I don't think PUA needs to be about manipulation at all. Not in a negative way. If you're not lying to the girls, it's basically just techniques to make you a better communicator, more attractive in your presentation, and someone they WANT to sleep with. Ie, learning how to be the kind of guy most women want to meet. I suppose there's some manipulation in how you reward for attention/pull back for noncompliance, etc, and much of it is calculated, but in the end, you're not making anyone do somet…

You're the one who kept going on about the "poverty" of the country and how you make more money than all her friends put together make in a month and how it doesn't matter to these girls if you're old or ugly. I don't know how much that has to do with an "amazing attitude." You're also the one talking about "stringing girls along" so I'm not sure I'd call THEM the manipulators here.

Wow it sure sounds heavenly to be surrounded by poor women willing to have sex with you because their families make $100 a month and you carry the promise for a better life and the glamor of a foreigner! Yuck. No thanks. I prefer to have sex with people who actually like me, are attracted to me, and don't need anything from me, and are not sleeping with me just because they live in poverty. Also who have plenty of other choices and choose me because they truly want me, not just anyone in my posi…

If she's cool enough that you genuinely enjoy her company, be her friend. You just recently met her so letting go of your interest a bit and not pining for her should be pretty doable. As others have said, she can introduce you to her other friends. Having a lot of female friends is something most PUA manuals will tell you is a plus, because they can wing for you, introduce you to their cute friends, and ideally allow you to be seen with attractive women thus showing OTHER attractive women that …

Agreed, although it is just as likely that they will grow to like you more as they know you, and "ambivalent" will translate to "hey, he's actually pretty attractive!"

There's no such thing as a friendzone. There's just girls not being attracted to you enough.

Plenty of people become friends and fall in love even in the West. It's just that girls who are willing to befriend you may not be willing to sleep with you, while as girls who are willing to flirt with you at a bar and go on a date with you are likely willing to sleep with you. Ie, you don't flirt with guys you find unattractive, but you do become friends with them. You can also become friends with guys you DO find attractive (or that you find average, and grow attracted to over time), and then…

Nah, the teen girl part is that he doesn't want sex. :) In both cases the appeal is that he CAN have any girl but only wants her. There are certainly adult romance novels where the guy is brooding and reclusive. Sure, he usually has a sexual history, since virgins aren't sexy once you get past a certain age... but the fantasy is the same. And hey, guys have the same fantasy of getting the unattainable hot girl! What else is the AFC stuff other than "REGULAR guys strike out with her, but I can ge…

Good game is supposed to get you past the barriers of girls playing hard to get. If a girl is shy or conservative, she may not let you get as far with her, but you'll be able to continually receive signs of interest, and you'll be able to score a date. Flaking isn't hard to get, that's just not being interested enough.

It's not really a "shit test"--most of the time it just means she wants to flirt with you but is afraid of looking like a fool if she's not the one you're going for. Plus girls can be possessive. She wants to know she doesn't have to worry about that girl, is all. If she's just a friend, say "Nah, she's just a friend." If you're trying to angle several girls at the same time, that's where you have to get more creative. But you have to be careful. You make think that encouraging some jealousy wil…

...have you READ their sex scenes? :p Dude breaks the bed and leaves her bruised all over, haha. Although for most the books he steadfastly refuses to have sex with her prior to marriage, true, while she keeps wanting him to. That's a teen girl thing, yeah.

That's kinda weird because I've always thought of those movies as male fantasies. Ie, "you too, even though you're just an average schlubby Joe, can get the hot girl everyone wants!" I wouldn't have thought of them as something women supported--I know plenty of girls who are annoyed that these movies make it so that the schlub "deserves" a hot girl just because he's such a good guy (there are attractive, confident, successful guys who are good people too!), but the ugly duckling has to get prett…

That's a high-maintenance girl, not a hot girl. Being needy and jealous will turn almost ANY girl off. Being a doormat will turn almost any any girl off. Putting her on a pedestal and thinking of her as your "princess" rather than a person will eventually turn most girls off. Being emotionally vulnerable will turn plenty of girls on, so long as you're not a total mess dragging her down with you.

Edward's the most gorgeous guy in school though, who saves Bella from a speeding car with his super strength, can have any girl he wants and yet is a haughty loner who disdains all the other girls. That's not beta.

UGH, as a girl and I hate that whole "persistent loser gets the girl" crap too. It causes creepy dudes I am NOT interested in to keep bothering me even when I've told them I'm not interested, and then to complain that I'm a shallow bitch because I'm not falling for them. (Yes, I can be shallow. I'm human. I want to date someone I find attractive and interesting, not someone who thinks of himself as "sweet" but is just needy and follows me around everywhere.)

Most people, if they're in decent shape, only need attitude and clothes to pull 9s, yes. Attitude being more important than clothes. That's pretty much the point of pickup, no? :) Men are usually more invested in looks, but it still works somewhat similarly for women too. Women with conventionally attractive bodies only need attitude and clothes (and good makeup) to be perceived as stunning, even if they're not. (Plus good clothes can cover a lot of figure flaws, so assuming a girl knows how to …

Not me personally, because a) he doesn't have the attitude I like, b) he's not exactly my type--I like guys who either look more androgynous/feminine, or more... edgy? But I certainly don't think of him as anywhere near "ugly." No girls should be recoiling away from him. I would think he was "sweet." Like I said, above average. If a friend of mine were dating him, I'd say "oh, he's cute!" (I didn't say he was exceptionally attractive, I said he could be very attractive if he worked his look more…

Just as long as in this "war" the enemy is not the woman you are trying to seduce, but "indifference." Can be a tricky thing to keep mindful of, and will not help you in developing a functional relationship if you think of your interaction as an us vs them thing.

Do a bit of investigation into who's grading the exams. Were your papers/projects graded by the head prof or the TA? Who were your midterms graded by, and who wrote them up? Before I taught my own classes, I had some students assume that all I did was run their discussion section... when in fact I was the one who made up and graded all their assignments, quizzes, paper topics, tests, etc. (Ie, these things varied from section to section, and other TAs gave their classes entirely different assign…

Just ask. Being the same age as her helps a lot. I was a TA and I would get asked out by one or more of my students pretty much after every semester. She's probably used to it so you don't have to be too nervous. It probably helps if you got good grades in her class. If you didn't, well, she may still be interested physically, but I dunno how appealing it is to date someone who doesn't get the subject you were passionate enough about to go into grad school for. Oh, DON'T ask her out after your l…

Yeah, but I'm not looking for just-good-times-and-sex relationships. And I haven't yet met a 23 year old where, after knowing them for a while, I don't keep thinking "oh god, you're SO early 20s" and that's not something I want to deal with in a partner. (Also why I'm not interested in anyone significantly older. I want a partner who's roughly at the same stage of life that I am.) Plus honestly? I dunno that 23 year old guys would be that great at sex for me. I rather like the confidence, knowle…

I notice a lot of guys do it--in plenty of those "haha you were really talking to a guy!" text exchanges posted on r/funny, as soon as the trickster stops pretending to be a "cutesy" girl, the texter begins to match his more "proper" spelling. And when I text with a guy and they start off all casual and using text-speak, they do usually try to "level up" and match me more once I respond using full sentences, etc. But I wasn't sure how conscious this process was. :) I have nothing against going t…

Curious... in the first series of texts you post there, your capitalization and punctuation is sloppy. In your actual posts, it's not. In your initial posted text correspondence with her, it's also not (except that you don't really close your sentences), but hers is. Did you match yours to hers on purpose? Does it get you better responses when you "match it down" to the girl? I want to know because I'm someone for whom sloppy texting is a major pet peeve, and if a guy texts me and he's not using…

You won't be a skeezeball unless you let your guilt cause you not to see her again. Now that you know you have such intense chemistry, just make sure there's a place you can get to that's more appropriate, and don't do this sort of thing again since it makes you feel so conflicted. (And if having sex with her on a 2nd date would make you also feel "dirty" or cause you to view her in a negative way, don't do that either.) But seriously, just relax and enjoy it. A sweet girl whom you have amazing …

Some nice and clever replies here, but sorry dude, she wasn't into you. Sounds like she was just chatting with you to be nice, but you didn't build any attraction. So you wanna try and work on that a bit more. I agree that if you see her again, you might be able to win her over more.

I dunno that this matters, but as a girl, if I ask you, I seriously want to know how old you are. I'm 29-about-to-be-30 but look a lot younger; I don't want to get all flirty with 20 year olds or really anyone under 25. If you don't answer, I'll just take it as a cue to proceed with caution, if I proceed at all. If you look OLDER, I usually won't ask... mostly because if I think you're attractive, you're probably not too old for me. But when a guy asks me to "guess," that makes me want to roll m…

As a woman, I will say when I use it, it is not a shit test. It means I'm into the guy somewhat, but I worry us kissing so soon (or whatever else) is making him think we might hook up. I don't want to lead him on, so I'll say that to manage expectations. (This does not mean I never intend to sleep with him, by the way. Often, it means that I do but just not yet.) The way you are responding now is fine. It shows you aren't phased and plays it off, which is good. Do NOT try your little "reserve ps…

These last winter holidays, I was visiting my family in a foreign country, and had some trouble with my luggage, and this guy who was in the same situation but actually knew the language was helping me out. He was nice, and after I thanked him for helping me communicate with the airline personnel, he asked for my phone # or how he could find me on FB. Or, much simpler: When girls go on vacation they are often looking for adventure, which includes a romantic fling with a local. The best part of it? That guy can be someone she'll never see again. She won't have to field his phone calls about meeting up again, or worry whether she lead him on, or that it meant anything. She won't even be in the country by the next week. Much of the time girls don't go out to bars to hook up. They just don't. Since that is not their intent, there is no problem re…

Personally, anytime anyone tells me I have a "sexy accent" that is it, I'm insta super turned off. It's gross and cliche and exoticizing in the worst way. Also I hear it way too often. I doubt that's the reason in your case, but wanted to share.

Tbh, I don't know. I still can't guarantee you she'll respond at all, and if anything I think you're over-thinking things and setting yourself up for disappointment... I'm just a lady who's interested in the seduction community and not a PUA, but I will say I'm very pro the PUA advice of never investing much in someone before you know they're invested in you (and not getting discouraged by rejection). That said, like I mentioned before, if you're going to invite her out, something with friends (…

Don't wait a week--she may well not even remember who you are by then, and then you'll have to explain, and yeah, not good. Also if you don't mind just being friends, don't try to get her interested. Just say pretty much what you said here--that you met her at the club, that you'd like "someone new to potentially hang out with" and would she be up for _____? Suggest an activity. Perhaps even with some other people. No guarantee that she'll be up for it, but at least it reassures her that you ARE…

She's not interested. She was ok with you being in her group (and even friendly) while the other guys were there acting as a buffer, and then put up her guard when the guys left and you had more opportunity to hit on her. She only gave you her number because you said it was to meet new "friends" and she felt she couldn't say no to something supposedly so harmless without being rude. If you try to ask her out, she will reject you, and it's unlikely you'll even get a good response if you text her …

I'm bi though. Still feels way different when a man gropes me without consent than a woman. And it's different because there ARE different power relations and expectations involved, even in terms of physical strength only. Men are constantly aggressive and demanding of me--women, usually not. (There are plenty of men who are perfectly kind and sweet and wonderful, but the individuals who've approached me in an aggressive way are pretty much exclusively men.) So if a woman grabs my ass without co…

Trust me, I have been felt up/grabbed against my will by plenty of strangers and none of them have gotten arrested. As a woman, it usually just makes you shrink into yourself and want to get away. I'm not saying it's ok for women (or anyone!) to grab others without consent, but being grabbed by a man isn't quite the same as being grabbed by a woman. For instance, think of how you'd feel if a man in a bar grabbed your ass or rubbed your inner thigh rather than a woman. Different, yes?

You don't have to choose between "be a girl's friend in the hopes of having sex with her" or keeping her at a distance until the f-close. It is perfectly possible to keep a flirtation going and make clear your attraction while becoming emotionally intimate before any sex takes place. It depends on you, and the girl. The one time I had sex outside of a relationship, it took two weeks of us talking every night on the phone for 4 hours, and several lengthy in-person hang outs before we actually hoo…

You're reading it that way. Another way to read it is "I wanted to hook up with this guy but he spent 2 hrs just talking to me and didn't make a move or respond to my flirting. But turns out he's awesome and makes a great friend so I'm not sad." You really have no idea without more context as to who friendzoned whom.

Ouch ouch ouch ouch. This particular girl is probably gone. Kino is easier in bars and clubs than with a date you meet online. I dunno what the official PU stance is on this, but from my own experience as a girl--do NOT start off with kino with an online date. You can briefly hug her if you want, but then keep your space until you establish some comfort and rapport. She is going to be nervous and sizing you up at first and you don't want to trip her creep sensor. (You SHOULD initiate kino after …
