I can relate to this quite a bit. I do think mental health issues are more isolating, in general, for men just due to stigma and traditional gender roles/ stereotypes. As a women with major mental health issues, I feel pretty isolated and I only have one friend, but I don’t feel shame or embarrassment about talking generally about my feelings in open settings (e.g.: with co-workers, family etc.)

This is amazing! You have great skills and are super interesting! I guarantee you there are people out there and even events tailored to yours interests a la saturnalia night, Norse poetry readings? You have a lot to work with and remember just like snakes we (introverted woman) are just as afraid of you as you are of us. Men think that’s bullshit but it’s true.

I think your belief or the notion you’ve presented here maybe at least partially skewed and misinformed by the media’s tendency to represent woman both young and old as one dimensional, male obsessed beings. Look up the Bechdel Test on Google and let me know what you think. In my experience, all genders are susceptible to the trappings of love, lust, neediness and everything in between.

Men like this have no idea what attractive even looks like. They have such shallow ideas and such lowly opinions of women, thinking we have no depth and that all we care about is bling and a pretty face. They end up looking and acting like charactitures of what they think the “ideal man” should be which in mind anyways is far from being attractive lol.

What values do you look for in a women that you also share? Are drive, passion and motivation some of them or do you prefer someone more laidback as well? I ask because you may find that some women will appreciate you for your more laidback nature, it really just depends on the person and what they like. Whatever the case, one way to help tackle any life change is to take stock of the barriers getting in the way of you taking action. Sometimes these barriers are mental or psychological, for exam…

You’re right you didn’t. But I felt like the convo was going that way. Not just you. But still I think it’s a good point to make.

Ok maybe she was a dud but don’t fall into the trap that just because a woman is pretty she can’t be interesting, smart etc.

If I may borrow from the incel fallacy for a moment. I think some guys think woman are into the stereotypical Chad-look. You know the buff, tall, decidedly masculine yet weirdly polished looking man. I know for me that couldn’t be further from the truth. And I think if any of us look around you’ll notice that all sorts of guys and gals are paired up. Am I saying we are all given equal attention? Nah. I mean I notice the beautiful woman more and who they have on their arm. But I’m quite thrilled …

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
