She wants to be Ryan Reynolds joking about Blake Lively on Instagram and he is just an asshole instead.

Taylor Swift is a very good example of a pickmeisha turning into a HVW, in my opinion. She has narratives in her songs that may not fit this, but on a personal level she got the kind of man that absolutely represents what a HVM is, at least on paper. The John Mayer storyline is so infuriating to me. She is now still younger than he was when they were dating. He is the classic Nice Guy who has a lot of internalised misogyny and a bunch of problematic behaviour behind. He is the idol of a lot of g…

Thank for sharing. The thought of meeting a man that’s into this kind of bs and me not knowing anything at all gives me literal nightmares. I feel it’s really important to be informed.

I would also add that FDS does not revolve around the concept of men. Many of the lessons taught by this philosophy are completely unrelated to a heterosexual relationship and are much more about realising how to know your self worth, work on yourself and stop being so affected by the system that - no matter your sexuality - revolves completely about the heteropatriarchy. Many of these precepts can apply in any kind of relationship. You need to learn how to love yourself in order to have a healt…

You’re right, I hadn’t thought about it that way. Considering she was like 15 and “living in the seventies”, she had a long way to go but I can picture her being much more mature and with better self esteem as a grown up. We all did pickme stuff at that age, sadly.

Jackie was always put like a bitch for knowing her self worth lol, meanwhile Donna was there being “not like other girls” sometimes

YES, a thousand times yes! I’ve had experience with gamers and the internalised misogyny of that community is just too much to handle. Very few men are aware of these problems, and even fewer do anything about it. This posts sums up pretty well why I won’t date gamers ever. Someone that invests that much time and money on a hobby like that is just not ideal to me. I find it much more interesting to look for people that spend their time on a wide variety of activities and prioritise their well be…

At least everyone is giving him shit for that low effort on dates and not paying thing. I’m really glad the girlfriend came across this sub because that poor woman would have put up with his shit for a long time. I can’t believe she got him a PS5 and contributes with half the money and still he said he buys “the big stuff”, the audacity!

They’re talking shit about this sub because the old low standard relationship dynamic isn’t gonna work much longer for many women. I can’t believe that “who wants the date pays the bill” thing in that post, not to mention the “I got her really cool gift cards, isn’t that thoughtful?” LMAO

Congratulations on giving yourself the value you deserve and not wasting it on a LVM! I think it can be quite difficult to do the first few times, as it's easy to get back to old habits sometimes when you first start this kind of lifestyle. It shows that once you learn about self love and have awareness of what you deserve, you take no shit from anyone. I highly recommend you do not accept a man walk you home right away in the future. I mean it because it's no good when they learn where you live…

I can understand why it’s kind of difficult for some people to understand why is it ideal to expect some kind of investment in a relationship these days, but it is also really important to remember the structural struggles prevalent in today’s society. Women are still very much expected to look a million dollars or at least to reach a ridiculous beauty standard based on million dollar industries, porn and Hollywood, also taxes are still being applied to female products, and on top of that the fa…

You go! That’s literally me, too. It’s amazing being at that point in life where one is so at peace and happy with their life that responding LVM texts is no longer in the list.

Agreed! Between that and the typical “tell me how bad you want it😩”, I rather see myself out.

The only positive thing about these type of posts is the daily reminder that being single is amazing and much better than spending time on some jerk

You described my past relationship to perfection with this post and this is why my standard with men’s hobbies increased since that thing ended. My ex used to be mad at me all the time because I suggested actually interesting hobbies and a better performance in life. We should put a lot of attention on this matter, because hobbies are priorities made actions. Why would we want to spend our time and energy in a guy that plays videogames and jerks off? It’s just absurd.

This is so true. I thought not saying anything was normal because my mom always said so, but then I realised she’s been abused emotionally and psychologically by my father for more than 20 years. I followed that path in my past relationship and didn’t say anything to protect my partner’s reputation. When we broke up I realised I didn’t owe him sh*t and I was abused, so I had the right to share my story in order to heal. Long story short, if you don’t want to tell something is probably because yo…

It's not about that, it literally says it is a response because the other person ("Karen") was the one who commented on her choices first. It's not anyone's responsability if Karen wants to "show her" and dig into her toxic relationship even more if she's commited to it in the first place, no one obliged her to be in that dynamic and there's plenty of resources for help and auto realisation, it is a personal choice for both of them. As single, confident women, we experience enough judgement and …

Personally, I would never date someone that dedicated more than 4 hours or so a week TOPS to gaming. I don't really like it as a hobby for a partner. I find that the gaming culture most of the time is mysoginistic and has lots of issues within. My ex lied to me about spending time and money playing videogames (among other lies), which to me was unacceptable and he ended up telling me "I never accepted him, wanted him to change and never listened to his needs". Lmao, sorry for stating limits and …

It is definitely impressive because so many things match her character in that account. I am suspecting she had a lot of free time hiding and controlling the agenda was something she was used to. The dates, the use of both british and american mannerisms, the username... Some stuff match with almost no effort. I've known of many censored posts talking about the mods that control huge parts of reddit (I read that 20 accounts control the most populated subs, including the most grotesque ones). It …

I would be so down to the book club! As pointed out before, some different perspectives of the same stories can be very interesting and educational to hear. I agree on the fact that Darcy appreciated Lizzie for what she was entirely, some of her traits didn't fit in the upper class women but regardless he wanted to be with her, even aware of the fact she was an independent and "different" woman. She was not THAT uneducated, she was not exactly poor (let's not forget Ms. Bennet pointing out they …

The movie is my favourite adaptation and I totally recommend the book. I think my opinion on Darcy is that he didn't exactly change, but the narrative was on Lizzie's perception mostly, so it makes him look like a shitty person when he was only protecting his friend's best interest. I think he wasn't exactly classist, though he thought badly of the Bennet family because of the awful comments of the mother. She seemed like a gold digger and totally up for the possibility of her daughters marrying…

My worst ex was a momma's boy. He expected me to "help" him get through his issues and forgive him every time, the few times he was willing to admit he did wrong. Of course, everything she said was always right to him and she constantly told him he was "perfect and wonderful" so in his head he was ALWAYS the victim and didn't make any mistakes. It was the worst experience ever. NEVER date a guy like this. It's HUGE red flag is his mother is the only person he respects.

I completely get you, but understand that he is just a dumb ass that can't think for himself and his mind is so stupid that he can just focus on conventionally attractive women, and that kind of guy would never value any REAL woman. His life is so pathetic he will never be invested in a real relationship and will end up feeling empty and unaccomplished forever. You are strong, beautiful and smart and you don't deserve that. Take some time to think about you and honestly about what drove you into…

I feel you so much, still feel sad too. With all this pandemic thing the situation is hard, more so getting out of a relationship. But it's for the best, and now is just the right time to rebuild everything they affected about us. The process is hard indeed. If you need to talk to someone feel free to start a chat with me :)

I just got out of a relationship with a NVM and I was feeling weird but reading that sub really worked to make me feel better. Congratulations on getting out of a relationship with a LVM! You deserve so much better and he sounds really awful, red flags everywhere!

I am so mad at finding out this sub might be banned ugh, they gotta ruin everything. I hope there's a way for info to be saved and we can keep the space. I can't believe there's subs on incest and very offensive stuff and they ban this over those.
