, and have moved (with remarkable effectiveness) to stamp it out. You act like anyone is going to turn into a pillar of salt when you point out their hypocrisies. In practice, they will just work harder to shut down any forum where these hypocrisies can be talked about at all.

Why can’t men be ruthless and unfair and brutally seek out what they want the same way women do? The real answer to your question is: because society (including most men) will seek to punish them for doing so. Obviously. Some of these punishments are criminal (in the case of, for example, prostitution and punitive age of consent laws). Some of these punishments are civil, but still severe: (how divorce courts treat married men in divorce, for example, is an excellent way to make husbands, but no…

I think there are increasingly large numbers of men who aren't particularly interested in casual sex per se, but also are increasingly aware that long-term relationships aren't necessarily in their interest, for obvious reasons that have been beaten to death on this sub. There's no contradiction here.

/r/PurplePillDebate14/04/24 11:57 AM

They don't for two reasons: One, coomery and stupidity, some men genuinely think getting it in regardless how or why is a win for themselves so they assume it's always a win for every other man too. Two, some men know relationships can be bad for men, but they see other men being yoked to the proverbial plough and forced to settle down as a win for society and putting money in their pocket. Every woman made quote unquote decent out there has a man made to take responsibility and pay up when she …
/r/PurplePillDebate13/04/24 08:13 AM

This would be a fair enough point - if society also defended naive young men from being lured into exploitative relationships in the same way (regardless the age of the woman). But of course, it doesn't: if anything, it tries to push young men into them.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/04/24 08:02 AM

Remember, young women and girls are both helpless manipulable putty and playthings in the hands of aging playboys, but also naturally suspicious and grossed out by anyone more than six months to a year older than them (for being inexperienced, stunted losers) and you have no chance. At the same time.

There's no such thing as cashing in anymore, because people (and by people, I mean women) can and will leave relationships if they're not feeling it anymore. You can't count on getting married at 29.999 going bald and fat a few years later and necessarily "getting away with it." And to be honest, it's not really desirable either. There is no optimal strategy here; if you go down, your life is likely going down regardless what age you are or what position you are in. I don't think life in this re…

The point here, though, is that there's a difference between you can't do that and you can't do that unless your parents agree. The former implies absolute incapacity. I think that also, historically, there was more of an acceptance of even adults being in dependent relationships where they weren't entirely free or responsible. A good example of this is married women historically being legally in the custody of their husband, who was responsible for their good behaviour, to the extent of potenti…

The age of majority is only tangentially relevant to the topic of our thread, though. Although I will concede that law by definition did subject young people to the will of their parents in all things until that age and that you have proven yourself correct on this point, it didn't preclude them from being active members of society in a number of ways. One could work and pay taxes, have sex and get married, be convicted of a crime and go to prison, join the army etc. before this age. There is a …

My reference is the laws of the United Kingdom. To the best of my knowledge, when it comes to specific legal liabilities and rights, the laws of the United States were historically very similar. What specific rights or responsibilities did Americans gain or receive at the age of 21? Is this referring to the voting age?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/04/24 01:34 AM
3

No, the age of majority has been 18 for centuries. This is not true; for most of history for example the age of consent in most nations, where such a law existed, was in the early- to mid-teens, while, for example, the income tax of 1842 was applied to ALL incomes over 150 pounds, regardless the age of the person. To join the army, one was legally supposed to be at least seventeen years of age. You had to be under seven to avoid criminal responsibility.

Posts like this and comments agreeing with it are sadly amusing in what they reveal about the men posting them. Believe those of us in this thread who are saying that when women are really into you, you will know. Because when they're actually interested, women do precisely the very same sort of unmistakable slutty and aggressive things men on the prowl do around women.

If true, how is this not an incredible whitepill? If women literally and unironically want you to put yourself first, be proud and do what you want. The only bad thing about this preference is if it comes with P.S. Chads only, but that's a separate matter.

The dark redpill here is quite simple: Women despise men who are powerless. Increasingly, that's 99% of all men. It goes beyond sex, and is really simply a question of power. As a man, not having it is despicable. Even if you might consider yourself completely "blameless," whatever that would mean, there's nothing good about being so; and there's little argument you can make that women somehow should still love and want to be with a man without it. Men aren't insecure because they don't have the…

My cynical take on this is that these days there are more young guys trying to pull beta game and branding themselves as the nice relationship guy as a way to get some, which is why there are more men wanting relationships at that age than women, which would not have been the case in the past. To assume it has something to do with maturity is probably an outdated way of looking at it.

Forest for the trees; consider the broader point about what is and is not considered wrong, and what is and is not considered a crime. You are correct that infanticide has existed in many cultures. Once again: Nitpicking. That was just part of a broader point: that it's much more socially accepted AND legal for teenage girls to have abortions (rather than a scandal, as it would have been in the past, not just for moral reasons related to the destruction of the unborn, but because of prevailing s…

IIRC, there is also a disparity in criminal sentencing between men and women though... like in the case of black people, it seems likely we're doing more crime, but also doing more time than others would when caught doing the same thing. It's also heresy to say it in this day and age, but let's face it, the list of things that are illegal is very long these days. It's not like the average criminal is a killer, rapist, literal thief who took something from a store without paying, or ravished a yo…

My biggest fear is not getting laid This is a glib and no offense short-sighted line. There are other things men might reasonably be anxious or even frightened of when meeting and getting intimate with women, and if you think about it for literally a few minutes, they will come to you.

There's a bit of a whitepill here, in that everything creepy you just described involves being introverted and keeping to yourself. When you keep yourself to yourself, people don't know your intentions, and can fill in the gaps with something bad. While it's possible to be extroverted and creepy, it's harder. The more you go around acting like you have nothing to hide, the less creepy you will seem, for the most part even as an ugly fat guy. The rejoinder to this is that doing the wrong thing so…

It is surely not controversial to say that, tragic as every individual death may be, not really very many Israelis die as a result of suicide bombings or other acts of terrorism, either in absolute terms, or proportionally. Even in the modern age, male children in the East are prized far more than female children. There are already millions more men than women in the East due to the sheer number of sex selective abortions and other methods to "deal with" unwanted female children. This isn't true anymore, OP. I've noticed a pattern on this sub, and in the West in general: their impression of Asia and the world outside the West generally is stuck in the 1980s, it's taken for granted and assumed that social and politi…

Not bluepill or woman, so I guess I have to comment here. I'm surprised she's using the phrase men's shelter rather than homeless shelter. The term homeless shelter (fairly or not) more immediately brings to mind images of alcoholism, drugs, bad smells, violence, etc. while men's shelter is obviously more gender war-y. Homeless shelter gets the message across (poor outcast man bad) without saying the quiet part out loud.

women are more likely to admit to being\ abused in relationships* FTFY, also think of all the dudes who are run through the divorce wringer and just have to grin and bear it, gotta man up! The hilarious irony is that women are more frightened and paranoid than they used to be because men aren't as aggressive and violent as they once were. This doesn't make sense to most men, because they aren't putting their caveman glasses on, they are out of touch with primal human instincts. But the evidence is all around us: anyone being remotely honest must concede to the truth that men do the stuff women say they're frightened of less than ever before. Men beat women less. I just don't believe older women when they say they're attracting the men they want. As you say yourself, older men and younger men alike have a preference for younger women. So it's reasonable to assume the most attractive minority of the older men both are able to, and do, date younger women. Which leads us to the conclusion that older women are mostly dating same-age and older men they aren't that attracted to. That "layer" you're talking about has essentially emerged in the context of a more feminist society. It's not a coincidence that this "layer" did not exist (certainly not to the extent it does today) before feminism, and the political expression and dominance of (especially mature) womens' opinions on what should and shouldn't be socially acceptable in the context of relationships between the sexes. I'm also not sure how similar the reactions are tbh. What you're talking about is like a culture …

It's not the exact same, because men and women are different. Yet it is similar, to the extent that it is a phenomenon for which the "perpetrators" cannot really be blamed: men do not go out of their way to be indifferent or cold to women as they age, they simply are. They cannot help being most attracted to youth in the opposite sex, regardless what the rules of an increasingly feminist society are, because this is a Law of Nature. By the same token, women are so indifferent and cold to the maj…

Women do the same thing though: they get angry at men for being much more attracted to pretty young things rather than themselves as they get older, even though the dating game is on the whole kinder to them at any age compared to the experience of the average man. I suppose the reason for this is that so many women experience a great change in how they are treated by the opposite sex as they age: they have something to lose. I'm not sure I agree with this. It does depend on the country in general, but in the 1920s in Europe something like 15-20% of the entire male population under 30 was dead. If your goal is to pick up women and have lots of flings... the UK was better than China... which has never, ever been good for this stuff. You're just talking about dating. Maybe, but I think the real reasons are more obvious. For women, they think they can do better, because of online dating and access to quite so many men in a way that is unprecedented. For men, they increasingly find dating and relationships a burden and so they want something exceptional to make it worth the trouble at all, even if it's not realistic for most. For both, it's also worth considering that dating isn't like seeking food and shelter. People don't assume something mediocre or even ba…

Lust. When women do the sort of things towards/to you that would get most men arrested/viral on TikTok/at least banned from that mall/bar/college if they tried them on women, you know it's real. I'll be here for all the comments from dudes telling on themselves with "women don't really do that though." <image>

There are a few things going on here. There are Chads or otherwise very attractive men who women are gunning for or at least signal that they are interested (such dudes literally get girls asking them if they have girlfriends, calling them handsome, doing stuff like winking, lascivious gestures with their lips, finding "subtle" (but not really) ways to rub up against them with their breasts, and stuff like that) in a way that unfortunate, less attractive men often deny women do IRL because it's …

Funny how I'm being downdooted for giving what is obviously the right answer. I don't know if you guys have heard about this... but cooming inside women especially before we had condoms and godless atheism resulted in babby a lot of the time, and so women since basically forever don't actually appreciate men doing the carnal equivalent of dining and dashing, especially if they don't have a provider dude lined up to take care of the matter. Eye-opening stuff, I know.

They do want you to be committed and to love them and control them, but they want you to do so from a position of strength where you definitely could replace her overnight if you wanted to because you're so attractive AND powerful, but you don't because she's so beautiful and adorable. If that's not possible because it's the 21st century and you're one of the plebs and a cog in the giant 24/7 technological Panopticon, as far as they're concerned …

What if... nice men are bad? What if society is so slavish and conformist now, and being "good" so degrading, that women sexually selecting for antisocial men who want to break things is actually a heroic and noble act, or at least one of the more laudable of the things that women do? Those women who actually do choose "nice guys" are rewarding those men who meekly accept precisely that shit sandwich that men on this board complain about ad nauseum, and not just those women, but also their men, …

1) Most men actually don't want to become single Dads. 2) Even if they did, most governments will impose restrictions on the use of this technology which will limit its usefulness to single men. Single men seeking to use it will be met with strong suspicion, much as they are when it comes to adoption already. It will mostly be used to extend the fertility of aging women, which will also extend their attractiveness as marriage partners for men who want to have a family.
