I write walls of text to explain things thoroughly. While people write walls of text to defend things wrongly, plenty of people defend things rightly with walls of text. Toxic expectations.. That's nonspecific to the point of not having a real meaning. It is about masculine values that are taken to an extreme specifically, and it's an issue that stems from patriarchal social structure. I'm sure there is a specific type of toxicity that exists in the few matriarchal societies out there. But I pre…

I'm not the one you're talking to, but I stumbled into this sub and I don't see why if I'm being civil I can't make a point here and there to people who may be willing to talk about things in a reasonable way. Imo, feminism should be advocating for making domestic violence and rape laws gender neutral. This helps everyone. Women can rape and abuse men and other women, whether they be friends, roommates, romantic/sexual partners, spouses, etc. And men should not be arrested for complaining that t…

I got 25%. I hated the "pick a doctor/nurse/professor" ones as I've had both.. I also think the wage gap is a mix of things. Some of it is that women are just starting to be eligible through rising up in companies for higher paying positions, some of it is career choice, but the fact that some careers pay significantly less should be fixed regardless. Certain labor types are systemically devalued. If that was not the case, I wonder if that would help the wage gap. I think it would, and would ben…

Eh, being "not like the other girls" was a cringe thing I did at that age. Not to any extreme, but it's common, especially at that age. It sucks that it's a part of it, but hopefully they grow from it by seeing that feminism does not have to reject femininity.

Just wanted to point out that the term toxic masculinity does not mean all aspects of being masculine are toxic. There would be no need for the qualifying word if masculinity and toxic masculinity were truly interchangeable. It was also a term invented by men in regard to behaviors that are generally harmful. Toxic masculinity is defined by an excessive need for dominance. This translates into never seeking help, being ashamed of showing certain emotions or crying, deriding things women say only…

A lot of people are inclined to want the status quo and to be frightened of change. So that was likely the case at that time. I see disparaging comments about not wanting the responsibilities that came with voting as if it's people wanting to have their cake and eat it too, without regard for the fact it was more complicated than that. The fact is, our country has been shaped in recent years but the fact that women can vote. I have not lived in a time where I cannot, nor do I want to. I learned …

Feminism isn't defined by idiots like the ppl complaining about this logo. Sad that they worry about this over bigger problems like safety, healthcare, and rights.

Thank you. The are idiots in every group imaginable that get offended by something out of proportion and act hypocritical. Ppl who think the top image is a problem but not the bottom are both overreacting and being a hypocrite.. some are offended by both I'm sure though. But yeah, personally I find the bottom image to be over the top and gross.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
