I doubt this only costs 2k. Your cost will generally go up bringing along a chick that you are semi impressing along the way. Assume it’s an extra 3k or more across both of you, and decide with a more conservative estimate.

If you want fun in your 30s, you just have to make certain life decisions that allow it. Most people make decisions that require settling down. There is nothing wrong with that, but it’s worth remembering that you can make decisions that allow you to keep living another life as well. Your friends will evolve though. It’s just the way it has to work if you go down that path.

I think it’s Seneca who deliberately walked around wearing absurd clothes to train himself that it didn’t matter. He also went total poor for periods of time to prove money didn’t matter and he could live with nothing. Smart dude. Maybe you could try some hardcore thing that makes you entirely uncomfortable just to get used to it? Because it’s so deliberate, it would certainly train you. Maybe go Halloween every weekend for a month? Could be fun!
