What if you never filter yourself but still fall short in the conversation department? I feel like my head is a vacuous space sometimes and it makes conversation difficult.

I have several questions for this: How do you get her to take her back to her place if you don’t have one of your own? How do you pull her back to your place if you live 30 minutes away from any decent dating locations? What should I do if I repress my sexual feelings and keep thing platonic for the 1st-3rd dates because I want an ltr? What if she really has to go and can’t stay?

Kudos for not taking her shit, dude. I wonder what would have happened if you actually hadn’t gotten in bed with her though. I had a similar thing happen where wanted her but I legit had to leave and the girl I was seeing kept telling me to stay. I left anyways, and after that she refused to talk to me hahaha

This... was pretty awkward. Not gonna lie, trying to stop someone and have a conversation with them is really weird especially these days. I’m surprised she even stayed after you ignored her rejection. You should have just taken it from there and left her alone.

I hope so, that’d be the dream to land a gamer gf. On not caring about what people think, I actually understand that this needs to be done in order to accept myself, but I have trouble actually doing this in practice. I am a naturally sensitive person who picks up on people’s mental states pretty readily, and I can tell if they dislike me without the other person saying anything at all. Needless to say, I still have a lot to work on. I appreciate the advice.

Ahah, that makes sense. I’m hearing that more and more as I read deeper into my problems; that I have to put in the work in order to be “worth it” to people that I am attracted to. You’re right about being in stagnation. I’ve been frozen in place because of my depression and anxiety for about 6 years and I’m finally breaking out of it enough to where I can make some progress. I’m just worried that it might be too little, too late since I have no one to guide me or tell me what to do anymore. I’m…

That’s called a self-fulfilling prophecy, right? It makes sense that I shouldn’t worry about it, but something holds me back from actually attaining a healthy level of “not giving a fuck.” I gotta figure out what’s holding me back before I can start making working progress.

Perhaps you’re right that it’s not about how I act but about being honest with myself about who I am and being ok with that. That just so happens to be the hardest part of this whole endeavor, since I’ve spent so much of my life hating myself that I never learned how to love myself. I didn’t used to have friends until very recently, so it would be easier now to fix certain problems than ever before. I’ll give it a try.

You’re definitely right about not doing enough. Most of my time in high school was spent playing games rather than actually nurturing talents. Part of this is because I felt I had no impact on the real world so why not just dominate smaller, fantasy worlds instead? The problem then becomes one where I’m essentially escaping from reality because I’m scared of the lack of control that I have. I’ll look into that RSD stuff if you think it’ll help.

There definitely are benefits to going. The trouble is that every therapist I’ve talked to is booked back about 3 months because of guys just like me, so it comes down to a waiting game at this point.

Thanks for the post. You’re right that women don’t go for timidity, that’s for sure. In my case, it wasn’t really a learned trait so much as it was my default mentality when my confidence shattered in high school from constant bullying and rejection from the opposite sex. It goes without saying that I failed to adapt to the game, and ultimately it is up to me to fix it. The problem is that I feel I missed some critical developmental period in my life, where I should have gotten a girlfriend and …

Thanks for that. You’re definitely right about seeking therapy, and in my case I’m sure I could use it. The trouble always seems to be scheduling a meeting since therapists are so overbooked these days (probably because of dudes like me ayy lmao), but I’ll try anyways.

You’re probably right about that. I’ve spent much of my life getting beat down that I never had a chance to become resilient. Instead I focused on retaliation and stewing over my problems than actually confronting and dealing with them. What would you suggest? Therapy? I’m not really sure how to help myself in these situations.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
