If the woman weren't "allowed" to do anything besides cook and breed, that would mean the man has to do literally everything else... from buying or building the house, to acquiring the land to bringing home all the food, supplies, etc. Fixing anything that breaks or wears out, paying for absolutely everything, getting whatever education is needed to accomplish all that, paying for that education, etc. As appealing as the patriarchal role may seem, with all its freedom and power at home, building…

Sounds intriguing. For some critique of Red Pill and especially its scientific mistakes, check out this story from the other side. Maybe even inspiration for a sequel in there...

I'm sorry for your loss. Lots of casualties on both sides of the Pill. A friend of mine nearly went that way too.

Totally agree that many other characters are significantly 'worse' that the protagonist and that it makes his descent into chaos feel natural and inevitable, if not exactly justified. But I think that's part of the point of telling these stories, because falling to their level and "fighting fire with fire" is a gradual, insidious process and it's easy to not realize that you're becoming the very thing that you've hated all along. Sure, it's great to tell stories about villains getting their ass …

They all seem to follow a similar pattern. Establish an online persona as a dating expert. Sell dating courses. I think "dating" (though some of that stuff is actually domestic abuse or worse with the names changed) is just one example of how this process works. I'm more general terms I would say: 1. Become known as an expert on a common pain point (no actual expertise or credentials needed) 2. Monetize that "expert" reputation by selling snake-oil cures to whatever the pain point is. Go on podc…

"I did everything they told me to... And I'm the bad guy? How did that happen?" I haven't seen Halloween 2007, but Falling Down is one of my favorites. Definitely resonated with that during a very painful part of my life (and still do to a lesser extent). There's definitely a limit to how much bullshit anyone can put up with, and it can be hard to find the boundary-enforcing balance between being a doormat/slave and going totally apeshit. Totally worth the effort once you find that sweet spot, t…

It's weird, but apparently women can use the Internet, too! J/k.. but seriously it's bizarre how many guys don't realize that. I wholly support the goal of fighting abuse (online and off), but would put out a word of caution: abusers sometimes recruit new victims by pretending to be victims support, or attending gatherings of victims getting actual support. This sub was originally created as a support group and has been constantly fighting abusers and recruits ever since. Requestor and responder…

other men... have similar thoughts towards women, which seem to be something like “walking bags of skin with a big ass and big tits can make for a good fuck when i’m in the mood.” A lot of men actually pretend to want that, because they think that's what will make them cool or respected or feared or manly. They are afraid that they'll be inferior or weak if they let themselves have feelings for women. Because other men told them so. They compete with each other toward an increasingly unrealistic…

Wow, man. First off, u/ColdSnickersBar is right on all counts (though I can't personally vouch for his dating advice at I don't know him). It takes a lot of courage to lay it all out there like that, which already makes you braver than a lot of the self-proclaimed "alphas" out there. i fear that my writing capabilities may be too inadequate to fully and accurately communicate the feelings and experiences i’ve had. i’m horrified that i’ll never be able to get through to anyone, as these feelings …

Yeauh huh. If it's real, let's see those tax returns. Influencers will lie about anything to get more attention, from owning a private jet to having cancer. Talk is cheap and the more people like us buy into it, the more reason they have to fake it even bigger... And thanks to the Internet you'll have virtually no recourse of you find you've been duped. People who say you'll get rich like them by doing the same thing (after buying their super ultra mega premium mentorship membership package for …

Final point: Don't get back with him because you are tempted to hang onto anything who even resembles healthy love. Based on your past trauma, it sounds like (no offense?) the bar may be pretty low, and you don't want to get stuck in the nightmare of settling for an abusive guy just because he's a little bit less abusive than some other guys. You deserve better. Also, it's quite possible that they reason you feel like he's 'gotten away' is because of the mind tricks being taught in redpill and r…

... But enough about him, let's talk about you. When he fails (not if), will you be able to see it as a mistake, or will that being back all your extensive history of trauma with men (including him)? Will you be able to see the Level 3 dick move as a Level 3 dick move, or will it be just another indicator that he might be reverting to the Level 8 "evil" that he put you through before? This is normal, by the way, not a failure on your part. Mistrust and suspicion and hypervigilance come with the …

Caveat: there is no single "right answer" for all men or all relationships. Just as "AWALT" is massively inaccurate, any statement that men do or don't change is generalizing at best and potentially very wrong for your specific situation. They say men change but only for subsequent women, and even if they do grow after losing a good woman that they'd revert to the same bad behaviors if that woman ever got back with them down the line because she thought he changed. Generally speaking, people onl…

It's not an issue for a man to be alone of he wants to... And contrary to MGTOW propaganda, it never has been an issue. Bachelorhood is perfectly respectable, so much so that college degrees are named after it. But wanting to be alone and wanting to destroy/control/vilify women because you're hurt and don't know how deal without projecting your pain onto done scapegoat are very different things. One is fine, the others are problematic.

Redpill is appealing to men who feel powerless or like they have lost control of their lives (which most of us can probably relate to, especially right out of high school or college), by giving them a sense of control over something, specifically women. Suddenly the man feels poweful and in control again, and that feeling can become addictive. So yes, it gives the guy relationship controlling-obsession and probably gives the woman relationship paranoia. IMHO red pill is a major reason women are …

Real Stoicism (like Epictetus and Marcus Aurelius) is indeed an effective way to find inner peace in a chaotic world. However, lots of people lately have been misusing the word Stoic to describe a sort of heartlessness or the absence of empathy, and this is nearly opposite of true Stoic philosophy, which is highly focused on virtuous behavior and the common good.

LPT: Going to forums (or social media of any kind) isn't the best approach for a question about statistical reality. Social media gets paid to keep you 'engaged' with their platform, and have literally zero incentive to keep their content accurate. Sex has been measured in many ways for centuries, so there's plenty of data admit it. Also, using "real life" terminology like "what is the average number of sexual partners" instead of trendy buzzwords like "body count" would be a big help in finding…

This is several things at once: Emotional extortion to force you to accept his new shitty behavior 'or else'... And by accepting his behavior you must tacitly accept the ideology (and subhuman status) as well. And your refusal to do so will result in losing not just got love, but your home, (at least partial) family, financial security, and maybe more. The life you've built is at stake and is being leveraged against you. Most likely, this in itself is illegal, depending where you live. False dic…

Yes, Redpill attracts men who already lean towards narcissistic and manipulative and abusive behavior because it gives them justification for that behavior, as well as the "brotherhood" of other like-minded men. However, Redpill (and other PUA groups) also attract codependent, shy, underdog, abuse-victim men and teach them narcissistic behavior initially framed as self-defence and self-improvement (this would include most of the incel group). This is partly because of the ideology but also becau…

I'm sorry you're going through that, OP. Therapy can help, and it may benefit to describe it as he's joined a cult (because he has). But using that term will help your therapist know better how to help, as this is different from "normal" domestic/psychological abuse and coercive control. He's no longer the person you married (not even really himself), and recognizing that can help reduce the dissonance created by paradoxically seeing him as both your lover and abuser. That's important because th…

But they are based on "evidence" that strokes male egos and justifies our sense of entitlement, so it "feels good" to believe it, regardless of truth or accuracy. This is also how marketing and propaganda and cult recruitment work. Arguably, redpill "evidence" is marketing, propaganda, and cult recruitment. Controlling behavior Sometimes the implication of your inadequacy is blended into a unspoken 'punishments' for your behaviors he doesn't like, such as being suddenly too busy to go out with you after you defied his wishes or disagreed with his preferences or refused to put out on a previous encounter. The goal here is to 'train' you to do what he wants, also called behavioral conditioning. In a medicolegal sense, this would require informed consent, but the PUA world isn't really into that stuff…

Memory anchoring is the intentional creation of memory associations with otherwise neutral stimuli that remind you of something else. Think of the concept of "our song" or the place we had our first date/kiss/sex/ etc. The goal here is to connect himself to every aspect of your life so that when he's not around, you'll be surrounded by things that remind you of him. Songs on the radio, your favorite restaurants or foods, even figures of speech can pull you back into nostalgic reminiscence at the…

Oh man, where to start? Trigger warning: sexual abuse, psychological abuse First off, there are different kinds of PUAs: some just ain for getting laid as fast as possible and then move on. Others play the long game and aren't just looking for a one-time lay, but are trying to add you to their secret harem of women they can have sex with on demand (but have no actual commitment to). The latter case is the more vile IMHO, and the tactics/red flags will be a bit different. I would also clarify tha…

Granted I'm only seeing the parent comment after Edit, but there's no generalization there: just an intersection specifically to show how perceptions get skewed by selection bias in the propaganda process. However I do agree that there's a lot of bitterness and regret and whining and maladaptive coping that goes on in red pill circles. Often it's intentionally stoked by other members, so I try to withhold judgement on any individual scenario unless I really know the people involved. Side note: w…

Good description of the phases of recruitment. A little harmless and genuinely beneficial self-improvement to bait the hook and establish a sense of comraderie, then slowly introduce anti-Them concepts to further isolate the new recruits and build into the illusion of a shared enemy. Then dehumanize that Them group to justify increasingly cruel behavior toward them. That cruelty feels unnatural at first, so the recruits learn to suppress their conscience and double-down, using the brotherhood of…

This. Men truly going their own way is called 'bachelorhood' and has been common and fairly normal for centuries in Western culture. Sure, there's often some pressure or expectation to marry and make babies (usually from family), but if a man just sets some boundaries (which is arguably pretty manly in itself) and says 'No, I don't want to do that,' just about everyone will respect that decision and drop it. MGYOW isn't shit going their own way so much as it's about incubating men's wounds until…

Check out the book Complex PTSD by Pete Walker, or The Body Keeps the Score, by Bessel Van der Kolk. They're not tailored to RP survivors, but may be surprisingly relevant. A lot of people don't realize that redpill/PUA tactics like push-pull and dread game can actually cause neurological damage over time, so you might be dealing with an actual medical situation rather than just a "bad breakup."
