Looking at these comments you seem correct.

Oh good. I was just about to say "Wait, this place is PRO Kavanaugh? I'm out." He is a piece of shit conservative that should be nowhere near the Supreme Court, unless you're a racist, sexist, troglodyte.

Yertle the Turtle is from Dr. Seuss. I don't where Myrtle the Turtle is from, but it's not Dr. Seuss.

What's the obsession? Well to start, there's the repeated asking me about it for no good reason in particular.
/r/MensRights12/09/18 08:43 PM
-13

Obsess Definition v. - "(of a person) be preoccupied with or constantly worrying about something." The fact that you keep asking me about this and won't let it go is the perfect example of this subs obsession. She was wrong, she got caught, everybody knows.
/r/MensRights12/09/18 08:13 PM

Yup, way out of proportion. Calling her on her bullshit is fine, everybody here is obsessing over this.

I was genuinely curious. Those kind of mistakes happen often to people to whom English is a second language. Turns out you're just an asshole. Thanks for clarifying!

but I have some feminist friends who responded with outrage when I told them that I thought the idea of men's rights activism made a lot of sense You answered your own question. Feminists do not want to address Men's Rights issues, mainly because they helped create them. Can't have equality that way.

It makes me very sad to think that the opportunity for effective debate has been lost. When every MRA is considered a misogynist by the majority, that opportunity was lost long ago. Might as well lament that Hitler didn't stay in art school.

If you're tired of it, you're more than welcome to leave. So are the people complaining about the Facebook posts. I can also stay and make my opinion heard and have a discussion in the community. I get sick of seeing comments on front page posts complaining "why is this garbage here" or some other equivalent. It's here because the community voted it to the front page, so they must like it.
/r/MensRights13/02/13 05:45 PM

You're dividing information into what is "acceptable" content and "unacceptable" content. It's the very basis of censorship. It's elitist because a minority is deciding what is "good" or ahem: relevant news and activism instead of letting everyone decide what is acceptable content to them.
/r/MensRights13/02/13 04:30 PM
20

It's good to know someone agrees. I am so sick and tired of "OMFG THIS ISN'T /R/insertsubreddithere!" "move it to /r/extremelyspecificnichesubject." Not everything needs to be in its own sub-sub-sub category. It makes this site seem like it's full of whiny, self-entitled children. But I guess it's easier and more enjoyable for these people to bitch and moan and whine and throw a tantrum until they get their way instead of jusdealing with it and moving on.
/r/MensRights13/02/13 02:50 PM
57

The elitism on this site is getting out of hand. The complaints about reposts were bad enough, but this tendency for every subreddit to start excluding content is becoming worrying.

I wonder how these people(female, white-knights or trans extremists alike) would really feel if their identity was made public. Why do you think all the SRS mods are ridiculous Archangellerandomwordhere? They only use those to post in SRS and hide who they so no one can do it to them.

Perhaps your intolerance of the religion is coloring your view? Most definitely. I would consider my previous comment as an admission of this. I tried to read the article and kept coming back to the name and I just didn't care. I didn't care what CSM had to say. Not saying it's right, just saying it is.

It makes me reject it out of hand. I get that r/MensRights is upset about the SPLC designation, I am too, but that's the stereotype for MRM. It sucks, and everyone should do what they can to dispute it, but that's the way it is. I know it's a bit shallow, but branding matters. I'm more inclined to believe something called the Southern Poverty Law Center than Christian Science Monitor. Others would be the opposite. I believe in the MRM, but when you're getting labeled a hate group, even in ignora…

Maybe I'm being slow on this but how would anyone else have access to your retirement money whether you are/were married or not. The courts. Assets will be split in divorce proceedings and the divorce courts are always biased towards women. Let me put it in the simplest, most straightforward I can. In America, when you divorce, a woman is entitled to at least 50% of any and ALL assets, no matter what. Usually they can get more. And they take it, because they can. So a man can be completely wiped…

I'm guessing not, since you don't have a problem with your mother cutting your father out of your life. I would consider myself estranged from my father, we love each other, we just don't know each other very will. I do have a problem with my mother abandoning my father when he was 3000 miles away serving his country, it's just none of YOUR fucking business and I don't think it compares to a SPERM DONATION! As a father and son, I find your lack of respect for fathers personally insulting. You re…

Would you really be OK with your mother denying you a relationship with your father like that, if she had done that to you? You wouldn't feel like you had a right to something that she callously took away? This actually happened to me. My mother divorced my father when I was nine. At the time he was stationed in Korea, all the way across the world. He called home on my birthday and she refused to talk to him. She finally told him she had mailed him divorce papers after he wouldn't hang up until …

A contract is a legally binding agreement with terms set for success or failure of the relationship. To honor (#18 definition) it just means to abide by its terms. I am curious exactly which specific definition of honor you think we should add to sperm donation, itself a simple business transaction between multiple parties. I do not believe that religion has a place in the legal system, but *faith isn't a bad thing in of itself. Nether is hope, or courage.
/r/MensRights03/02/11 12:53 AM
2

I actually think sperm donation is not honorable the way it is currently conducted. I've never thought "honor" had anything to do with it, nor should it. A strange yet interesting viewpoint.
/r/MensRights01/02/11 08:39 PM

Investigating further, I was wrong about the timeline. I used the term culling since I first heard about it in this book). I was also being facetious.
/r/MensRights01/02/11 08:18 PM

This might have been it. I could have been outraged by the simple fact he had to go to court, and then my own faulty mind went from there.

Can't unborn the child. A few thousand years ago you could, if you couldn't take care of a child you would "cull" them. Sadly, we've turned into pussies as a species.
/r/MensRights01/02/11 07:24 PM

This guy was essentially a sperm donor. As they said, the sperm was a gift. Sadly, I think sperm donors have been successfully sued for child support.

/r/MensRights01/02/11 07:15 PM

And I'm saying by comparing it to white rights you lose all moral authority for your position. You've become the type of feminist you're arguing don't predominate the philosophy.

I'm taking it back!
/r/MensRights14/01/11 05:09 PM

I would argue that feminists should want the courts to rule fairly and not be biased towards women in custody disputes. I highlighted "should" because it's the most important word in there. Yes, feminists should want equality. The argument by Men's Rights is that most of them have no interest in fair rule by the courts.
/r/MensRights14/01/11 04:54 PM
10

I completely understand that they are racist and homophobic. But you comparing Men's Rights to them is the exact same thing as the argument that "All Feminism is women who want to subjugate men." You can't argue that "Feminism isn't really like that" when you are guilty in your arguement of making the same generalization about Men's Rights. Well, I guess you can, but not using reason or logic.
/r/MensRights14/01/11 04:39 PM
9

I have no problem comparing mens rights to white rights, or straight rights to gay rights. At the end of the day, it serves to bring both groups down. This statement invalidates any argument from you about your belief in equality.
/r/MensRights14/01/11 04:27 PM
6

I think it just comes with being able to recognize the crazy in somebody and just letting them go their own way. You needn't openly fight those people, its a waste of your energy. Sarah Palin, the Teabaggers, the 2010 election, and all of recorded history invalidate your argument.
